Gee, I must have missed something @Rat2chat2 . I did not know you were going to visit your new friend. Sounds like you had a great time.

Things have been chaotic here. My daughter's dream job with Disney wasn't so dreamy. She was laid off today due to them reorganizing and outsourcing most of the US jobs to South America to save money.

ETA: where are the pics of the dreamy guy?

    Morning, all.

Sounds like, despite the rush, you're making good progress! :thumb: And hiring out the big clean is smart!!
The last couple of moves we made I had to scrub EVERYTHING! The places were a mess. I swore the next move I made I was going to have it cleaned before we moved in. The woman I had clean for us each month agreed to come and clean for the move so all we'd have to do is put our stuff away. Couldn't be more pleased if we'd hit the lottery!!

Good afternoon to everyone. The little adventurer has returned and is quite content might I add. heehee

You cannot believe how proud I am of stepping out of my comfort zone and enjoying life. I drove for a little over 5 hours and never once got scared. Well, there was one time that I and another truck had to drive off the lane into the shoulder to pass a car that was stopped. It did not scare me at the time but about 10 minutes later, I start getting clammy and thought about what could have happened. But then I was proud of myself for reacting so fast and handling it the way I did.

I also do not have the words to express my wonderful long weekend at that beautiful cabin partly in the water. (if they had been calling for torrential rains, it would have scared me to death) heehee
1cabin.jpg We slept with the sliding door open so we could hear the water and this is the view I saw every morning (after I put on my glasses) heehee

1bedroomview.jpg It was amazing. That rocking chair is where I had my morning coffee (and donut) holding hands with a very nice guy who for some reason seems to really like me. coffee.jpg After we started drinking he handed me his coffee cup and said this says it all about how he felt about me. coffeecup.jpg (I think he is a romantic and I was sopping that up like biscuits with gravy)

That wonderful man cooked my supper two nights on an open wood firepit. There was no propane tank for their gas grill so he improvised. One night we had ribeyes, baked potato, and salad. And the other night we had grilled Italian sausages, corn on the cob, and salad. The man even took me out to eat several times and got me to eat a big breakfast and a lunch. My tummy was like what the heck are you doing and don't stop.
    Let's Eat.gif's Eat.gif

    Firepit.jpg

He asked me if I like flea markets and antique stores and spent most of Saturday visiting several he found close by. I had such a wonderful time and talked to everyone I met. And he did too. Such a friendly guy. We have so many things in common that it is almost scary. He played music on a Bluetooth speaker all weekend and I bet there were not 2 songs that I had never heard from his personal playlist. We sat swinging on the front porch for hours listening and he even sang along to the songs. (not a bad singer at all and I loved that too). swing.jpg

I can't add any more pictures to this post so I am going to have to continue in another one. You had to know I was going to have a mega post.

    Morning, misfits.

A couple days of summer on the schedule, low to mid 80s, still no rain. Except what comes out the end of a hose...

Even better, that you were able to get someone you know does good work!

You cannot believe how proud I am of stepping out of my comfort zone and enjoying life.

 <- A little selfie here

Cataract surgery on my right eye on Wed and follow up yesterday went great. Wow, everything is so clear! Even my left eye that was done on the 9th continues to improve. I'm officially a little old lady sitting here with my readers on my nose so I can see the laptop. I'm good with that

The weather is cooperating and I'm going to really enjoy this last week before going back to the office. I've been spoiled working from home - easy commute, comfy clothes, and feet up in the recliner with the cat napping between my knees. lol.

    Best to everyone!

    Morning, all.

Still summer here, but they've thankfully returned the thermostat to the mid 70s :)

Wife had hers done many years back, and her revelation was that she didn't have to clean her glasses every 10 minutes :)

I did not know you were going to visit your new friend. Sounds like you had a great time.
I was asked to go Friday night at about 9 pm. I left Saturday at 9:15 am. So you found out pretty much right after I did.

