Good morning beach kids! :)

Just wanted to pop in and say hi real quick! I put way too many things off, and now I've been swamped trying to get everything done to be ready to go visit the grandkiddies for Christmas :( I think in my little mind I was expecting the weather to stay bad.. and that I wouldn't be able to go.. so I AM glad I'm going IF I can ever get ready

Glad to see you.

The older I get the more I procrastinate. Before too long, I won't be getting anything done. I think this might be bad, but then again............

Hello Friends.

Two or more pages for me to catch up on...

I do have very small round nose pliers. They are completely metal, no spring, and they work great. When I was a jeweler and we had pearls to restring I would take them home to do. My boss hated doing it, I liked it, and he gave me all the $ that he charged for the job :D I used those little pliers and kept them when I left (he didn't care).

Hi Tink,

This is what I meant by a "return spring." It opens the jaws when you release pressure on the hand grips. There are two kinds of springs. A Spiral spring, and Two Bars that press together. Most Mini Pliers seem to have Two Bars, and on the Cheap Chinese sets I've had problems with the bars shifting so they no longer open the jaws (which can be dealt with), but also with them breaking. Having the jaws opened for you is a very nice feature. Some pliers only have one longer bar that pushes against a side (instead of Two bars that push against each other). Personally, I prefer Two bars.

It's one of the lessons you quickly learn in the big city ;)

Unfortunately, it's the same in many bigger cities. I had to learn that in New Orleans as a teen. :(

That makes me a little sad. It's really not a bad place, but it is very different from anywhere else so it can be a bit of a culture shock. There's lots to like here.

Good morning Mixxy :)

I miss that "there's lots to like here" about New Orleans. My town is very large on the map, but it's really just a little two-horse town. One Mall, one movie theater, hardly any cultural stuff. We had a small theater where they put on Plays, but it burned down several years ago. After living in the New Orleans Metropolitan Area for 25 years, there's something of a reverse culture shock in coming here. Of course, I'm settled in now, but there are definitely things I miss about New Orleans. In an area that big, if you can imagine an Interest, there are enough people to form a group and entertain it. Plus all the Festivals and such. There's always something going on.

Ah, sorry about that but just the thought of that place is scary to me ... but then, I've rarely left Arkansas either. Texas was probably the largest, busiest place I ever went  I really have little desire to travel anyway ;)

My family moved around a lot when I was a kid, and I continued that in the Navy... seeing lots of different places. I can understand what it's like to be someone who's always been in the same town, plus what it's like to have traveled and lived in many places. I think that much of the Fear generated about places like NYC is due to the Media. There are places you don't want to go in NOLA too, so a trip to someplace like NYC requires common sense, at least, and a guide (like Stone) at best.

When I visited my father in Syracuse, there was a Crosby, Stills and Nash concert in NYC that I wanted to go to. He refused to go there, too, and I was there to visit with him, so I didn't venture away. I only had 5 days with him. As it turned out, when I got home I was able to see them perform the next week, as they were on Tour.

I borrowed a copy to post it on another chat thread in the Christian Vapers forum. I gave you the credit, but I forgot there are two jj's on the forum, so I need to go back and add a "2" to it.

See y'all later, going to jump in the shower and make a cup of coffee. I don't drink coffee anymore unless I have to work, and I usually drink that in the car on the way over to the job. That way I don't get used to the caffeine ... so when I need it, it really works for me.

It's raining here. We love, love, love rain in CA!:)
