I miss people when I do not see them post. I was missing Diver for a while and did some research and found where I thought he had passed. I did not want to say anything until I was sure. I wrote to his daughter on FB and she did confirm that he passed away in December. She did not offer any other information and I did not ask but I did tell her that he was very well-liked and would be missed by his vaping family. Rest in peace Jerry.

Oh my goodness. Thank you for posting this. Our life these past few months has been so crazy that I haven't been able to post much, but I have thought of him and others since they hadn't posted in awhile.

I sure know what you mean there.

Yes, I had a very bad feeling. On his FB page, he had not posted since November I think and he said he had fallen asleep at the computer and fell. He posted a picture and he did not look like what I remembered at all. I do remember feeling some depression within his posts. He so missed his wife and it is a nice thought to think they have reunited. He was always so nice to me. Of course, everyone here is.

I wonder when any of 'us' stops posting if they've passed on. Thanks (not quite the right word) for looking into this and letting us know. He has been and will be missed around here.

Morning, all.

Dry here again, but the temp hasn't started up much. Yet.

Heavy dew kept the grass wet too long, so did some whacking instead. Maybe today...

I did not want to say anything until I was sure. I wrote to his daughter on FB and she did confirm that he passed away in December.

Dang. Not good news, but thanks for the update. :(

For the past 30 years, the GOP has pursued a consistent strategy: Find a misunderstood or marginalized group, convince voters that the members of that group pose an existential threat to society, and then ride to victory on the promise of using state power to crush them .. and, sometimes, it works .. 'Build a Wall'

Pretty standard practice for any wanna-be autocrat, find any minority, demonize them to consolidate your devotees... After all, they never say what they're FOR, just what they're against...

The people, of sound mind, need to vote the extremist fascists out of local, state and federal government.

Doesn't work when the State is gerry mandered.

Hola .. :|

I've been in' forums' since back during USENET / the BBS System / AIM, etc .. people come and go for various reasons and I prefer to think they simply moved on .. it is depressing to find out that any member has passed away .. in fact, the truth is, I'd probably rather not know .. I have had enough death in real life ..

Not knowing leaves that relationship, if that's what you want to call it, in limbo .. which is fine with me ..

We generally converse in bits and bytes, gone are the days when we would meet monitor to monitor via Google Hangouts .. during the pandemic days, I tried on several occasions to get that back rolling, but there seemed no interest ..

We've seen a lot of people come and go over the years .. I always promised that if I decided to throw in the towel, I would state that so there would be no question .. I continue with that commitment ..

Any relationship of any sort is fluid, especially on-line .. years ago, it would bug me when a person dropped out and I even wrote a few eulogies back then .. ECF has dwindled down as well from the old days ..

In other news, April showers did, in fact, bring May flowers ..

I did not mean to make anyone sad.

I guess I am such a curious person that I like to know. I have been told if I wonder to far, I'll get lost.

I hope someone lets you know of my demise. Instead of wondering where I am, I want you to remember if I made you laugh or gave you a good feeling. That is all that will be left of me.

I know what you mean though. Losing my dad and sister within 5 months of each other made me start thinking about my morality. I have way too many regrets and it seems I have always taken care of everyone else. It's just me now and I need to get busy living.

I just took a picture the other day myself. It is mixed in with my Peonies. Not sure how it got there because I only have one. So this is for you. . .

I have several different kinds of Peonies. My dad told me this was a Japanese Peony. I am not sure but it is different than the others.

Beautiful, @Rat2chat2 . Thank you. This is the first time in my life I have not had a single flower. I once grew 1200 roses, now I have none. Makes me sad but I couldn't bring them with me when we moved, don't have it in me anymore.

I am going to the garden shop today but doubt I will get any flowers, you never know though.

Got the yard mowed for another week. I think I am getting more used to the mower and feeling a little more confident. At least all the wheels stayed on the ground this week.

I changed direction just like Dad always did. I am not sure if I am going to be able to do diagonals though. Last night I walked around looking at my straight lines and gave myself an "attagirl".

    Morning, misfits.

Another day of summer here, with the heat wave still promised for the weekend. 90 here is definitely not good.

Got the grass shorter yesterday, might attempt the rest of the whacking while it's still a liveable temp. Or not :)

At least all the wheels stayed on the ground this week.

Uh, yes, that's a good thing!

I have been admiring the sky twice. Once I got hooked on a clothesline pole and once on a low Dogwood limb. I push mow around everything now. It is quite scary though. I just slowly go backward from whence I came.

Might just be easier if I took the darn canopy off. That's what I forget about.

You need to go around your yard and get rid of all the 'head knockers'. Any tree limb you can't drive your tractor under without ducking is a candidate to remove. That was a general rule for me when it came time to prune trees.
