 hey there's worse people to get mistaken for than brother Slim Jeff! ;)

I grabbed more quotes but tapatalk doesn't like me apparently. So as a catch all. The company as of Monday has a month to find a possible buyer to bail it out before administrators get involved. I'm to offer redundancy packages to those who want to run for the hills tomorrow & I have my offer already for consideration.

So, thanks for empathising you lovely people but don't be worried. I may well come out of this pretty good. :)

What does all that mean hon? You mean like an offer to work for less or something? :(

Nah we, basically offer those who want to end their employment immediately a percentage of their remaining salary under their contracted time left with the company in a lump sum. I signed a two year contract with them as manager, my redundancy package is well, substantial even at 70%. But most of my staff are 6 month contracts, if they take redundancy and leave tomorrow. Their package is likely enough for them to comfortably live without work for maybe 3 months, their other option is continuing to work until either it does indeed, go under or we get a buyer who will hopefully, keep them at the company instead of restructuring.

    Most will take the package.

Don't be sorry ..I'll have to explain that to some tomorrow, it's good to know I can explain it adequately for their sake, a misunderstanding at a critical time for them won't be good.

We do have an unemployment agency, luckily redundancy is an involuntary unemployment action so they will still get help when the time comes they can't support themselves.

Well, as quick as it's all happening now, I'm much happier knowing than speculating.
We're all pretty sure there'll be a buyer, it's a good opportunity for someone. 17 stores in an already well established sector, that with *looks around & whispers* the right CEO could make tons! Managers have three options, redundancy, continuing as normal and well, another I won't even entertain but at least 5 of the other managers are considering, which is buying it out themselves at a reduced price as employees. I'd much rather take redundancy

Yeah, I'll be fine BS .. It has to be said as hard as it is for our owner, he's handling it right and letting us all know what we're in for whatever decisions we take, I admire him for that regardless of some decisions he's made that brought us here.

Anyway!.. What ya got planned now you've got prince back?

Took Prince for a short walk when we got back so now he's chewing on a treat.
I did everything I needed to do while he was at the groomers so now I'm just relaxing & enjoying some lazy time:)
