Well, I do have a fairly large jar of that solid coconut
Sure is strong tastin' stuff tho'
Yep, that's the oil. Some take it internally, like a tablespoon a day, but not all at once. It's too greasy for me to eat. :(
Some use it to saute or fry in (eggs, veggies, etc.) Some add a little to their coffee so it melts, and that a way to get it in during the day.
I've used it with baking soda to brush my teeth. I did that for a long time. Works great. Put some of the coconut oil (solid) on your brush, then lightly dip that into a small container of baking soda. The coconut oil is great for your gums, and has anti-inflammatory properties, as well as natural...well, here....
http://www.healthextremist.com/make-your-own-baking-soda-and-coconut-oil-toothpaste/

Also, don't be scared of the fat content of coconut oil. It's a healthy fat, and your brain needs the healthy fats to function properly.

I think the coconut water is the liquid that comes out when the coconut is cracked open. I just did a quick search, and that is correct. You can also buy it bottled.
I saw an article on how to extract the juice from tender, young coconuts....but I don't have time or motivation for that. I think I'd look to see what's available already to drink.
Mainstream medicine says that there isn't data to support the medicinal claims...but we all know that there are never extensive studies for natural remedies because the big pharma can't patent anything natural and make big $$, so they don't put any money into research for natural alternatives.
I just trust God, and believe that He has provided what we need, already here on earth. Coconuts are naturally plentiful on any remote island, anywhere on the earth, so I have no problem believing that they would be good for us in many different applications.

Now, all that said, I don't mean to imply that I don't believe in modern medicine at all, just that if you listen to all the possible side effects of all these wonder drugs, geesh, their cure will prob kill you faster than whatever you're trying to treat.
I do take prescribed medicines, but try to find healthier alternatives if they're out there, and they work.

I don't like Capaldi.

He isn't the doctor. Disappointment abounds.

LB:wub:'s

Chim, your list made me tired. Now I think I need a nap.
I was going to start my paperwork that I brought home, but started laundry, cleaning, lunch, swapped out 5 cartos in my tanks., and now I need a nap.
Guess I'll try the paperwork after the nap. ;)

So, on your list, you mentioned you washed and straightened your hair. It's my understanding that unless you wear it curly, that it's quite a time consuming process to keep it straight and smooth. Is that right?? A good friend in school tried to explain it to me, but I just didn't get it, and she gave up and said...it's just different.

Hehehe! It really needed to get done & since I'd been dealing with this back all week it was getting unbearable.
You know I can't take too much mess around me it drives me crazy until it's neat & tiddy.
I was thinking about a nap too but I'm wide awake. If anything I'll prob read a lil.

It really depends. I imagine it's more time consuming if she wore her hair natural & by that I mean no chemicals and what the texture of her hair was like(more or less kinky, mines isn't very kinky at all naturally so I could never do natural curls but I think that's from my grandparents 1 on each side that were both 1/2 to full blooded Native American). I put a relaxer in my hair every 10-12 weeks or so (most apply one ever 6-8 weeks) I've been getting my hair relaxed since the end of middle school. I hated that straightening iron because one little bit of heat, sweat or humidity & it was all over with & I looked like a puffy troll doll:laugh:

For me, I wash my hair once a week and blow it dry, then I flat iron it with the flat iron and then curl it with the curling iron & that's about it. I do have to 'wrap' it nightly and I use a scarf to hold it in place. The good thing about using the wrap method is that it holds the curl using the natural roundness of your head. Aside from that & applying a light oil to it, I don't have to do anything else. I don't like to use a lot of heat to my hair & my curls usually last me the entire week.

Now if she had natural/unrelated hair I'm sure it was lots more work. From beginning to end (except for when I get a relaxer) it probably takes about 3 hours to do my hair. But I was blessed and cursed with really thick hair:facepalm::lol:

That reminds me. I need to swap out a couple myself & maybe wrap a coil or 3:laugh:

Yes, they came today :)
I'll have to get her stuff to her soon.

Sooo glad to hear you got a good nights sleep too!!

Thanks ....... I think

I'm sure she'll be excited to see both you & her goodies:)

I am too. I feel great and after a week of feeling really :censored: it's a day like today was needed.

Yeah, :( sorry sweetie. That article talks about how it eats the enamel off of your teeth.
I've seen coconut water mentioned several places, and everywhere in the tropics claim coconut anything is just about a cure all.

Well, I do have a fairly large jar of that solid coconut
Sure is strong tastin' stuff tho'

I just love coconut because it's sweet and tastey! Yum! Yum! Yum!

Coconut oil is also supposed to be good for your skin as well.

    That's all I have to add:D
Don't think I could say it any better than our Lori already has.

Oh, and as far as that extraction mention...I think I'll just stick to buying mines already bottled:laugh:

    Aaaahh ok. I think I confused myself:laugh:
The biggest thing about the inversion table from my experience is just that you need to use it correctly and consistently. I'm guilty of not using it as consistently as I used too over the last couple of months. And it takes a while to build up to being able to stay on it longer and longer. If you decide to get one you'll see in the instructions that you have to build up your time on it, otherwise you'll end up feeling dizzy, lightheaded and a lil nauseous. But I could tell a difference when I was using it consistently everyday, especially after a long day of work.

I've started to get back into my routine this week. Hopefully between that & the DVD you recommended I can get it back to tolerable for the most part.

That reminds me...I need to get another one of those pillows to go under my knees & ankles. I just wish I could remember where I got the last one:unsure:

Oh yes! Golf clubs. I've seen the prices on those things before! Yikes! But at least he's saving cash somewhere in the hobby. More money for Lori & Rita:laugh:

Oh & coconut water is good! But then again I love anything coconut. I hate sports drinks. They taste well...ummm yuck!! Lol! I will only drink them under doctors orders. Seriously! And that was when I was suffering badly with my IBS. Even then I preferred to sip on some on those Ensure drinks to get nutrients. I've never read the research but I've never had a good feeling about those drinks.

Yep, he's a good bargain hunter when it comes to clubs though. He'll buy direct from the manufacturer, and get seconds, or blems. He also doesn't go with the newest, latest and greatest. Great bargains to be found if you're willing to go the route he goes.

Oh, for pillows, I just read on the T-Tapp forum that someone really loves the Sharper Image pillows, and that they hold up better than any they've tried. Also, I think Jeff got some good ones from the Select Comfort/Sleep Number Bed store. They have pillows at their site too.

I sure hope the DVD's help. I've read GLOWING reviews about how it helps so many with their back issues, and it has helped mine as well.

Well pffffffft! :p Here I thought I was being good
It's okay, we all do that. Think something is good and then find out it isn't. :)

I think that was basically what she described, but she often just wore it all back, tightly in a bun. She was in just about every school sport we had, and didn't have time to fool with it she said.

.....well, I guess I should go get my nap. Rita is getting very impatient. :D

    I'll be back later. ;)

Yes, skin as well. I used it for awhile, but it takes time for it to soak in, and I always felt like it would come back off on my clothes before it really absorbed. :(

I'd heard about having to get used to the inversion table in small increments, and build up your time on it. My chiro told me not to use it in a complete vertical position, just at an incline. But, either way, your blood is going to rush to your head.
I need to check with my Dr. first because of my high blood pressure, and I forgot when I was just there. :( I'll have to call.

Edit: Nap was good. Took awhile to finally get to sleep, but I slept hard. :)

I used it for a while too. I'd put it on before bed but I couldn't it would come off on my clothes & sheets too. Plus I don't like that greasy feeling.

Ok. I knew you'd read up on it beforehand if you decided to get one but sadly so many people don't & that could go really bad.
Yes! Please make sure you talk to your doctor before you decide. I'd like to know what they think about it too.

Glad you had a good nap:)
I've been reading & watching a lil tv.

Hey everyone. Bbq was fun. You all been busy today!

    Hey Shellie:wub:
Glad to hear you're having a good day.
