Mine is literally a cardboard tube with plastic mouthpiece - they should be really cheap to get. There is a small learning curve for puffing into it - a short sharp puff - best done standing up I think. But it really is useful to see if things are getting better or not. Like knowing your ordinary Blood Pressure ranges - it is useful to know what your ordinary readings are like.

Keep us posted.

Best,

C.

Sounds a bit like the machine they use at the Lung Specialist. Only theirs is hooked up to a computer. I'm going to check about this. Thanks.

I recently tried the e-cig. It was one of the cheap knock off e-health brands but I switched to it for a few days after smoking for about 20 years..I had my tonsils removed a few years ago and the surgery left lesions in my larynx or voice box. They never healed. I have been told that I have emphysema too which is why i get so much sinus drainage. I was about to the point i thought i was going to die my lungs were hurting me so bad. My throat was hurting 24/7 and then I switched to the e-cig for a few days....My appetite increased, I started breathing better and most sinus drainage stopped so my throat quit hurting. I burnt the atomizer up on it so I am waiting on a new starter kit myself. I don't care what anyone says I tried them and I'm willing to take the risk! Only 4 days with the e-cig and I saw an almost instant improvement!!! I sure hope this new Pact Act 2009 (that prohibits the sale of tobacco on the internet or tobacco to be delivered via mail affects the e-liquid! If they stop me from using the e-cig they are forcing tar and death on me soon! At my current rate of inhaling plastic (their fire proof chemical to prevent forest fires) fumes and the 100+ chemicals in cigarettes I probably wont make it though the next year. May god bless the Chinese man who invented the e-cig!!

Before I quit analogs, I noticed my chest would start to hurt when taking deep breaths which prompted me to look into quitting again (I quit once before using the gum). I then remembered about Smoking Everywhere kiosk in the mall. So I did my research and came to the conclusion of switching to vaping instead of trying the gum a second time.

I went and bought the Joye 510 from a local seller and ever since I started vaping, I have only had 1 anolog, and that was due to my curiosity of seeing the difference in vaping and anologs. I couldn't even get myself to finish the anolog, it was disgusting.

Anyways, I also noticed that my chest does not hurt anymore when taking deep breaths and I don't feel like trash anymore. I love vaping!

all i can say is WOW.I have smoked for almost 30 years 2 packs a day.I really never wanted to quit smoking but knew i had to.Used 2 inhalers every day.quit .... logs 3 days ago when i finally got all the pieces together. sb, 510 atty ,and juice.I have not even wanted an analog since. In 3 days my lungs feel better than i can remember,so good i'm going to stop the inhalers tomorrow just to see how i feel.I really don't think i need them anymore my lungs feel that good:)
I noticed a change in my lungs after just 1 week. I quit analogs Aug. '09 and i have a few extra pounds to lose so im really out of shape but my morning cough went away almost immediately and climbing stairs and walking around the mall is a breeze. I dont have to sit and catch my breath. I read somewhere in this forum that there is an ingredient that actually is an anti-fungal. In the beginning i had some throat sensitivity but that only lasted about a week. These things are a godsend......I smoked for 35 yrs and quit cold turkey the day my first ecig arrived. I have never looked back. I dont ever want to smell like that ever again...

I think a lot of the breathing problems caused by smoking has to do with the fire safe cigarettes they require now.

Come to think of it, I noticed a difference in the way smoking was affecting me right about the time the sale of Fire Safe Cigarettes became mandatory in my state. While the fact that I was a heavy smoker for over 20 years may very well be the reason for the way I was feeling, I can't help but wonder what chemicals were added to cigarettes to make them "fire safe", and if they have any side effects. If the FDA issued any warnings about these additional chemicals, I'm not aware of them.

I smoked for about 25 years, averaging a pack a day. Like most, my lungs had a rattle when lying in bed, coughing in the morning and sometimes coughing fits so bad that I would feel dizzy.

I have no been vaping with a 510 for exactly a week, and I cannot believe the difference! I can actually take deep breaths and not cough, my phlegm production is down to nothing, and my sense of smell is returning. Startling really, that such a difference can come in only a week.

I have not had an analog cigarette since I started vaping.

The true test for me was on day three of vaping: my wife and I went out on the town. I was afraid that drinking would have me craving an analog like always and that it might get weird with everyone staring at my 510 while using it. Not only did virtually nobody notice, I did not crave a trad cigarette AT ALL. You can still smoke in bars where I live, and almost everyone I know smokes, and it did not occur to me once to bum a smoke.

