Yeah, squirrels.... My avi cat, long gone, used to catch them. IN the trees
At our first house we had two cats that worked as a team to catch rabbits. One would setup for the catch and the other would chase the rabbit in into it zone of capture. They were a good team.

But years later we had 2 cats that were not allowed outside due to the road we lived on. Still, they were good hunters, but they would kill a mouse in the basement, bring it upstairs and deposit it next to their food bowl.

Morning, all.

Still decent temps, still dry. Cooler than they guessed, but maybe still "on" for rain tomorrow. Yeah, right...

Not uncommon. They want to show their appreciation of you feeding them by bringing home fresh meat :)

Tag team :)

Good morning. Looks to be a beautiful morning at 71 degrees, but going to 87. Of course there's always the chance of a T-storm at any time. Typical summer weather. We could use the rain.

Gonna be a busy day, doc visit, grocery run and possible craft store run. At least I don't have to worry about dinner. We went to our son's house because he was smoking a pork shoulder so we all enjoyed a pulled pork dinner and we got to take home some leftovers.

My cucumbers are taking over!!! I need to look up some pickling recipes. Now the tomatoes are all starting to ripen at the same time. I've got tons of cherry tomatoes, but the big ones seemed to have frozen in time with that heat wave and now they've woken up.

Morning, misfits.

Still guessing at rain here, and they've upped the amount. Hope they got it right...

They're calling it May weather, cool temps and, presumably, hopefully, soggy :)

he was smoking a pork shoulder

What, can't convert him to vaping? ;)

Love me some jerky
Me too. I had never had any until Perry made it. He has a very nice machine. It has sturdy wire trays. I have a few on my wishlist at Temu but I'd rather he keep making it.

He uses London Broil cut 1/8th of an inch and soaks it in Allegro Hot and Spicy marinade for a day or two. I just went to the kitchen and got me some. So good!

My lawnmower is broken again. I am starting to think my dad put a curse on it because I am letting another man mow with it. He did love that mower. I should have the part delivered tomorrow and Perry's friend is going to fix it. I love having someone that can fix anything.

Perry brought his brother's mower over and mowed my yard. Then he mowed my cousins and aunts (we live next to each other). Worked out well because we had rain yesterday and it looks like we are getting ready to have some more.

Hope everyone is having a good afternoon.

Yep, had a good afternoon. I'd seen a couple DIY crafts I want to make. One is a Christmas gnome and the other is a wreath. So, I went looking for supplies. Found some at the dollar store, then went to JoAnn fabrics and got a few more items there. Still have to go to Hobby Lobby for the final stuff. My hairdresser loves crafting and she loves gnomes so I think we'll be crafting together soon.

The Christmas gnome is made from a tomato cage! It's so cute. i think I'll wait for the Christmas floral sales to get the stems we'll need for that though.

All day it looked like it was going to rain any minute and all we got was maybe 12 drops. We could use some rain.

I watched some of the gymnastics olympics today. USA took gold. I hadn't realized that Simone Biles has the highest career medal count of anybody, male or female. Think I heard that right. Sheesh! I still think of her as practically a child and now she's a married woman.

Enough sitting around watching the olympics and Phillies games. Better get the laundry out of the dryer, It's been in there for 2 days... There's just so many more interesting things to do,

I guess our 0.19" is a little better than that, but not really much use. Just makes for more fuel...

And now back to high 80s, low 90s for another week...

Yep, heard that right :) And she's, gasp, 27! And, while "only" bronze, was nice to see the men's gymnastics team back on the podium, been a long time :)

Good morning. Well, the 12 drops of rain we got didn't do much to water the outside growing things, but mother nature sent the winds to prune one of our trees of 2 dead branches on the side of the house. Mike will have to get out there with the chain saw before the day heats up. Our Real Feel temp is supposed to be 103 this afternoon. Then again we could just leave them alone until Fall...

I've got 3 Big Boy tomatoes sitting on the counter. They're over 1 lb each! I used 1/2 of 1 for BLT sandwiches (thick slabs), then more of it on our dinner salads for 2 nights. Sheesh! Mike doesn't like tomatoes much so it's mainly me eating them. Guess I'm going to have to start cooking them down because there's others ripening that I'll have to pick soon,

Geez, the hummingbirds are going nuts at the feeders. Usually they're this active right before they move on in the Fall. Wonder if it's due to the heat? Our German visitors were fascinated. Evidently they don't have hummers where they live.

I took a shower, bath, shower last night! Took a long bubble bath. Boy Mr. Bubbles does not work the way I remembered it when I was a kid. Maybe Perry has hard water or something. It was still nice and relaxing.

I got some of the prettiest porkchops out of Perry's freezer. I like the Shake-N-Bake BBQ and Perry had never had it. He said he always fixed his chops in the crockpot. When I was in the bath, I heard him tell his friend about the supper I fixed for him so he must have been impressed. I enjoyed too. Perry told me he could not have gone anywhere to eat and gotten a meal that was as good as I fixed. I think I earned a point or two. heehee Wild rice, peas, slaw and a salad. It was rather tasty, if I say so myself. I was just pleased that I figured out his oven. I have finally gotten over my fear of using gas. I like it. It seems to cook faster too.

Happy Friday to all. Hope everyone has a nice weekend. I have no plans yet but that's okay. Stay cool all.

Morning, all.

High temps continue here, as does no rain... so no fun.

Then again we could just leave them alone until Fall...

Yep, if they're not in the way, a good plan!

I have no plans yet but that's okay.

Indeed. Plans are made to be changed anyway ;)
