Good morning Fran and Torey.

Woke up yesterday morning and started right in gathering and packing all 3 vehicles to take to our daughters. Also, Mike hooked up the trailer to haul our snowblower and other equipment. We drove an hour to her house and unloaded everything to her basement and garage. Then we drove home and immediately laid down for a quick, late nap. This morning I'm not feeling much energy to get back to packing.
Hola .. :)

I'm surprised no one has posted :: 'Go, Phillies.. ' .. no fans out there .. ?? Mike .. ??

It's been a pretty good series so far .. Bryce Harper may be the best player in the MLB ..
I've definitely been watching, but boy am I glad they didn't play last night. Games start at 8:00 p.m. for us here and that makes for a late night.

I love Bryce Harper, but he's had a rough year with his injuries. It'll be so good to finally see him back in the outfield next year. Don't know if he's the best player in the MLB, but he's certainly up there with the best.

Always figured this was going to go 7 games and that's a good thing since I enjoy watching the games. I'd probably suffer withdrawal when it's over except we'll be so busy with our move.

How come everyone is not like Hawaii and Arizona?

Senator Marco Rubio introduced a bill on 15 March 2022 to make daylight savings time permanent starting in 2023.

The bill has majority bipartisan support. A good number number of states want to stop changing the clocks. Many states need federal approval to do so (dumber than dumb). Americans do not like the biannual time changes (I don't know of anyone who does).

The bill passed in the Senate on 15 March 2022 and has been sitting on the desk in the House awaiting a vote ever since. I would like to see the House get off their lazy rear-ends and pass the bill.

I suppose we should be happy that good old boneheaded New Zealand scientist George Vernon Hudson didn't get his way. If he would have, we might be changing our clocks by 2 hours twice a year but in the opposite directions. :?:

In 1895, Hudson presented a paper to the Wellington Philosophical Society, proposing a 2-hour shift forward in October and a 2-hour shift back in March.

Perhaps even more boneheaded was the British builder who proposed changing our clocks 8 times per year. :glare:

In 1905, independently from Hudson, British builder William Willett suggested setting the clocks ahead 20 minutes on each of the four Sundays in April, and switching them back by the same amount on each of the four Sundays in September, a total of eight time switches per year.

I guess humans just have to tinker with every possible thing imaginable... even things that should never be tinkered with... like Time. And perhaps other things...

"Jim?" ... "Yes, Mr. Spock?" ... "I've figured out how to disrupt the space time continuum of the NGC 1194 black hole using the dilithium crystals we mined on Rura Penthe" ... "That's excellent Spock!!! What's the worst thing that could possibly happen?" ... "According to my calculations Captain there is a 99.9998 percent chance of destroying the known Universe with their antimatter reactions" ... "I'll take those odds Mr. Spock, lets begin the disruption immediately" ... "Sir?, I must remind you that this is not the Kobayashi Maru"

We passed a bill here in WA several years back, to go to permanent DST. (Yeah, I'd prefer permanent standard time, but quit the dang changing!!) It, and I understand several other State's similar bills, are, yep, stuck in the House, after passing the Senate.

ALL States need congressional approval to change the time...

I just want them to pick one and be done with it. And I don't even care which one it is anymore.

Perhaps come Monday morning, when everyone in congress is mumbling and grumbling about the time change, they'll recall the bill is on the desk and pass it by noon.

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

Its been windy and rainy here, and it has robbed me of what little motivation I had. I have been downright useless today. I made breakfast, took mom‘s trash to the dump, and have done very little else. We smoked a pork .... on the pellet grill…it didn’t turn out that great. Can’t tell if we overcooked it or undercooked it. The flavor was fantastic, it just wasn’t as fall-apart tender as I hoped it would be. We had two probes that came with the grill, each had different temp readings. They were both different from my kitchen thermometer, so who the heck can tell when three thermometers can’t agree?! Oh well, we’re still learning. We haven’t had it very long so maybe we’ll get it figured out eventually.

I have been using my lazy time today for knitting socks. I started them a couple weeks ago and I’m almost done. Funny how craft projects actually get finished when I don’t get distracted with starting new ones!

Well, no donating blood today! Last time they canceled the drive at the last minute. Today my iron was too low to donate. I bet that is why I have been sleeping better this week. Darn it.

Oh well, Saturday night and I sat at home all alone. Isn't it wonderful? But, I gained 2 lbs last week dating. This is not a good thing. Don't guys want to do something other than eat?

Happy Sunday everyone. Hope it is a relaxing day. I don't think I am going to do one darn thing.

Morning, all.

Rain continues, after a brief respite yesterday.

Claim is for more still to come, and temps to drop. Yeah, one extreme to another, the new normal.

Don't guys want to do something other than eat?

Good morning Torey and David. It's overcast and a bit rainy, but shouldn't rain all day. At least it'll be warm today. Going up to 75.

So, the morning is matching my outlook when I woke up this morning. Nope, wasn't a dream, the Phillies lost last night. I'm going to go through withdraws with no baseball games to watch. They gave us an exciting year of ups and downs so the ride was fun. There's always next year.

Since I have been up, I have been pretty productive. Made 500 MLS of unflavored juice and took apart two lamps that need repaired. One needed a new lightbulb socket and the other needed a new cord (which I thought was just best to replace the whole thing).

I am going to go to WallyWorld now. Surely they have parts for lamps. I got them apart and the real question now is, will I be able to get them back together and functional? I am estimating a better than 50/50 percent chance. heehee

Cloudy here too but very warm. It. is 70 right now and is supposed to get up to 76. I bet everyone and their brother-in-law is at Walmart. I do not usually venture there on the weekends but I am on a mission.

It was almost 6.5 lbs, and we smoked it about 7 hrs at 225, until the probes read 205. Well, one read 205, one read 199, and my kitchen thermometer read 192. Hubs was afraid of overcooking it so he called It “done”.
