Thank you, Fran. I am more excited now about dating now than I was when I was a teenager. Probably because I am not thinking about marriage this time. I won't say never but I can't see myself doing it again. Even if Aquaman got down on one knee, I'd get a prenup. I'll never go through what I did again. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. bahahahahaha
I am sorry to hear about your dad. You have been such a good caregiver…that is a very hard job, mentally and physically. I’m so happy that you are getting some time for YOU - you absolutely deserve it. Your friend sounds lovely, and I’m glad you are having fun!

Good morning. Well, there it is, our first heavy frost. It's all sparkly in the morning sun. Not sure where all the birds went, they're usually hopping around the feeder all puffed up. Maybe they're sleeping in so they don't slip and slide on the railing. Oops! There they are! Well, the starlings anyway. Can't resist the suet. Can't imagine looking forward to that for breakfast, but they sure seem to like it,

Torey, I'm so happy that you had such a good time!! I hope there's many more times like that in store for you. You certainly deserve it! Oh, I meant to ask, does you date have a beard?

It‘s been a while since I’ve posted…nothing to report, just the same old same old. I guess that’s a good thing, though. I have to take mom to have her blood drawn this morning, then for her Covid booster. She has finally agreed to let me start cleaning out her basement, but only because a pipe is leaking somewhere and she can’t figure out where exactly for all her junk. I am terrified of spiders and her basement is chock full of them  but I‘m going to look around and try to figure out where the leak is today. She said the basement floor was wet last week, and we hadn’t had rain for WEEKS at the time, so it has to be coming from somewhere. Wish me luck!

No. Dammit. But he does have a super thick head of beautiful silver hair and hair on his chest and not his back so I am going to call that a win! ;) At my age, I can't be too persnickety. heehee

You ever look into those pod things they set in the drive way, you pack it and then they haul it away to storage, bringing it to the new place when you're ready .. ??

I always thought who ever came up with that idea had a stoke of genius ..
I did look into those, but it was many years ago. Seemed expensive at the time. We were in San Diego when the military had movers come to pack up our daughter and move her. We pretty much just stayed out of their way and they did everything. Very efficient and packed so well that not one thing got broken or lost. Another time we helped her pack up for her move from Delaware to Colorado in a U-haul truck. Ugh! It was about that time that I told Mike that when we finally decided to move he better just figure on having movers do it because I'm not going through that again!

We've always done everything ourselves so it was a shock to find out that we just can't do the heavy things anymore and we just don't have the stamina either. As we've slowly transitioned to hiring someone to do things we've realized what a treat it is.

I am not afraid of spiders but I don't like surprise visits. I would probably noisily enter the basement (the same way I enter most rooms) and spray half a can of Lysol just to let them know I was there. Maybe the smell would make them skedaddle. Good luck to you and I hope you find the leak easily.

I would not think of it as a lack of stamina. I would just say you've just gotten smarter. ;)

Oh my, that sounds like a chore. Wear gloves and go armed with spray and a fly swatter and a vacuum to suck them up so you don't have to get too close or touch them! Can you tell I don't like them either? I find spiders to be fascinating - but only when they'e OUTSIDE!!!

Our daughter was watching tv in the family room after we'd gone to bed one night when we heard a bang. The next morning she said the bang was when she saw a thousand legger on the wall and threw a shoe at it. She even showed me the large splat on the wall that she hadn't cleaned off. She told me she was so freaked that her hiney got all bunched up! We still laugh about that one.

My hiney would have been bunched up, too! I HATE those things! At least she was a good shot and killed it…if she’s like me, she’d have been awake half the night being afraid of it crawling into the bed!

    Morning, all.

A bit cooler, nearly down to normal. No rain, but the rumors not only persist, but increase...

I had an absolutely wonderful time.

Maybe he'll grow a beard for you? ;)

Morning people. My agenda for the day includes finish packing up and/or throwing away stuff in he basement. I'm about 80% done with that chore. I can now call to have someone take away 4 Ikea book shelves and two shabby armoires not worth storing or moving.

Then a trip to the local thrift store with picrtures of our dinning room set, to see if they will take it. If so, they'll send out a truck and movers to get it. Janet's determined the new house will have a new dinning room set. Out current one belonged to my parents and it is well dated.

I am about 1/3rd of the way thru 'Sarum' by Edward Rutherfurd .. it is a dense, very well textured tale of historical Fiction that takes place primarily around the English city of Salisbury, starting with the first human migration to that area and going from there ..

I cannot recommend this book more highly .. it is quite engrossing .. if you are a reader and you like historical Fiction, do yourself s favor and get this book ..

Woohoo!! It's Kay coming for a visit, Yay!! So glad you stopped in!

I've been thinking about you a lot lately. I remember you saying that you got tired reading about our activities. Well, prepare to be exhausted because we're packing up our house to move! What a giant PIA! But it's an adventure. We're moving in with our daughter and family until we find a house. If we don't drive each other crazy we may even buy a bigger house together.

Thanks for the review. I just bought it, but won't get to it right away. Gotta finish the one I'm reading now.

I recently read a couple murder mystery books by Joanne Fluke, (a Hannah Swensen Mystery series) It's really a mystery told around mostly easy cookie recipes which is why I'm reading them because the writing is more along the lines of a young adult book, but the recipes are good. The Butterscotch Delight cookies are easy to make and may be one of my favorite cookies ever. I froze a bunch of dough balls so I can bake off 8 at a time. Gotta do it that way or I'd eat them all and blow up my diet. They're very easy to make if you want to blow up your diet too.

I do not plan on changing for anyone (Rat's new rule), nor do I expect them to change for me. Now if he happens to grow a beard, I can assure you. . . we would both enjoy it immensely! bahahahaha

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
