After 7 month's of looking we did it. Janet got a new house for her Mother's Day gift. Wow! What a day. We walked through the house this morning at 10:30am. Spent a couple hours there looking things over a discussing 'stuff' with our realtor, Julie.

Julie started dealing with the seller's realtor on her way home. Before we got home she called and said we have to act fast as there are two bids on it already and the seller is deciding between the two.

The it was all afternoon Julie negotiating with the other realtor 'till we finally finished the deal around dinner time. Twice we almost lost it because the other realtor was anxious to close the deal with the buyer and get on with his day. God bless Julie she was persistent and kept the him from doing that until we could electronically sign the appropriate documents and get them to the other realtor. If it wasn't for her persistence we'd probably have lost the deal.

Janet and I are still decompressing from the days events ... nerves, anxiety, wondering, waiting ... seems like that's all we did all day.

    Anyway here's our new homestead.

@MikeE3 and @Janet H Congratulations!! What a fantastic Mother's Day gift! I'm very happy for you. The house looks great and worth the months of limbo. Now you can look forward to the next round of fun - the closing, moving, and making it your own.

For Mother's Day, I bought my husband a new lawnmower. The guy who has done our yard since DH had his heart issues needed heart surgery himself. He was inexpensive and reliable, so we stayed with him for the past few years. I wonder what DH will get me for Father's Day, he may need to up his game. LOL.

    Morning, all.

Heat continues, "only" 88 here yesterday, and numerous daily high records broken. More of the same today, but maybe backing off a little after that. Maybe.

After 7 month's of looking we did it. Janet got a new house for her Mother's Day gift.

Nice catch! I presume the location is also good for your needs?

It'll work ... we didn't hit our 'ideal' 1/2 way split between both 'kids'. We much closer to our son than daughter but it's still only about 1/2 hr+ drive to her place. So it'll work ... life is full of compromises.

Location, location, location ... the closer we got to Kate's the higher the housing costs were. So we did what we did because we liked the place and it came in under budget, even though we paid more than the house was worth. But that's just the market now. We had to outbid two other offers already on the table.

Sorry in advance for the loooong post.
    batting eyelashes.gif

Just got all caught up from my hiatus. And what a wonderful hiatus it was!
    Bouncing.gif

Be happy for me that I did not have a chance to get on here and post. heehee

It was different than I had pictured the weekend to be. I have not been able to adjust the seat on the lawnmower so I could comfortably mow. I had to lean forward because dad was 6'2". I thought we would do something fun but Saturday after I fixed him a big breakfast, he told me to go bring the mower up to the driveway. He adjust my seat and changed the seat weight to mine. I cannot believe the difference and can't wait to mow again to see how it does.

I still had Cindy's pressure washer and he asked if he could clean it up because he saw me cleaning it with Windex to get the blood off of it from Dad's last mowing fall. He pressure-washed it and it looks like a brand-new mower even though it is 17 years old.

    exmark.jpg

He sawed off the Dogwood limb that I ran up on with it so that will not happen again. So now I just have to be careful around the clothesline poles. I thought that was pretty sweet.

After working all afternoon on that mower, he grilled me a ribeye steak that I think was the best I had ever eaten. Could have been because dad has not let me grill out in about six years. He asked me how I like my steak and he brought it in absolutely perfect. Ummmm It was awesome.

You know how I fixed the back porch up to be all "me"? It started to thunder and I told him we were supposed to get some rain. As soon as it started, he took my hand and said come on and he took me to the back porch. He opened all the windows so we could hear the rain and even the door and wanted to lay on the floor and watch the lightning with me and that is exactly what we did. That was a first for me. My ex never did anything remotely that romantic. If I had asked him to do that he would have just laughed at me. The few older men I have dated have been very good to me but this is the first won that was sentimental. It was quite refreshing, to say the least.

He drives a Peterbilt for a living and I still can't believe he thought it was worth renting a truck and driving 8 hours one way to spend two days with me.

I hate to be selfish but I wish he could have stayed a little longer. It could have just been a magical weekend. Who knows where this could go or even if I want it to go anywhere? I have made it very clear that I do not want a long-distance relationship or any type of commitment yet and he said that's fine with him and that he ain't going anywhere. We will see. He is talking about how he wants me to visit him in Florida. It is a 630-mile trip and I have never driven that far. I want to fly one day but not today. I guess time will tell. It would be a new adventure for me.

His sister has stage 4 COPD and was in intensive care. They had to induce a coma for a couple of days but when they tried to take out the ventilator, she could not breathe so they put the ventilator back in. The family decided they would try it again but if she could not breathe, they were going to let her go. Sad situation. Dan called one day last week and sound so sad. Almost in tears and I talked to him like I would anyone and told him not to give up. I have seen my dad come off of one after a week and them not expecting him to pull through and I never gave up hope. Well anyway, they took her off Sunday and she is breathing on her own and they were supposed to move her out of IC today. He called me about thirty minutes after he left to tell me what happened and to thank me for keeping him grounded. I know it could have gone either way but I also know I could have consoled anyone either way too. I love a happy ending!

Well, there I went again and wrote a marathon post. Sorry, but I had to tell someone about my wonderful weekend.
    blinking.gif

Of course, I told my cousin and aunt at supper yesterday. We went to my fav restaurant and I want you to see what I ate every bite of.

burger.jpg Omgosh, is that a burger or what? It was scrumptious.

Okay, now I will let you rest.

So worth the wait. I always believe good things happen to good people. I am so happy for you both and cannot wait to see the real show place that y'all will turn it into. Congrats to you both.

That was me with the bolder holder artillery. That is beautiful. I love it. I am still searching for my new cc. There are just so many things I want right now. September will be here before I know it and I always get me a nice divorce present every year.

How exciting, I am so thrilled for you. I forgot...how did you meet this guy? He sounds like a good one. Hmm, reminds me of that country song, "He's one of the good ones".

Where did you get that burger? I want one. :w00t:
