Well we had pork fried rice SunHi Dale! I had buttered rice for breakfast yesterday. I just saw a easy recipe for homemade fried rice, which I like very much as long as I have soy sauce for it. My favorite is brown and wild rice mixed. Add some mushrooms and ground sausage and you have a meal. So what's for dinner tonight? I'm having an Italian sub.

Don't think I've ever tried Zatarain's rice, we do have it around here tho'I'm not big on rice, fried rice is about the only way I eat it anymore. Ate it with butter and sugar as a child.
It's a mix in a box. All you add is browned hamburger.
I've never tried rice with butter. We used to do spaghetti with only butter. Yummy!![]()

Thawing out my hamburgler. Trying something different. I have two 1# of hamburgler that I put in plastic bags and dunked in cold water in a pot in the sink. Made them go to the bottom with two bowls on top, instead of floating. I'll change the water every 30 minutes. I usually just start browning it, peeling off browned layers with the spatula and roll it to brown more. I wanted it more thawed this time, but didn't want to wait on it sitting on the counter to thaw.
This Zatarain's mix calls for 1.5# of hamburgler, but I like to make it with 2#.
EDIT1:
Looked at the thermometer and it's about 35° out. Adding nearly freezing water doesn't help muchso I started adding hot water.
EDIT2:
Was in the kitchen adding hot water to keep the potful about lukewarm, when I heard a dark voice say:
Luke, I am your father.
It was the hot water tank talking to the pot of water. I got out of there in a hurry. 8-o
