Ugh! The temp was 49 today but it sure felt a lot colder. Even the guys working hard on the bathroom put their coats on when they had to go out even for a short while. Looks like a lot of rain coming in tonight into tomorrow but by Monday it'll be sunny and 57.

Today we went to the paint store to pick out some paint colors. Boy, I suck at this, but I found a picture so I'm stealing their ideas.

My bad - I meant to post this over a week ago.. More pictures from @Bea-FL
It's her largest azelea, about 20-25ft across. I've only seen ones that size (and larger) in Scotland. Her green bean plants are sprouting, and her basil, zinnias, and cosmos are doing well too!

I told her I'd seen folks out in shorts the one day we had temps around 60degrees. She described a Floridian's idea of winter -- temperatures under 60 degrees, wear UGS!

Good morning. Sure glad all that rain yesterday is gone. It's a beautiful sunny morning, but it's only 29 outside, going up to 48. Can't wait for the warmer temps because I need a bunch of potted plants for our back deck.

i did find a flowering plant called Helleborus for sale on the way into the grocery store last week so I bought 2 of them. They look to be doing pretty well where I planted them. Maybe I need some more of them so they're not lonely.

It's back to the paint store today. The dark color we chose for the bathroom doesn't look right and the light color for the hall is way too dark. It's so hard to tell from a paint chip.

Charo .. yes, that Charo .. she's been playing for a long, long time ..

Wow, Charo, haven't heard that name for awhile. Didn't know she was still around.

Is that just 1 azalea bush? I thought it took at least a couple to get that big! It's beautiful. Our azaleas are not in bloom yet, but the weeping cherry trees and magnolias around here are in full bloom. Spring is my favorite time of year!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. It seems like I have been so busy, which is a good thing.

Have not been to the Moose Lodge in forever so we went Friday night because they had Prime Rib.

OMgosh! It was the best I had ever had and I will keep an eye on what they are serving so I can go next time too. It was a huge piece of meat which I had to bring home half because I enjoyed their salad bar. They have a really good one. My only complaint is that they did not have bread with the meal. I think it should have included it but it was no biggie because I didn't need it anyway.

Ken's shoulder was hurting him badly this weekend. I told him to let me help him carry the boxsprings out to his truck when we took it to the dump but no, he had to carry it by himself. And he says I'm stubborn. Oh well, I told him he should go to the doctor because it has bothered him off and on for several weeks now but just like a man. . . he said it will be fine.

My aunt's arm is healing nicely and like a good caregiver, I have been down there every day to change the bandage for her, even though she could. I just think she likes me coming down there.

I did plenty of walking this weekend. Not to mention the vacuuming I did too. You get right many steps in doing chores. The other night I needed to walk so I started reading my book and it must have been really good because I got in a little over 20,000 steps. That was a bit much and my knee agrees with me.

Last week, Ken said something about Manwich which I have not eaten since my kiddos were little. I did add green peppers and onion to it but it was rather tasty for supper. It was a cheap meal way back when but with the cost of hamburger, it is not cheap anymore. I used to not mind going to the grocery store but now, I find it upsetting. Oh well, gotta eat.

I hope everyone has a great start to their week.

Morning, all.

Another sunny day in Phoenix. What a surprise. But they do claim the temp will be in the low 70s, and so far this trip, they've not set any high temp records, unlike the last 3 years. :)

Tell him all the "guys" on the board think he should see a doc? Anything like that that lasts more than a few days DOES need a professional view!

Yeah! The shower maker over is starting to take shape. Gone is the standalone bidet and the shower area has been expanded to a decent size. The old one was small. I mean small, I've seen bigger ones in camper trailers and RV's. If you bent over to wash your legs you had to be careful not to bump your head on the walls or door.

The wall tiles should be going up today.

Remembering Christina, hard to believe she has been gone almost 8 years. She was one of the nicest people I ever met and so talented.

It's coincidental that you should mention her .. I was just watching a documentary on her on ID or some network the other day .. sad

I used to watch 'The Voice', quit it some time back but I do remember her season

Morning, all.

Seems they're still being kind to this traveler, nothing much over 80 until after I head home :) Where it's typical weather, high 40s, low 50s and rain :) Actually looking forward to that, it's all in what you're used to.

I recall like it was yesterday, when I left the PNW (1982) going to Ft. Leonardwood, MO for Basic Training. The climate was so different, I got extremely sick with Pneumonia, and in the hospital for six days. I never did get acclimated while there. It was nice to come home.

Got the yard mowed yesterday just in time for the day full of rain today. I tried to make it to the gym but just picked up milk and came back home. One of those days. A lot of it has to do with the off-and-on sleep nights.

Ken said yesterday his shoulder was better but it was bad today. Not sure if it is related to the dampness and rain or not. I know it affects me. I told him once more that I thought he should go to the doctor. You can lead a horse (or mule in this case

) to water but ya can't make him drink.

That bridge disaster was so sad. My heart goes out to the families. I cannot imagine anything like that. Since Ken drove a truck for thirty-some years, he said he had driven over that bridge a million times. So many sad things happening these days. I watch and listen to a lot of news but I think I may need to take a break.

Hope everyone (including me) sleeps well and has a nice day tomorrow.
