Morning, all!

Plan to be on the road in a couple hours, just need to toss all the stuff in the car and finish waking up :)

Weather looks decent, even down through the Siskiyou's of southern Oregon / northern CA, although I suspect there will be snow beside I5. Beside is fine, on not so much!

Well, his given name is Eugene, so I chalk it up to... good Genes. ;)

Made it down to Willows, CA, about 75 miles north of Sacramento. Another long drive tomorrow, short one for Wednesday.

NO snow :) and even the traffic was light. Pretty sure there'll be no snow the rest of the drive, hope the traffic continues to cooperate :)

Guess we're all having fun, since time's flying by so fast? :)
Hate to tell you but it goes by fast whether you're having fun or not.

still does crosswords. In ink.
That alone is quite impressive.

Now that was corny.

I don't care how old I get as long as I can have my wits about me too. That is wonderful. I have never done a crossword in ink though.

I found out on St. Patrick's day that I do like corn beef. Had a lovely early supper and came home stuffed. I had not had banana pudding in a while so that was pretty special too!

My aunt called last night and her arm had a liquid-filled lump on it so I took her to the emergency clinic. It was an infection and they had to lance it and put her on antibiotics for 10 days. The bandage does not come off until Thursday, so then I guess I will change it every day until it heals. Seems like it is always something. I honestly think she should call her daughters to do this but I don't mind and she seems to prefer me doing things for her. She always says I am her favorite daughter.

Went to bed at a decent time and woke up shortly after. Guess I will try it again now and see if I can get another nap in.

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Good morning - I think. @Rat2chat2 Looks like you and I are having the same kind of night. I woke up 1-1/2 hrs after going to sleep, was able to get another 2 hours in after tossing and turning, finally got up going on 4:00. Oh well, no sense in fighting it.

Today is the day work gets started on our bathroom. It'll be so nice to have a larger shower and that free-standing bidet has got to go.

This afternoon and tomorrow we're going to pick up our 2 grandsons from school and bring them here. Our son is traveling this week so this helps our DIL from having to leave work early to get them. I wonder if we can entice them into picking up the rocks surrounding one of the flower beds so we can turn it back into grass. Lots of flower beds are lovely, but they all have to be tended.

@Uncle Willie So sorry to hear about your friend. Sounds like he sure had an interesting life and how lucky were you to be able to share some of it with him.

@DavidOck Hope the trip continues to go well. Wow, 102. I'm only 74 and I don't do crossword puzzles in ink! Have a happy reunion with your family!

I know Spring doesn't officially start til about 11:00 tonight, but thought I'd get started early. The buds are bursting in the trees and the flowers are up. This obviously is not my perfect world because it was 31 degrees when I woke up this morning and the high today is going to be a breezy 45. We saw about 10 snowflakes about an hour ago. Not exactly my idea of Spring.

Still, we're counting our blessings because when I was about 10 years old we woke up to Spring and blizzard conditions with 2' of snow. No electricity for a week!

Sweat one day and freeze the next. Spring has a sense of humor. It is supposed to be warmer later on this week and I am ready for it.

I finally made it back to the gym today and took it sort of easy. I have not been since before I went to TN so it was nice to get back.

Would have been a lot nicer if I had not had to go to WallyWorld after. Sure does not take long to get up $50 worth. I found my all-black jelly beans but it was a small half-full bag and I refused to pay $1.64 for a handful. It's the principal. I may break down and buy them next time I'm there or wait for the Easter candy sales.

Took my aunt a container of chili that Ken made last night. I thought it would be an easy supper for her. She said her arm had not bothered her at all and I was so glad to hear it. The bandage stays on until Thursday and then I will start changing it for her daily until it completely heals. She is one tough little cookie. I admire her. I just hope she has remembered to take her antibiotics 3 times today.

Hope everyone sleeps well and has a great Wednesday.

Evening, all.

Another successful leg done, camped (well, motel) in Needles. Short drive tomorrow, only about 5 hours :)

Well, 75 here, and have always done them in ink. Think before writing ;) and have a couple crosses as well.

Spring (and autumn) equinoxes are when you can (fairly) easily stand a raw egg on it's small end.

I am sitting with my long-sleeved jacket on, eating hot oatmeal, trying to get warm. At least I am dressed and ready for the gym. I'll get there.

These off-and-on sleeping nights are getting to be quite tiresome. I hate waking up and feeling more tired than when I went to bed. Grrrr But, tonight I get another chance to sleep the whole night through. I'm gonna try.

The sun is out and it is supposed to get up to 70. A beautiful day. I'm going to get the gym out of the way and then I'm going to do something. I don't know what, but something.

And then will you be there?

I have never driven as far as you go but I think I could if I had a good reason. I think it is wonderful that you can get together with your family for such a great occasion.

Yeah, it's a trek!

Yep. Of course true for all of us, but at his age hard to know if he'll make another year. So, yeah, worth the trek.

Safe in Phoenix, more tomorrow, lots happening tonight!

Well the temp was supposed to be 58, but there was a good breeze that made it feel colder. Without the wind it was pretty nice.

Hope you get some good sleep. It makes a world of difference.

So did you find something to do? I'm almost afraid or ask...

Willie, are you trespassing again? Looks like a great place to do it!!

Yes, here I am once again. I went to bed pretty easily but just could not stay asleep. Grrrr

We binge-watched the first season of The Chosen today. (that's what I found to do, Janet). There are four seasons. It is really good and cast very well. I do like to watch a whole season at a time.

We had leftover chili from where Ken made it the other night and it was even better reheated. My aunt said she ate the whole container I took her so she must have liked it too.

Going to try once again. If at first, second, and third you don't succeed, try, try again.

Morning, all.

Nice to not have to jump in the car and rack up the miles.

Hope you succeeded in getting some more sleep, Rat. Maybe it was the noise from the chili? ;)

And I think it's true for chili, stews and several other dishes that they're better the second day. Just like our juice, sometimes much better with "steeping."
