It is another gorgeous sunny morning here. I will be glad when the sun moves just a bit because right now, it reminds me that I am not such a good window washer.

It is already 62 outside and supposed to get up to 81. I probably should go take a short walk before I get busy with all that estate stuff my lawyer sent me. She sent 9 pdf's of stuff I need to figure out. When they give me my final bill, should I give them mine?

My list of people I do not care to date includes men who dress up as clowns and who have thighs smaller than mine. I just added lawyers to that list.

Grrrr

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Morning, all. Still raining here, and just like yesterday they claim it's going to back off. If it backs off like it did yesterday, only another half inch of rain.

When they give me my final bill, should I give them mine?

Well, you could try, but they'll probably just say that you're paying them to tell you what to do...

What a gorgeous day it was yesterday and today - well until late this afternoon when it looked like it was going to start pouring any minute. That's ok though. All 4 grandkids spent the night in 2 tents in the back yard. Evidently they really enjoyed it. Then of course they ran around like lunatics in the morning, laughing and having such a good time. So wonderful to see the cousins enjoying each other so much.

Of course there was tons of delicious food. So much for the diets. We had a salad for dinner tonight to assuage the guilt. Our son picked up a Tres Leche 1/4 sheet cake for dessert from Trader Joes. Wow was it good!! Must have had a bazillion calories, but it was worth every crumb.

I have only had one UTI in my life until this week. Yay me. It wasn't much fun to go to the doctor when I had insurance. I enjoyed it even less with no insurance. Oh well, gotta do watch gotta do.

I have been taking it easy for 2 days and it just feels weird. I miss walking but my knee seems to be enjoying the rest. I am not sure walking is as healthy as I thought. View attachment 994950

Had the septic tank pumped this morning (it had been 5 years). My appointment was at 8 and he called my cell phone at 7:15 and said he was in the driveway. I had not even had my coffee but at least I was dressed.

Dad has used the same man for as long as I can remember so I called him too. He is a very nice man and they are quite a religious family. I am just not so sure I would put "Jesus Saves" on my truck if I was him. When he found out that Dad had passed we talked about maintenance on the house. He gave a referral for a plumber, electrician, and a well man. I thought that was quite nice of him and I really appreciated it.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week.
Glad to hear you're feeling better.

How nice of that man to give you leads on other professionals if you have the need. I'd much rather get a referral from someone than to pick a name off the internet. Our realtors have been a great reference for repairmen.

I couldn't get on the computer last night because I ate too much greasy food. My aunt, cousin, and I went to Bonbon's and no one wanted to split anything with me so I just got the fried pickles appetizer and 10 chicken drumettes. I brought 5 of them home and ate 2 of them this morning at 3:30. Grrrr See? No willpower if it is in the house. I am going to freeze the other 3 for another day.

It is cloudy this morning but that's okay because it does not show the poor job I did on window washing.
1laugh.gif
I feel a little better each day but still have several more days of antibiotics. I have at least finished one of them this morning. I really hate having to take those but sometimes you just have to do whatcha gotta do.

Yes, I am glad I figured out a way to print off my dad's laptop but it still aggravates my friend Cindy and me that we can't get my Chromebook hooked up like it was before I switched to AT&T. And sometimes you just have to let things go too.

I was not feeling well last week and did not reach my walking goal for 2 days but I still got in 80,999 for the week. No wonder my knee bothers me.
1YES.gif
I miss the gym's equipment but it was so pretty outside, I really enjoyed walking outside and soaking up a little Vitamin D.

The coffee does not seem to be having the desired effect this morning. I could sit right here and rock myself back to sleep in this recliner.

Morning, all.

Looks like our rain is done for a while, with the temp to go up all week, and maybe close to 90 by Sunday. Another couple days of summer might be ok... as long as they don't get too carried away!

I couldn't get on the computer last night because I ate too much greasy food.

Fingers kept slipping off the keys? ;)

it still aggravates my friend Cindy and me that we can't get my Chromebook hooked up like it was before I switched to AT&T.

Yeah, that would be aggravating. Have you ane your friend looked at any of this?

(Although if it worked before, unless a Chrome update changed things, it should be on that list...)

Hola .. :|

It's apparent that the flashpoints and talking points in the upcoming (I dread it) election cycle will be abortion, gay and trans rights, racial and gender equity, and climate change .. those that support these concepts are considered 'woke', those that don't thump their chests and declare, 'We are the real Americans' and thus, what we believe should be the law of the Land ..

