Nice chatting ya both for a bit ... gotta type out a PM, then finish my kitchen work ... had to unclog my drain ... not sure how, but the problem was in the dishwasher line backing up through the garbage disposal.
It's just as well, I don't like the way my DW cleans anyway, so I pull the racks out and use them as drying racks while I'm handwashing ... dishes are now coming out crystal clear and shiny again.
Toodleoo, my friends!![]()

Indeed ... I have been using nothing but ASUS I think for the last ... eh 8 years maybe more ... Graphics .. go with Invidia or You like ATI ?
*Nvidia lol

Night night.
I didn't understand the need for Win8 until someone explained it to me ...... MS has their own notebook and phone and they wanted them to work with each other and have the same user face ..... pbbt !
I missed 4 posts. Went back to find them when you said "I hope she saw I answered."
I think that ATI and NVidia are the same thing now. No wait... it's that AMD bought ATI. Anyway, I always liked ATI before, but the NVidia chipsets have always been very strong. Seems like a tossup. They each have great stuff.
You're right about the Touch Screen!!! Being stuck with a mouse is no way to use Win8.
I figured M$ was phasing out the XP Kernel due to the popularity of Smart Phones and the Windows Phones. The move away from a Desktop seemed tied to that, to me. I didn't research it... that was just my impression. Either way, the Desktop will be very difficult, if not impossible, for some people to leave behind... Impossible out of Refusal, but impossible still. Some would rather go to Ubuntu.
I was using ATI/AMD way back ... and I always had driver problems ... there seemed to be like freelancers out there writing the stuff lol So I switched over to Nvidia ever since. But AMD has a good value $$ wise for what they offer and the both of them these days are side by side ... not enough diff to me anyways to make a sale one way or the other besides just preferences.
One thing I always wanted to compare but cant see dropping all the bucks on is multiple graphics cards ..... I mean, maybe if I happen to end up with two of the same someday I will see ... but ... wow ... so much $$
Agreed, I could never do away with a DT ... and I think the resistence to getting rid of them was big and MS saw that right away ... hopefully anyways !
You can get Dual Monitor Video Cards these days, saving quite a bit on Double Cards for Dual Monitors.
When I read up on Win8 before it was released, my feeling was, if Vista didn't kill M$ and open the door to the Macs, then Win8 well could be the last nail in the coffin. They almost HAD to give the Desktop back!!!
LMAO!!!

OK but can you have diff screens on the two ... like could I play a game on one and do my book work on the other ? I see they have multiple outputs but I never played with it b/c I never needed it.
Yup!!! Different everything. Different programs running, background wallpaper, etc. I'm not sure, but maybe even different Screen Savers. That's really the whole point. You can have M$ Word on one screen, and Excel on the other. With the new wide-screen monitors these days, you can even have two programs sized appropriately on each screen.
