Nope, although I did grow two tomato plants this year .. I got a couple edible tomato's, that's about it ..
Garden here went crazy. Tons of Summer Squash, Zucchini and cucumbers. Tomatotes are playing catch up now. Dd gave a lot away. She did make 14 loaves of Zucchini bread also.

Good morning everybody. Gorgeous day here at 82 degrees. So nice to have a few doors and windows open.

Ugh. Spent a couple hours online looking at properties ad eliminating all of them. I'm sure something is going to pop up, just wish it was sooner rather than later.

Just started a new book by Mike Rowe titled The Way I Heard It. Very funny. He's a good story teller.

Speaking of books, I just finished reading a book: Carmel Pecan Roll Murder. There were a bunch of recipes in it. I just mixed up a batch of the Butterscotch Delight Cookies. The dough is chilling so we'll see if they're any better than her writing.

Also, don't know if you're familiar with Mike Rowe, but he just put out a book called The Way I Heard It. It's a bunch of short, I'll call them stories/observations/memories, and it's a hoot.

Ours was pretty much a bust this year. Spring was too cold and wet, and we hoped it was just going to be late. Well, yeah, real late, like maybe next year. :(

That's too bad. Weather can really suck.

Sorry I don’t post much but I try to keep up with you all. The truth is it's been a very rough past 6 months. Started with a second cardiac ablation with complications that turned a day surgery into a 3-day hospital stay and a 3-4 month full recuperation. But before that time was past I was back in afib so had a couple of cardiac versions and another ablation about a month ago with complications again. Bottom line is I’m in sinus rhythm for now (good thing) but all these procedures and complications have taken a huge toll on my body and currently I have zero stamina. I can’t even take care of my greenhouse. Luckily hubby is able to. I’m glad that when all this started happening I found homes for a good number of my orchids so the remaining collection is more manageable for a person like me with health issues.

My cardiologist tells me next step is a pacemaker. I wish we could have skipped to that a few procedures ago but the insurance company dictated the process - arghh!

@Janet H and @MikeE3 congrats on the house sale. It’s hard and sad to leave your beloved home but it sounds like you have so much to look forward to. I envy you having kids and grankids.

@MikeE3 I was sorry to read about your heart troubles. Mine were the main reason we decided to move back to town years ago so we could be closer to a hospital and doctors.

@clnire so glad you’re fine. I suppose an overly cautious doctor is better than the alternative. I feel for you with the groin thing. They go in the same way for ablations so of course you have to lay flat for about 5 hours to form a scab so you don’t bleed out from that artery. After my second ablation the scab fell out when they got me up after the 5 hours. I bled out enough they thought I might need a transfusion but luckily not. My doc says this happens very rarely.

I’ve missed seeing you at any dog shows this past year but hope my health will get better and we can attend again.

    Morning, all.

Still hot and dry. They claim it's going to cool down a bit today, but, uh, last two nights we've set records for highest low temp.

Yeah, they spend a lot of money trying to save a dime... :grr: but good to hear that you're finally on track!

I have had an interesting couple of months. I changed my Medicare plan this year and have a much better plan. Better near-by doctors, good coverage, etc. So my new Doctor, who is wonderful, called for a battery of tests, from my usual yearly tests to a CT scan and a low dose xray of my lungs. Seems the low dose xray showed I have an “aortic root dilatation”, or an aneurism on the lower aortic valve.

After the procedure, Dr said they found nothing. Anything found can be treated with meds. He told my husband he thought the CT scan reader over-reacted and this test was not really necessary. I am fine. The aneurysm is nothing to be concerned about, it is well within an acceptable range to not suspect any future problems.

Overall, I am not happy that I have had to spend 2 months “taking it easy” before this test was done. I missed practice and trials with Geordi. At the same time, heart disease runs in my family (the men, but who knows? The silent killer of women). I am glad we have a baseline, and it is only perhaps upping my current cholesterol meds. My new PCP changed my meds this year, so we shall see in September if this new med is helping.

The gross part? They went in through my groin and my right groin is one huge bruise (totally expected). Getting up from sitting is ouchy. and I walk slow. Every day will get better, and my heart is healthy.

Back to my fairly active life!!

Wow, I can't blame you for not being too happy. But, I'm glad to hear that you're doing well and in better shape than they originally thought. Hopefully you'll back to 100% soon!

Wow, Bea - I'm so sorry you've been dealing with all of that! Hopefully they'll have you straightened out soon, and you can start getting some strength back. Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest - pop in when you can and let us know how things are going!

Meet Me in St Louie Louie
    Hola .. :)

From the beginning and through the Pandemic, my repair / restoration business was about as good as I had ever seen it .. I was booked a few months out and almost got to the point where I had to turn folks away .. (of course, in my quest for making a shekel or two, I never did) ..

Now, things are a Ghost Town .. more folks drop in the shop to try and sell me an instrument than anything .. and, many of those have been turned away at the Pawn Shops and what not as they are just not buying or they are paying dirt money ..

It's a good time to buy, sure .. but it's difficult to justify spending money on stock that has an unknown timeframe as far as re-selling .. I hate to turn a good deal away, but I'm going to have to cut back until there is some idea of consumers becoming more apt to feel comfortable spending that dough ..

The denial of there being a recession right now is BS, IMO ..

The Weed Shops & Liquor Stores seem to be doing just fine, though ..

Yeah, people could be spending their $$ on other things, food, gas, escape....

But has your biz been cyclic in the past? Prior periods of boom then bust?

Of course .. the instrument business is always up and down .. but, I've never seen the repair and restoration business as slow as it is right now ..

I've always adhered to what an old mentor told me :: 'Be prepared to do several things :: Sell / Repair / Restore / Fabricate .. since when one area is slow, you'll make it up with another ..' And, for many years, I had a side hustle with my Recording Studio / Engineer / Sound Reinforcement business ..

I don't need the money, but I like to stay busy .. always have ..

    Morning, all.

Another hot one here, just not quite as hot... and while some areas did get rain measured in drops, none here.

Yes, good advice! And staying busy, yeah, same boat for me. Although at times, with our two houses and 2 1/2 acres sometimes it's too busy!!