The word 'woke' connotates waking up, understanding at some level the issues and attempting to take a non-biased approach tempered with a view of History ..

Those on the opposite end of the spectrum would use 'woke' as a slur .. which makes no sense to me since when was attempting to understand a bad thing .. ?? IMO, these are the same people that wish for times to return to how they were 100 years ago ..

It's strange to me that the pro-business faction in the great State of Florida, is essentially in a feud with Disney (the states largest employer) over Disney supporting the LGBTQ community .. and just seems like a deeper, more societally motivated issue .. again, based on the idea that 'Yes, we can turn back time 100 years if we just try hard enough .. how dare a corporate entity go against what we, the power brokers, want for this Country .. ??'

A host of legislation has either passed in various Statehoods or is under consideration :: aimed at stifling conversation about racism and oppression, students having to seek permission from parents before being taught about 'human sexuality' ( I suppose they should learn on their own or the Parents will step up with a curriculum) .. ban school libraries from housing, and teachers from using, 'books that make as their primary subject the study of lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender issues or recreational sexualization' .. The bill clarifies that recreational sexualization means “any form of non-procreative sex.” ..

These and many other issues, when taken together, combine to paint a portrait of 'if we can't change the adults that are out there already, well, by God, we can properly mold those still in school so they grow up to more resemble our Agenda .. the America of 100 years ago ..'

All over a small percentage of the existing population as it relates to the LGBTQ community .. this is nothing more than demonizing a group of people that these legislators feel are in such small numbers, they don't have the power to fight back at the ballot box .. and, at the same time, attempting to foist an additional layer of outright bigotry on those that are susceptible to this rhetoric ..

For the past 30 years, the GOP has pursued a consistent strategy: Find a misunderstood or marginalized group, convince voters that the members of that group pose an existential threat to society, and then ride to victory on the promise of using state power to crush them .. and, sometimes, it works .. 'Build a Wall'

The guise this all ends up falling under is 'moral values' .. of which, many of these same legislators have themselves in short supply ..

To be clear, my view on gender orientation is much like my view on getting a tattoo at a young age .. until your brain is at least fully developed, don't do it .. simple as that .. that does not mean that your perception of your orientation may be right or wrong, it simply means making a commitment can end up making a mistake ..

I'm sure all of you remember Chastity Bono, who Sonny and Cher would trot out on stage during their TV show .. now known as Chaz Bono, the man .. evidence clearly exists that what we might consider activity outside of the woman / man pairing goes back to ancient Greece .. IOW, these are not new concepts .. and existed in every culture very far back in time ..

Attempting to engineer Society in the Modern World seems like a large mistake .. although, like most things, there will be a faction of zealots and bigots that are more than happy to tag along ..

'Protecting' the children, is a familiar echo of the opposition to civil rights .. I call it attempting to engineer Society ..

It won't work .. I don't think it ever has, at least in the long term ..

As a good many see it, that ^^^ is the problem with the GOP, or rather the GQP (Grand QAnon Party).

I think they will fail miserably once again in the next cycle. In the last election cycle they were defeated. The predicted extremist red wave never materialized. Thank goodness for rationally minded voters.

Good thing the hardcore GQP only represents roughly 30% of the population. (major minority)

Better thing yet, a very solid 60+% of the population does not want anything to do with far-right extremist nonsense.

The people, of sound mind, need to vote the extremist fascists out of local, state and federal government.

Thank you for your post. As usual, I tip my hat to you Willie.

Thank goodness for rationally minded voters.

We have, at least in the past, prided ourselves in being accepting and I don't really think that has changed, fundamentally ..

I do have to sometimes own up to my own bigotry .. (I think we all have some, no matter how your cloth is cut) .. I was at a Casino a while back as two apparently gay men were, essentially, making out on a couch lounge as I tried to enjoy a cocktail and a snack .. I let it go for a few minutes and then walked up and said 'Excuse me, although I really don't care about your orientation, this is simply not the venue to put it on public display ..' They politely apologized and left ..

Now, that story would have held true for me had it been a man / woman or two women ..

Although I don't care what takes place behind closed doors, I don't believe in excessive shows of affection with a public space .. holding hands, a quick kiss, well, alright .. just don't subject the general populace to your overt life style .. it's in bad taste and disrespectful ..

