Am I the only person who almost never checks the expiration dates on herbs and spices?

Hola .. :)

I want regular old time .. you know, the time that was the actual time before the boneheads decided to invent DST ..

Well, no donating blood today! Last time they canceled the drive at the last minute. Today my iron was too low to donate. I bet that is why I have been sleeping better this week. Darn it.

Oh well, Saturday night and I sat at home all alone. Isn't it wonderful? But, I gained 2 lbs last week dating. This is not a good thing. Don't guys want to do something other than eat? View attachment 984221

Happy Sunday everyone. Hope it is a relaxing day. I don't think I am going to do one darn thing.

:wub:y'all
I have not been able to donate blood because of all the meds I was on in Africa and India.

My last trip to the Dr I was down to 204. That makes a total of 45 lbs. this year. My jeans size has gone from 48/34 to 38/34. I can't believe the cost of Wranglers these days.

The last few days have been relaxing. I guess that I should do more than sit in front of my computer.

What an accomplishment. You should be very proud of yourself. How tall are you? You have some long legs.

It is supposed to get up to 80 degrees today! Sheesh! I took a bag to the attic and started throwing away stuff but it was already getting too warm. I am not sure why I keep starting new projects before I completed the ones I started with. It is no wonder that it all seems overwhelming.

Hope everyone has a great start to their week.

Hola .. :)

Well, tomorrow the madness will end, oh, well maybe it won't end since anyone that loses will claim a rigged election ..

Yesterday, after spending the bulk of the day mulching and cleaning up sticks and leaves, I was too tired to fix anything to eat and I really did not want to go anywhere for a sit down meal .. so, I thought I would try the new and improved Subway menu, get a 12" and eat half and the other half Monday ..

Went thru my coupon stash and found a Subway sheet .. problem was, it expired the day before .. called the closest one to me and they would not still honor the coupon .. so, I went on line and had a coupon there .. problem was, you had to order in the app to get it ..

I'm so tired of this whole app bit, it's not even funny .. I don't want Doordash or Grubhub, I don't want to order in these silly apps, I don't want to provide a CC number .. I simply want to get my food ..

Ended up fryin' up a couple grilled cheese and crackin' open a can of Pringles I was saving for a special occasion .. added ham to the grilled cheese .. big glass of white Zin .. in the recliner with my dog watching "Weird' .. the Al Yakovich movie on the ROKU network ..

The movie was surprisingly good and the ROKU network is free ..

Whichever way you lean, do get out and vote if you have not done do already ..

Likewise. NO, none of them get my CC#. Hard enough to keep one's ID (semi?) secure without putting more info out there.

I prefer not to use apps, but have used them in a pinch. I’ve made it to work more than a few times to realize that I left my lunch at home. If that happens on a particularly crappy day at work where I just can’t get away to go grab something, it’s nice to have someone bring it to you! I hate paying all the extra BS fees associated with it, but I guess convenience comes at a price.

Hubs, on the other hand, uses apps for everything. He bought me an electric toothbrush last year that has an app. A TOOTHBRUSH. WITH AN APP. GOOD GRIEF. I refuse to use the app because I’ve been brushing my teeth just fine without one for 46 years and I see no need to start using one now!

Okay, I'm just going to go ahead and confess. I bought another pair of shoes today. I only went to Aldi's to pick up a few groceries. In my defense, I do not have a dark teal-colored pair and it will go nicely with a teal shirt I have.

I am not sure what has gotten into me. I got dressed up this morning and put on my contacts and makeup just to go to Home Depot. I have never done that before. Well, you never know when you will see someone you know or someone you would like to know. Either way. . . I am going to be prepared.

I am going scooterpootin' with a friend tomorrow. He is going to take me to this shooting range to check it out. I signed up for the concealed carry class and it is on Dec. 3rd. I am so excited to finally be checking something off my list.

