A couple is lying
In bed. The man says,

'I am going to make
You the happiest woman in the world...'

The woman replies,
'I'll miss you........'

Haha! I feel like I've all ready done a day's work in the kitchen

Mostly chillin' since I expect tomorrow will be busy :p

So far I've taken my meds and sat here drinking coffee. I hope to have the energy to do a bit in my kitchen at some point today.

I expect to remake the daybed that we ended up for a couch today, though not til this afternoon some time. We had an ant invasion a few days ago. I sat an empty plate on it until I could get the energy to carry it to the kitchen. 20 minutes later, I went to pick it up and it was covered with 50 or so ants! I put cornmeal on the plate and left it for 2 days til they quit coming to it. By then you could follow the little yellow trail to the point where the caulking had worn away in the window sill so DH could fill it with boric acid powder and re-caulk the window. Then we stripped the daybed (dark blue cover really showed that yellow path!) DH took it out and hung it and the pillow covers out and hung them on the line for several hours. Now they are washed and waiting to go back on. Still don't quite have the energy to struggle with that on my own and DH wants to wait and watch for a bit before we put it back.

The dry weather seems to be drawing in mice as well. Been having to wash every surface before you can use it and every dish, pan or utensil just in case! Yuck! Kitteh, come help! We are about to have them gone too. They showed up about 7 days ago. I don't know if they are coming in to avoid the heat or because it was easier to come by water. They sure get loud when they get on one of the sticky traps! 2 got stuck on the same one and nearly beat each other to death! They were so loud they woke us up!

Now if we could find a way to keep the snakes away I would be very happy! I'm tired of all the icky critters!

Were they those little black sugar ant's? :?:
I hate those things!! So hard to get rid of, we finally found a guy two years ago who sprayed around the house and I haven't seen one since! Sure wish I could remember who it was

I didn't have much choice cleaning the kitchen since I made such a mess this morning with my coffee
It was one of those, "well, I've done this; I may as well go ahead and ..... " things.

LOL! I hate when I don't get the pot centered on the warmer! DH sets it up the night before so it is done when we wake up so it gets to overflow the entire pot! :(

These were actually the larger ants (mid-size, black) but corn meal will kill either one. This is the first time I've had this size so I didn't realize it would take 2 full days to kill them off! It just takes a bit longer with the kind we had. This poor old house has more spots that aren't ant proof! Can't leave dishes in the sink if they have grease or the darn little sugar ants show up. They die fast with corn meal and leave a little trail of corn meal dust so you know where they got in. Not dangerous if the dog or the grand girls get into it either, so that is a major plus!:)

I need to wipe down all the counters with some bacteria killer thanks to the mice. I think we may still have one so am trying to keep everything put away! The good news is we don't have the grand girls this week so I don't have to worry about them getting into something with out wiping/washing it off before they put it to their mouth!

Washed all our linens the Monday so that doesn't need done but man is there ever a pile of laundry! Fortunately the new neb isn't as bad today so have a bit more energy! :)

Aww, DH just came in to tell me our blue quail are back. He said he just saw a momma leading her 8 little chicks across the yard! We were starting to think the drought had killed them all. Since they live on the ground and the coyotes aren't catching as many rabbits and such they go after the quail.

We have 2 nighthawks living in the dead tree right outside the front door. DH was gonna take it down till he saw the nests. He said we would leave it up dead or not since nighthawks will nest the same place every year if they can. They aren't really hawks but look more like a funny coloured pigeon. They eat bugs so it is nice to have them this near the porch light!

God is in His heaven and all is well with the world. :)

No problem MD, that harshness had me worried that the nic was terrible, it was just my impatience though it seems. Time it takes to get to you can only make it better which is another good thing. Just glad that 50ml isn't a waste

Yes, it kills them because they can't digest it. Takes a little while when it is a large colony but it works and isn't dangerous. You can put a pile out by a red ant hill and in a few days they will be gone. Well here at least...don't know how that would work in wet country, you might have to re-do it a couple of times. :?:

Caramel & Coconut sweetheart. I just think I wasn't giving it enough time to mix well, I'm letting the rest steep longer ad I'll try the next tank at day 3 see how it is. It's cruel to expect us to wait for juice

ayep, cornmeal is great to getrid of ants. they want it and will go out of their way to get it, but since they cant digest it, they will starve. when i was a kid, we'd leave a plate of cornmeal about 5 feet from large anthills in our backyard. you just need to check it to make sure the ants are going for it. once they do, it's over for them.