I'd never advocate putting these folks back in the closet ..

It doesn't matter to me if it's folks from the LGBTQ community or straight people making out in a public setting. My feelings are if someone doesn't like it, they should ignore it or move. I'm fine with it, don't care, never bothered me. I don't see any difference compared to when I was making out with my girlfriend back in the day.

I mean, making out in public is not the same as having sex in public. Making out is simple show of romantic affection between two people. It doesn't involve anyone else, it's not anyone else's business.

And very honestly, it's Love, something our world needs a whole lot more of.

Not so long ago we were at a restaurant enjoying some family time. The folks at the table next to us didn't like my daughter and her wife holding hands. They said something nasty. I cannot repeat on ECF what my daughter told them. And good for her!!! I stood up and very firmly told them "if you don't like it, leave" while pointing to the exit. They left.

The restaurant owner saw and heard it all. She quickly came to our table, apologized and said "good for you, I was just about to ask them to leave". We're good friends with her.

I am a very strong supporter of the LGBTQ community. They've been wrongly put through the ringer by the far-right and all their boneheaded crap.

You weren't there ..

LOLz. No I wasn't there with you and I didn't see what you saw. And even if I was there, I would have done nothing. Not my business. I wouldn't care!!!

I would not have made it my business.

I merely offered my own personal opinion and experience in my post. My opinion was not specific to you. :)

there is no way I'll put up with genitalia groping

Even if they were touchy feely with each others genitalia, I still wouldn't give a crap. As long as their privates were, ummm, kept private and not out in the open.

If it was bothersome to YOU why not just move and avoid making a scene?
You pushed your personal morals on that gay couple.
And, likely upset them. But I understand, you don't care.

I mean, dang, there very likely have been straight couples doing the same thing at other places you've been at (and perhaps that night at the casino you were at ) and you most likely did not pay any attention. But because it was two gay men . . .

Get a room ..

Yes exactly, if attempting to, or actually having sex in public, I agree. Seek private quarters. :)

If however, said couple are in a private custom van in a public parking place, minding their own business having AND enjoying wild SEX, I could care a less. It isn't my, yours or anyone else's, business, at all.

Especially these days where people pull out guns and shoot people.

Will you shoot a video of that? Just kidding and teasin' ya.

I get it Willie, I do. I understand.

I've just been adding my two-cents. And I know full well my two-cents isn't worth anything at all.
Just another nutty human sharing their opinions and thoughts.

I thought we were just having a pleasant exchange. I apologize if I upset you. I didn't mean to upset you.

Agreed. No, no, no you didn't tick me off at all.

FWIW, I used to own an old 70s Dodge customized van. It had a nice full sized bed in the back. The gal, who became my wife (RIP), and I had wild sex in it more than once in public parking lots.

I mean, we couldn't enjoy makin' love at her parents or my parents homes.

Most guys and their girlfriends I knew did the same things. Didn't you?

I worked on the estate this morning. Went to the bank that is right up the road to get 2 papers notarized. Their notary was not going to be there for a few days. I asked where the next closest Carter Bank was and had to GPS myself over there. The branch manager said he could not notarize public records regarding an estate. I told him I was a Notary for thirty-some years and it did not matter what the paper said because his job was only to make sure it was me signing it in his presence. Grrrr He asked me where the Estate account was and I nicely told him at his bank for the time being but it could change at any moment. He left the office and came back in a notarized my two documents. It is not wise to irritate a woman who has a UTI and did not sleep well.
1YES.gif

Then the GPS woman took me around in circles 3 times trying to direct me to the post office so I could mail those papers to my attorney. I finally found a road that I was vaguely familiar with and I took the scenic route home without her guidance.

I called AT&T yesterday about the line running through my yard that they have never buried. She said there was no ticket to have it done but she would have someone out here today. He did show up but only to mark where he wants to put the line. Grrrr Said he would make a ticket and it would be done in 3-4 weeks. Not much I can do about that but that is poor communication and customer service. He was nice though so I was nice.

Just seems like nothing is easy for me lately but I know that is life. I just do what I can and keep on going. I am positive that things could always be worse.

After supper which was only wild rice in my cream of chicken soup, I decided since it was cool I would do all the trim work tonight and do the riding part tomorrow when it is going to be much hotter. It took me two hours to do that and the edging but it's done for another week and I am elated that it is over and done. The riding will not take long at all. Wish I could walk 13 miles an hour.
