Meet Me in St Louie Louie
My memory says that, when I got my BA, at a State U, there wasn't a semester went by that books were more $$ than my tuition. Of course, that wasn't an "ivy league" school, but a solid education nonetheless. So, yeah, books maybe 500, tuition less, so by today's fees, free.

I'll probably step on some toes (what else is new .. ??) .. however, don't even get me started on the amount of money that gets poured into College Sports ..

Yeah. And, until recently, none of the athletes got anything more than tuition, often not even decent medical coverage for sports injuries... and, of course, the new "NIL" (Name, Image, LIkeness) for college athletes won't get much to any of them other than the top stars.

Ever since it first came up as a 'topic', I've kinda been riding the old fence on the issue of Student Loan forgiveness .. while I understand many young folks get saddled with a big dept load, to me, they went into it with eyes wide open .. I suppose figuring that the degree would be worth it and they would eventually pay up ..
I kind of grew up with the idea that if you borrowed money, you paid it back. Especially if you ever wanted to borrow again.

I have wanted to try fried green tomatoes since I saw that movie and never have fixed them. Last night Gary fixed some delicious ribs. He cooked them in a pressure cooker and then finished them up on the grill and his wife fried some of his green tomatoes. Oh boy, I like them. I doubt there is much that I wouldn't like fried though.

Morning, all.

Still dry here, and they keep turning the thermostat up. Until Wednesday, they claim, at which time they start (slowly) turning it back down. Rain dial is still at zero.

Please send positive thoughts, prayers, and whatever works for you to @Bea-FL.

She's been having some health issues and is set to see a new Dr on Wednesday. Thankfully, she was able to get a referral to someone who didn't have the usual 4 week wait for new patients. She's also fortunate to have a DH who is taking very good care of her.

She isn't online often now, but many of you know her and appreciate her contributions about animals, orchids, and so much more. I'm hoping the power of group support helps her through this difficult time.

Well, the little Rambling Rat has returned once again. I decided to come back last night since my joints told me all day yesterday that the rain was near. I no sooner got my bags in the door until it started pouring.

I think it might be a good idea to wait a couple of days before I get on the scales. Oh, but it was worth it. I had a wonderful time.

I fell in love with Thelma and Louise (her little goats). The littlest one is Louise but they started calling her LouLou. I called her LittleLouLou and I imagine she looks the same way at everyone but I felt like she was smiling at me. They are supposed to be fainting goats but I didn't see them do it and I was not about to scare them. Almost made me want a goat. I said "almost".

I made a better time going down there because I could move with the traffic. Coming back in the dark I was alone most of the time and I was afraid to go much over the speed limit and I definitely do not want a ticket. I still like driving at night even though you do not get to see much. A lot cooler and I get to singing and the miles just fly by. I like this going places.

The driving pillows I bought might have helped a little bit. Not sure why my .... cheek and the back of my thigh pull. It feels like there is a rubberband back there being stretched to the max. Nothing that is going to stop me though. I'm ready to go again.

Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th.

Will do. That explains why we haven’t seen her for quite some time. Thank you for letting us know.

I worked in the attic a bunch today and I think I sweated off most of what I gained while I was away. The fan helped but not much. I think since it is so hot now that it would be best if I worked very early morning or after dark. I do see progress though. There are 5 big bags of garbage that I will get rid of tomorrow. Yay!

I found some more cool things. An old typewriter. I thought I was going to break my back picking it up. It is in really good shape. Maybe it is worth something. Who knows?

I ate supper with my aunt and cousin that came in from South Carolina. Since I am driving so much he asked me if I would bring his mom down to visit him. He said her car needed to be driven on the highway. First of all, I don't like driving other people's vehicles. Does not exactly sound like the fun I have been having going to meet Dan. I really think her kiddos should be taking her. Oops, don't mean to woe is me. Sorry.

Are you still talking to Dan? You haven't mentioned him in awhile.

    Morning, all.

They do keep edging the thermostat up, claiming only for another few days...

    Anchor for a dinghy? ;)

But there might be "collectors" who might want it. I've heard that film cameras are making a sort of come back, so who knows?
