Good morning. Yesterday we signed an agreement of sale on our house. Yikes!!!! Settlement will be Sept. 20 so we've got to get crack'n because we don't know where we're going yet. Another Yikes!!!! It feels really weird to know someone else is going to be living here, but I'm sure that will be tempered by the excitement of buying a new house.

It was 58 degrees outside when I got up. What a switch from the sultry mornings when it was 77 outside. Feels like Fall is in the air!

Ever heard of a Fisher or Fisher Cat? I didn't either, but a neighbor said that she'd heard that one was spotted in the area and a neighbors cat was recently killed. I sure hope we don't have one around here.

Essentially a giant weasel. They certainly could prey on domestic cats, but the Wikipedia article says that it is very rare. They prefer snowshoe hares and porcupines. I'd bet on coyotes rather than the fisher cat.

:shock::shock::shock: I don't know who started the rumor that it was a fisher. They could have seen a cat in a tree and thought it was one. Until I hear from some animal authority that they're in the area I'm just going to assume it wasn't one.

My neighbor spoke with the family who had the cat and it turns out the cat was pretty old and didn't seem to have any injuries on it. Might have just snuck off to die as cats do sometimes. I'm glad to think that it wasn't a fisher. We do have coyotes living close to us. I've never seen them, but plenty of other people have so I don't doubt it.

I have had an interesting couple of months. I changed my Medicare plan this year and have a much better plan. Better near-by doctors, good coverage, etc. So my new Doctor, who is wonderful, called for a battery of tests, from my usual yearly tests to a CT scan and a low dose xray of my lungs. Seems the low dose xray showed I have an “aortic root dilatation”, or an aneurism on the lower aortic valve.

My PCP sent me to a cardiologist. Cardiologist ordered a stress test among others. Stress test was “abnormal”. What does that mean? No one would tell me. Cardiologist ordered an angiogram. Had it Friday.

The whole procedure went smoothly. All the hospital staff was fantastic. A good friend (husband of Geordi’s breeder) works the ER at night so he came over when his shift was done. He knows everyone and everyone knows him. Jokes flew “So you brought your daughter in (I am older than friend)”, he says “no it’s my parents.” Everyone had a good chuckle. The resident working with the Angiogram Doctor (highly respected), finally told my why the test. The person who read the CT scan thought there was less blood flowing through one ventricle of my heart, perhaps a blockage? The Head Doctor asked where I got my test, so I told him. A highly respected testing facility.

The Head Doctor who performed the procedure was fantastic. “Shall we see if she has a heart?”. He explained everything, and off we went.

After the procedure, Dr said they found nothing. Anything found can be treated with meds. He told my husband he thought the CT scan reader over-reacted and this test was not really necessary. I am fine. The aneurysm is nothing to be concerned about, it is well within an acceptable range to not suspect any future problems.

Overall, I am not happy that I have had to spend 2 months “taking it easy” before this test was done. I missed practice and trials with Geordi. At the same time, heart disease runs in my family (the men, but who knows? The silent killer of women). I am glad we have a baseline, and it is only perhaps upping my current cholesterol meds. My new PCP changed my meds this year, so we shall see in September if this new med is helping.

The gross part? They went in through my groin and my right groin is one huge bruise (totally expected). Getting up from sitting is ouchy. and I walk slow. Every day will get better, and my heart is healthy.

Back to my fairly active life!!

Congrats on selling the house! I’m so glad the buyers are going to work with you as far as taking your time…I’m sure that takes a load of stress off of you. Not that there’s NO stress, but LESS stress is always a good thing

Good morning. Cloudy, going to 80 with maybe some rain which we could certainly use. I should be able to finish up the last of the weeding out back. Every time I rip out the crab grass I think of Gracie and the comment she made about the satisfying sound of ripping weeds out by the roots!

The good news is that you're ok and you have a baseline set of tests in case anything changes. I'm so glad you're able to start getting back to normal.

Ummm, looks like we have to hold off on the celebrations. The buyers don't want to pay the $395 brokerage fee and only want to pay $6k as down money and that would be after the home inspection. They don't want any representation at settlement. This is starting to make us very uncomfortable. We can always put the house on the market as originally planned, but we were so pleased when we thought we wouldn't have to do that. A week ago Mike and I both said this is going too easy, what's going to go wrong...

    Morning, all.

Weather report is in rerun mode. Low to mid 80s, dry.

Every day will get better, and my heart is healthy.

Seems to be a bit (quite a bit!) light on the down... hope it gets settled.

I'm hoping the agreement you guys previously signed was not fully binding .. however, if the Buyer can get away with a paltry 6K down and get loan approval, you'd still be golden .. ?? No .. ?? I would not let the $395 stand in the way .. I mean, you're not paying a Realtor commission the way I understand it .. ??

The first house I ever bought was zero down using my VA Loan qualification ..

We're paying the realtor a flat fee without the commission to handle settlement. The buyers are sticking us with paying our brokerage fee plus theirs. At $6k down they don't have much skin in the game and it feels like they're dictating to us how this is going to go. No, we're not legally bound to this sale and neither are they right now. They had looked at at least 2 houses before ours and they'd be required to put up at least $20k down plus pay more due to the commission. Scenario: what if we find a house, get locked in and get settlement dates coordinated and our buyers decide to walk out on our deal? It's a lot easier to walk out on $6k than $20K.

So no earnest money was provided .. ?? Or the 6K has been put up as earnest money .. ?? I don't know how it is out there, but here, a buyer puts in escrow an earnest money deposit .. if they back out of the deal due to a change of heart, the seller gets that money .. otherwise, it is applied to the down payment at closing ..

Personally, I don't know if it's ever really a good idea to put a contract in on another home until the old home has closed and money is in hand ..

But, it's your deal .. these things can get tricky ..

We don't have any here in central Oklahoma. Well, I should say I haven't seen any. I have seen coyotes, bobcats, and skunks out at the farm.