That is the way I want to live the rest of what I have left. I want to live. It was an awesome adventure and it far passed my expectations. I took 68 pictures there and only one of them had him in it. He was turned backward so the only thing you can tell is his hair is almost as long as mine. He is a 57-year-old biker and has been a truck driver for 24 years. It goes without saying that everyone here already knows he has facial hair.
    1laugh.gif
Only a awesome stache and a very long goatee. He cannot have a full beard because of hazmat regulations when he has to wear a respirator but I can live with it.

    My daughter's dream job
Believe it or not, I remembered you telling us about your daughter's new job. When I read an article about Disney I was hoping the layoff would bypass your kiddo. Hope the next thing that I am sure she will find, is even better.

Happy Saturday all. Sort of a cloudy morning. Feels like rain to me.

My test result turned out just like I knew it would. Normal TSH is .4 - 4.5. My test came back 53. I really do not know what this doctor is doing. She wanted to put me back on a dosage that she has tested me on and it came back bad. I wrote to her and gave her my suggestions (because sometimes the patient knows best). I have not heard back from her but if she does not listen to what I am telling her, I will have no choice but to change doctors or either go to an endocrinologist. There is NO WAY I am going to go on feeling the way I do. I hate it when people "Jack my Joy". heehee

While I am on the subject of jacking my joy, I have had no problems with my a/c. I decided since dad would never let me have a unit checkup, that I would have the man who installed it six years ago just come and take a look at it to keep it running smoothly.

Here comes the jack my joy. It was 4 lbs low on freon and he could not locate the leak. He worked on it for 4 hours. He says if it was his, he would replace to major parts because it is under warranty. I still have to pay labor and freight cost to get the parts. Yesterday the bill was $485 and I have him $500. The parts do not come in until the middle of June and he could not give me an estimate on the cost, which I understood.

I am not too upset because that is all a part of life and I have the wonderful ability to just handle whatever is thrown my way. I have also told you my superpower was finding good in any bad situation.

I never could get Dad to replace a much need roof. I got a quote last week and was planning to get two more before I chose someone to do it. (that is my standard process) I was talking to the a/c man and he said he has had a lifelong friend that does that for a living and he would tell him to help me out and give me a good price. See? Good coming out of bad. Since I have one quote, I'll let you know if he is really helping me out. heehee View attachment 996081 I would take a recommendation from someone I trust a lot more than I would Google reviews so I am grateful.

Thanks for reading my ramblings and I hope everyone has a lovely day. View attachment 996082

Rained all day. I finally had to get dressed because the AT&T repairman was coming. I could not believe when they buried my cable they left the ground wire 4 inches off the ground where I could not mow or probably would have tripped on. And they took all those annoying little orange flags that went all down my yard to the pack of the house. The little guy was very nice and apologized for such shotty work. Oh well, everything is okay now.

We are supposed to have rain every day this week. I'll let you know how much I get because I bought a new glass rain gauge at Aldi's the other day. I also could not resist buying a metal hot pink Flamingo that lights up. It was only $9.99. It looks so cute on my back porch getaway.porchflamingo.jpg

Hope everyone sleeps well and has a wonderful Sunday. Happy Memorial Day to all. I have no plans. Cue the violins.

    Good Sunday morning.

Rainy and cold here. 65 in the house and I am bundled. Thank goodness for electric throws.
    1YES.gif
I think we are supposed to get a couple of inches today and for the next several days. I sort of wish I had mowed my grass before all this rain. It will be so high. That's okay. I or my aunt will get it mowed. heehee

The coffee was just perfect this morning. Ummmm
    CoffeeYawn.gif
Now I have my insides warmer than the outsides. This is some awfully good canoodling weather.

Since I ate out with my aunt and cousin Friday, they are staying home today. I hate that because I am already starving. Oh well, good day to read a good book with a heated throw.
    1YES.gif

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
