There's no such thing as cheap shrimp, I was just leery to spend that for it because I'd never tried jerk anything before.
I also have no idea how it will stand up to restaurant jerk seasoning either. So...I take no responsibility if you think it's nasty.

I've only seen kidney beans in that nasty tri-color bean salad. You know the one with green beans, yellow (wax) beans, and kidney beans.
You should check out this cookbook...One of my best friends, Valencia, her father is from Louisiana. We were roommates in college & when her parents would come for a visit he would make it for us...along with a bunch of other stuff. I hadn't had any before then but I feel in love with it! His gumbo!!!

I'm in the same boat since I've never tried jerk shrimp & Reggie doesn't eat shrimp so if I don't like it then there's no one to eat it
I only use "cheap" if referring to myself. Otherwise I go with thrifty or frugal when referring to others.
