had my follow up with the doc yesterday, and she decided that I didn’t need blood pressure meds just yet.
That is wonderful. No need to be on medication unless it is needed. There were going to cut mine in half and I talked her into going off of it. I kept an eye on it and it has been fine. I never was a big salt fan but I do think exercise lowers it. Keep a check on it.

That is awfully nice to get a book so your co-worker can read it. I used to read on my Paperwhite but now I just use my phone. I borrowed a series of books from my cousin and I do not like holding books myself. I could not wait til I finished them and I'm pretty sure I won't be borrowing any more. Enjoy your read.

Morning, all.

Rain came back yesterday, and looks to be staying around for a bit. Snow level around 3500', so no shovels needed here :)

I used to read on my Paperwhite but now I just use my phone.

Yes, my phone gets a good workout via the Kindle app, but I also still go through a lot of paper as well.

Good morning. Yesterday was the b-day party. It was mass chaos, but everyone had a great time. Jungle John came with his snakes and alligator. He was very informative and funny and the kids sat on the floor in front of him like perfect little angels - until he was done when they instantly reverted back to raving maniacs especially when it came time to open presents.

Most of the parents stayed and really enjoyed the food I made so it felt good that the festivities all were successful and we've got leftovers to eat today so we don't have to worry about cooking tonight.
What is up with the minimal posting around here? I hope that means everyone has a more exciting life than me. View attachment 989663

It has become a Fri-Yay night thing but I am doing dinner/movie night again with my friend. He wanted to bring something but I told him I wanted to cook. It's more fun when it is not expected. heehee He is so o'l school. He said that was fine but give him the receipt so he could pay me for it. I am sure there are still guys around like him but I just have not run across many in my lifetime. It is nice.

I used to take my aunt a plate of food when I made meatloaf because she said it was so good so that is what is on the menu for tonight. I also like having slices frozen in the fridge for a quickie. I bought some fresh brussels sprouts too so I am going to air-fry them again since we liked them before. Going to serve with mashed potatoes and garlic cheddar biscuits. View attachment 989664 I have apple strudel to bake while we watch the movie. The house will smell so good. (I hope) They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach so you can't say I am not trying! View attachment 989667

My cousin is coming into town this weekend so I will try to stop by there for a visit but other than that, I have nothing else. Anyone here got any exciting plans for the weekend? I'm never nosy, I'm inquisitive. View attachment 989666

Have a great day you quiet folk heehee!
Isn't it so satisfying when people like the food you lovingly made? All the work and mess is worth it.
-16 up here.
Ugh! If I lived where the temps were like that I'd just hibernate until Spring-next to a roaring fire in the fireplace with a nice bowl of soup! Our temps warmed up a bit on Sunday and today we'll be at 50 so the kids will be outside running around when I pick up the little guy at 1:15 today.
Hi, Lizards!

I don’t post a lot, mainly because I am boring. I go to work, come home, do the necessary stuff, and that’s about it. Today me and Hubs went to WalMart…we don’t do that too often because he hates shopping. Unfortunately, that’s the biggest excitement I’ve had in a few days! Oh, I did buy a new book while we were there. “The Institute” by Stephen King. I may get started on that tonight. I have the Kindle app on my iPad, but I thought I’d buy the print version in case my coworker wants to borrow it when I’m done. He is a big Stephen King fan, too.

I had my follow up with the doc yesterday, and she decided that I didn’t need blood pressure meds just yet. She thinks if I exercise and cut out the salt, I’ll be fine. I hope she is right! I was told to check my BP a few times a week and call her if it starts creeping higher. It was high in the office, but far lower than last time. The pain from my neck is much better than it was, so I feel like that may have been part of it, too.

Hubs made an online order at Lowe’s, and we picked that up today. It was the first time I had experienced using those “locker” thingies. It felt like something I may have seen in The Jetsons cartoons lol. I guess that’s the new thing, as I saw that our WalMart has a new section of them in the front of the store. Some of those lockers looked like they may be tough for a short person to reach...seems like it would defeat the point if you had to chase someone down to get your stuff out for you. Hopefully I won’t have to find out!

I hope you all are having a good weekend
How nice of you to buy the book with your friend in mind. We've gotten so attached to our kindles that I can't remember the last time I read an actual book.
We haven't had a problem with porch pirates so I haven't had to use the locker thingies yet. Yes, an upper locker could be a problem that I hadn't thought of. Surely someone would be around to help you?

Morning, all.

More rain here, maybe backing off tomorrow, or Wednesday, or.... ;)

But no snow, temps in the mid 40s.

Yesterday was the b-day party. It was mass chaos,

Isn't that what kids' b-day parties are supposed to be? :)

Good Wednesday morning! Thought I would pop in before I head for the gym. That treadmill is calling my name.