For the first time I actually feel free of cigarettes, and I am confident that I will never have another as long as I live--which should be much, much longer now!:thumb:

Its amazing how the fda can get away with this dictator mentality. They have total control over decisions that should have a monitoring system. i cant believe they have such power to make decisions like this. It feels like my rights have been totally trampled on. seems like an issue of constitutional misconduct. Some how we have to put them back in their place.....they work for US not the other way around..

TheBigD, CONGRATULATIONS to you! Your post expressed what so many of us here have experienced. It never ceases to amaze me that since my introduction to e-cigs, I've had NO desire for a cigarette, but now the very thought of them repulses me. Never in my wildest imagination did I think this was possible. And just look at how white my teeth are now! :D

Samysam13, you mentioned that your vape often tastes like metal, and I find the same thing happening. Since I don't think I require nicotine, I'm making a lot of my own juice. I've found that the Lorann's flavors taste a little metallic, so I'm using Capella's now (in California), which is wonderful. Their flavors are so true to the real thing, whatever flavors they claim to be. I love their Pralines and Cream, and their Graham Crackers is a close second.

I find myself rotating throughout the day between the Mint I get from Rocky Mountain Vapor, and a sweet non-harsh vape, my own no-nic Pralines and Cream, which I make with about 4ml of VG, 8 drops of Everclear (pure alcohol) (or Vodka, or distilled water), and 10 or 15 drops of Capella's Pralines and Cream.

I have a cold or flu right now so the Mint is too harsh for now, so I'm vaping the sweeter, less harsh stuff.

As for the juices we can get online, the tastiest I've had is Nhaler's Pear Lung, because its pear taste is not weak, like a lot of juices I find, but very strong, better than his regular Pear juice.

I'll never stop searching for my favorite flavor of all, which looks impossible right now. It was whatever I vaped in the Vanilla and Traditional carts of my first PV, the Njoy (Npro). All I can say is it tastes like there is Honey in there somewhere. The carts smell like RY4, which I do not like at all, but the taste at the mouthpiece is sweet, like Honey mixed with something else (still a mystery to me). Njoy does not sell their liquid, and their carts are too expensive to buy all the time, hence my search to find out if someone else makes a similar juice flavor. If I ever find it, it will be my all-day vape for sure.

I hope you can find a good juice you really like too, something that just far exceeds the norm.

Started Vaping the minute i stoped analogs, Ive been smoking for 15 years straight never took a break or quit. Its been 3 days and I havent had the urge to pick up a analog. I go to the gym 6 times a week for the past year and since I started vaping and not smoking, i can run an extra 2 miles on the treadmill no problem. My sinus are clear and i wake up in the morning feeling fresh and less sluggish compared to when i was on analogs.

thewomanfolk, Thanks! i cant wait. seems like the better choice for me.
Its just strange that when i talk to my brother-in-law who is a nursing student and his friend who is a respiratory therapist, they give me nothing but negative comments about my decision to vaperize. They said, vaporzing is bad, really bad, even more so than smoking, and that it contains anifreeze and other various chemicals im not aware of. They think i should give the patch a try rather than the e cig. I told them I heard far too many successful stories here on this fourm especailly ones from 50+ year smokers, and those are the stories i based my decisions off, people who actually went through it first hand, not some nursing student who dosent smoke. Should i believe them, or should i tell them to do there real research and stop listening to what there hospitals and the FDA are feeding them?

I smoked a packe to a pack and a half for 47 years. I have been trying to quit for a few years, unsuccessfully of course. I tried the patches, gum, lozenges, and Chantix, all to no avail.

I got my Tecc 510 on Oct. 7th, and began vaping right away, and I haven't had a cigarette since. My goal with the pv was to cut down to a point where I could just quit all together, but so far, no analogs at all.

Hey, I don't know if this helps, but there's an herb that's real good for breaking up mucus called Mullein Leaf... I used it in my college days when I attempted to quit a couple of times... it does a great job of thinning the mucus, actually... I smoked it and used it as a chew... it worked both ways...

Well, it just so happens it's one of the ingredients in nHaler's Lung Juice... I haven't tried it yet, but I should be ordering some next week... assuming vaping is my "new thing"...

Just some FYI...
