Morning, all.

No weather change, here. Mid 80s, no rain. Still, better off than many other places.

the bunnies evidently think they're a free gourmet meal.

Sounds like the deer and our roses. :( Maybe then need extra vitamin C from the hips?

Got back in late and Perry got up and went back to Goldsboro as I went with him last week. I stayed home today and have had a really productive day. Did the wash and some much-needed cleaning that I have been neglecting. I might sleep pretty good tonight. (fingers crossed)

I think it has been pretty hot today but I wouldn't know because I have not gone out. When Perry left this morning he told me I better not mow the yard because he loves mowing. Took me two seconds to say that I would mow if I wanted to. He just laughed and told me to get on with my bad self. I didn't tell him that there was no way I was going to mow in this heat. It's the first time I've had help with the yard and I am enjoying it.

Hope everyone has had a wonderful start to their week. Stay cool!

Good morning.

Ugh, this is going to be a nasty, hot day today. There's weeding to be done outside, but I'm going to wait for the temps to come down. It's so hot that the large tomatoes are not ripening. Cherry tomatoes are fine, but I wonder if it will change the taste or texture of the larger ones when they finally do start to ripen. They'll probably all be ready at the same time so my pots are ready to start cooking them down.

Meanwhile we're following the news about the assassination. I just don't understand the mindset of people wanting to destroy things they don't like whether it's a political candidate or a school or a tv show etc. If you don't like the candidate vote for the other guy, go to a different school or change the channel. You can't make the world better by destroying things.

Anyway, stay hydrated and stay cool everyone.

Morning, all.

Had a nice break from the heat yesterday, despite the prognosticators. Briefly hit 80, cooler than guessed. Nice. Back higher today...

I didn't tell him that there was no way I was going to mow in this heat.

Just need an air conditioned ride 'em ;) Or mow at 55?

Nope, I don't mow when it's too hot, either.

I just don't understand the mindset of people wanting to destroy things they don't like

I think a lot of it is simple intolerance. And the attitude that since "they" are "right", anyone who doesn't agree needs to go away, or be gone away. "Live and let live", along with "do unto others..." seems to no longer apply.

Amazon is offering a number of streaming services at a good discount, generally .99 cents a month for 2 months .. I'm not going to paste a link, just go to your Prime account under Prime Video ..

Some of these you can pretty well drain quickly of anything you might want to watch .. well worth .99 cents and you can put off doing other things by simply saying to yourself :: 'I damn well paid for this .... and I'm gonna watch the durn stuff' ..

You can explain to friends and Family after you've exhausted your streaming fill and emerge from your lair in a month or two ..

Remember how Perry did not get upset when I turned his motorcycle over accidentally? Well, he earned some more points yesterday because I accidentally cracked the back window on his beloved truck. It took me a good 30 minutes to get prepared to call him and tell him what happened.

He was amazing. He told me he would take care of it when he got home and not to worry about it. I got weepy and he asked me why I was crying. It is because he did not get upset. That is the opposite of what all the men in my life have been like. I am not really sure what to think about it. I know it made me feel better. Of course, I am going to get the window replaced. He may put a claim on his insurance but I think it would be better for me to take care of it. We'll see.

I got the bill in for the plumber. That tiny leak in the pipe under the house, which only took about 20 minutes to fix, cost $337.05. I know plumbers have a hard job so I just went ahead and paid it. I am just grateful I had the money to pay for it and did not have to skip going to the grocery store. Always something happening for sure.

Perry should get back from his trip today but I have not heard from him. If he stays another day, he will miss a good meal because I have a squash casserole ready to go in the oven and believe it or not, I am going to fry some deer cube steak because it was so good the other night. Guess I am feeling guilty over the window and trying to make Perry a good meal.

Still hot as Hades here and a chance of thunderstorms this evening. We had a short shower last night but the grass is still crunchy.

Have a nice evening everyone.

I have been so busy lately but I took time to spend with my aunt who I have been sadly neglecting. Spent 5 1/2 hours with her. Got her checkbook balanced and called to close one of her accounts. She wanted to put it in her bank so I helped her. I guess because I worked for a bank, she thinks I am the one to handle her finances. I don't mind at all.

While down there I ate a PopTart. I have not had one of those since my kiddos were little. Oh my! It was delicious.

Not exactly healthy eating and everyone knows I am willpower-challenged.

Good morning. My supper turned out better than even I expected. I had so much left over that I took my aunt a big o'l plate and she is so appreciative. She will heat it up tomorrow because she had already eaten a waffle for supper. I guess I was the most pleased that Perry thought it was a great meal. He is such a good cook and I am just so plain. But I did have to go back for a second helping of that squash casserole. YUM!

Already Friday eve. Sheesh! Where does the time go?

Morning, all.

Marginally cooler today is the guess. 85 instead of 88... still no rain, but still the guess is 70s (high) by Monday, closer to normal. Hope they got it right!!

I am going to get the window replaced. He may put a claim on his insurance but I think it would be better for me to take care of it. We'll see.

At least cover the deductible :)