He had a few other places but I am not sure where. He also asked if I would go down to his sister's to visit. I haven't seen her in years. I always liked his family much more than I did my own. heehee

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Not that tall. I'm the shortest male on my mom's side of the family. I'm 6'2" my uncle is 6' 7'. One thing I like to wear are western boots. The real reason for the 34" inseam.

One of the nice things about Oklahoma is there is no need for a CC permit. We have what is referred to as Constitutional Carry. But then again, I think people should be able to have a minimum score. I have a neighbor I have taken to a range and at 7 yards she has never been able to hit the torso target.

I tend to agree with you but I think it is anyone's right to carry or conceal a gun. This inconvenience and cost are not your average thug or criminal. As with everything, it boils down to revenue. I am going to try my best to be better than your neighbor.

Yeah right. Dad was 6'2" and I considered him tall. It seems to me most men are shorter than they used to be. I am not sure if I have ever stood beside someone that is 6'7".

Good morning. Yesterday it was 76 and lovely but today it's only supposed to get to 57. Looks like the colder temps will be taking over now. Maybe those couple days of warmth was our Indian Summer.

Gotta go vote today and then come home and make a boatload of juice to last us a couple months while we're at our daughters. There's hardly any new houses being listed for sale now so unless the perfect house turns up we'll be taking over 2 bedrooms at our daughter's house for the holidays.
My last trip to the Dr I was down to 204. That makes a total of 45 lbs. this year. My jeans size has gone from 48/34 to 38/34. I can't believe the cost of Wranglers these days.
Wow! That's great! What kind of diet have you been on to loose 45 lbs.

Ugh! I've got the same problem. While working on one thing I pass something else that needs doing and that leads to something else that needs doing and the next thing you know I've got 6 things not quite finished. Lately I've been forcing myself to stay on task but there's just so much to do. I should just pick one room and finish it before moving on. Or, I could just leave it for the movers and let them deal with it!!

I think it's called finding yourself in your new life. You should enjoy every minute in those new shoes!! It's about time.

Scooterpootin'? Never heard that term before.

I guess I got that word from my mom. The Urban Dictionary says Scooter Pooting (I always made it one word) is the act of shopping, running errands, or going around town to finish odd jobs.

Online, slang defines scooter-poot as just riding around usually on a Saturday night to see your friends, or to be seen by your friends, with no particular purpose.

The Rat defines scooterpootin' as getting out of the house for no particular reason except to enjoy the day. If I were to be completely honest it also means avoiding what really needs to be done for the sake of sanity.

Morning, all.

Rumor has it the rain is done for a bit, so clear skies means cooler temps. 30, heading for 45.

Here it's ALL vote by mail / drop box, and has been for many years, and our county for longer. (Yes, there are polling sites for late registrations and in person voting.) So there's a paper trail to address any claimed issues.

Ours were dropped in a couple weeks ago :)

Thank you and I just know I will. I also think it has been a long time coming for me. I have places to go and this o'l gal is not going barefooted anymore.

That is exactly what I am talking about. I want to do so much in a short period of time but it just does not work out that way. I wish I could get "on task" as you talked about. I am getting some things checked off my list but not nearly quickly enough for my liking.

I quite like the various fast food apps. I particularly like the benefits of having a payment setup (yes, giving them a CC#). I don't have to dig out my wallet while strapped into the driver's seat (and worse, replace it). I also like the curbside service. When there is a long line for the drive-thru, I indicate on the app that I have arrived and my order goes into the queue just as though I was at the head of the line. I park, shut off the motor, and read from my tablet until someone knocks on my window with my order. No inching forward in line, burning gas, with nothing to do, and no entertainment. And because they don't begin my order until I arrive, I can take my time making up the order at home while consulting with anyone else who wants something. They also have quite a few app-only deals which gives me time to dig through them and pick the most advantageous.

I'm not really this cynical, but I like to pretend to be. I took advantage of the age provision to vote in advance. I'm a one-issue voter which simplifies my choices, although it sometimes means voting for a candidate that I don't like on many other issues.