They are calling for snow here Saturday night and Sunday morning. It is getting too warm for it to amount to anything if we really do get any. But I am in NC and soon as it is mentioned around here, all the bread and milk shelves become empty.

I love to see it fall and guess I will miss it. They are just calling for rain on the coast which is where I will be. YAY! I hate I will not get a boat ride but I don't care if it rains. I am sure I will have a good time anywhere I go.

I am sure of one thing, I will not pack as much as I did last time.

We are only staying 4 or 5 nights this time and last time it was ridiculous what all I took. In my defense, I did wear everything I took and every pair of shoes too. heehee

He does not have internet down there and last time I had a hard time on my phone. Could not find ECF on Tapatalk like I used to do and the browser was doing weird things. Just wanted you to know just in case someone noticed I was not posting.

Hope everyone is doing well and having fun!

Afternoon! Whew, after dropping the boys off at school I came back and started working on the kitchen and doing the laundry. It's 4:30 and I'm still doing laundry. Geez these kids go through a lot of clothes!

So, Hux just had a 1/2 day of school today. He starts at 9:00 and gets out at 11:30 - AFTER they have lunch! I asked him how much time the teacher had to teach and he just said "not much". No kidding. It seems a lot of parents are upset and I don't blame them.

Are you kidding?? Of course we'd notice if you weren't around!!!

So, how many pairs of shoes are you taking? You do know that especially when you're traveling you're allowed to wear clothes more than once. Mix and match 'em! Nobody will notice.

So when do you leave? Might as well also ask - when will you be back?

Forgot to mention, early tomorrow morning our daughter and the boys are flying to Colorado to see hubby get his wings pinned on his uniform. Say a prayer for Kate, she's traveling with a very busy 4 year old who sometimes throws tantrums and her 6 year old. The 6 yo is fine by himself, but put him with his younger brother and all bets are off.

This also means that Mike and I will have some peace and quiet until their return on Sunday, just in time for the Super Bowl. I'll figure out some food for them because they'll be hungry after their flight and who doesn't want to eat while watching football?

GO EAGLES!!!!

Last time I will admit that I took 5 pairs of shoes to match my outfits. This time is going to be a different story and I am going to do exactly as you suggested. I will take two pairs because it is going to rain and I might need a dry pair. I think that will do me just fine. As far as outfits, I think 2 shirts and one pair of jeans will be more than enough (plus what I am wearing down). And just one robe. (I took 2 last time with matching slippers) heehee I cannot budge on my pillows but I will only take 2 instead of the 3 I took last time. Oh, and I am going to stick with like colors so I will not have to take 4 different colored cell phone cases. See? I am getting better.

We leave in the morning at 7 or 7:30. He has not realized yet that I prefer exact times. At first, he said he didn't know how long we would stay. I told him I need to know because I had medication I had to pack. So he has narrowed it down to Monday or Tuesday. I can work with that although I still would prefer to know for sure. I am working on being more of a "fly by the seat of my pants" kinda gal. I have I have only had minimal success but at least I am working on it.

I am well aware of all my idiosyncrasies. But I have come to accept most just a part of my uniqueness.

Here it is 8:16 and I have not even gotten out my duffel bag yet. And I need to go shower, shave and wash my hair. It was my plan to wait until the very last minute so I would not have time to think of all the things I might need and overpack. I'll let you know if it worked.

I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week and a great weekend. I'll try my phone browser for getting on here but like I said, last time it was doing all kinds of crazy things and for once, I don't think it was me.

Morning, all.

Seems we have summer for a day, temp said to get into the 60s (well, that IS our preferred summer temp, although it does go higher ;) ).

Oh, and I am going to stick with like colors so I will not have to take 4 different colored cell phone cases.

Basic black, goes with anything :)

Holy geez Batman. I got up at 5am to take Kate and the boys to the airport. There were a lot of cars on the road. I couldn’t believe how many people are ‘up’ at that time of morning.

When I got back at 6:30am, I went straight back to bed and got up at a civilized 8:30am.

Good morning on Super Bowl Sunday!

Gonna be a busy day. I'd painted Kate's powder room a beautiful dark kelly green last year and she was supposed to go back and do the touch ups after it dried. The schedule she has for the boys and work left her no time to do it so I'm going to work on that today.

I'm going to prepare chicken breasts topped with slices of cream cheese, bacon bits and a sprinkle of cheddar cheese. Then tomorrow I just have to pop it in the oven, make some smashed potatoes and a vegetable and we'll have a fantastic dinner.

We'll be picking Kate and the boys up at the airport at 11:45 tonight. Fortunately we're only about 1/2 hr away. It's supposed to be raining which hopefully will put a damper on any destructive celebrations when the Eagles win. For the life of me it makes no sense that people start smashing things when they're happy. It would have been nice to stay home to watch the game, but we can't see her Ubering it home with the boys and their carseats and luggage late at night,

GO EAGLES!!!
