Looks like something even I could do ;)

I need to send that one to DD, bet she would like it :)

Crunchy or smooth? :p
Smooth. :) There's even a video. But, I like to see what it's supposed to look like during the process. Nothing important in the spoken portion of the video. So no worries if it's not closed captioned. ;)

PERK..cupcakes? Did someone say cupcakes? I need, no deserve some cupcakes. I've been assembling a "boxed" storage shelfing unit. Making my first coil was easier. At least all the piecie parts where there. The instructions however were so bad. Thanks goodness I'm a man and don't need no stinkin' instructions.:D

Yes SIR!! But, I switched at the last minute, and now it's a cake. (woman's prerogative ya know ;) ) Devil's Food Cake (box), with Peanut Butter Frosting (scratch).
If this stuff ever comes to room temp. Waiting on the butter.

Guess I'll clean out the fridge while I wait.

...those instructions for assemble it yourself items are often laughable. I've seen DH just wad them up numerous times.
BUT, he is one of those types who READ all the instructions to everything that comes through the door. He also has AMAZING memory recall as well. (yes, he's....well....you know, one of THOSE annoying people).

I'll ask him a question about my car....he'll say, gosh...I don't know, I'm sure it's in THE BOOK. (like when the clock needs changed)
Or....how to use the convection feature on the oven. I literally FELL ASLEEP trying to read the book that came with the oven.

Course, it comes in handy too. He always buys the tech manual and code reader for the vehicles we've bought through the years. (thankfully, we don't get many new used cars. We never take anything "in" for repairs though.

Cake or cupcake it's all fine. "Cake" being the main feature. I do admit that the newer cars can be a challange. Give me a 1969 chevy 350, with a 4 bbl quadrajet and holly replacement dual point distributer and I can make that baby sing. or purr, or smoke you're neighbors 4 banger honda.

We should compare our tool collection. :p

I have been a tinkerer (??) and then a career maintenance man. My dad was a jack-of-trades and I got it from him. He was the guy that everyone in the neoghborhood called or came by to get stuff repaired. I'm the same way with my neighbors. I love it. The only thinh that is beyond me is repairing those tiny wires in ego twist batteries. My fat fingers and bifocals make seeing such tiny wires ,...GGRrrrrrrr.
You and my DH would get along VERY WELL!! He fixes EVERYTHING. I always say I married MacGyver.
Tools??? Good HEAVENS...he LOVES tools. He even has the DeWalt gradient leveler thing. Needed that when he relaid our septic lines. Not sure that's exactly what it's called, but I'm sure you'll understand what it is. :)

I also know whites, lights, darks, and never shall the loads be intermixed. Unless of course it's all my clothes, then as long as they are washed..laughss
Yep. That's how he would do laundry too. :)

DH has a 95 Porsche Carrera 911. He had to pull the motor a few years ago....just because he wanted to, and wanted to look inside.

Of course we take things apart "just to see how it works or is made".
My mom made wedding cakes and I remember that right after she put the cakes in the oven she'd put the butter in a bowl at the back of the stove. That's where the oven vent usually is and it would soften and get to "room temp" as the cakes baked. I can bake some, nothing like she could. My mom always said my dad taught her how to make milk gravy the right way and she came from a big farm family. It may sound funny, but one of the most cherished things I got from my mother's estate was her dessert cookbook. Held together with a big rubber band. It has newpaper clippings, recipes off butter boxes. She even had little notes to make tempature adjustments to the candies depending on how cold it was outside and how much the house heater was running.

The baking started the day after Thanksgiving. No black friday shopping for her, it was the kick off to her baking season. Friends and family were always gifted with her treats. Coming home from school was so enjoyable. The house always smeeled so good. It made those longgggg days from Thanksgiving to Christmas almost bearable.

Yeah, he's done numerous repairs, but had never done that. I remember we went to some race one time, and there was an engine display set up....he walked around in that booth for almost an hour staring at them.

Those are cherished items!! Most definitely!! My sister has my mom's and grandmother's cookbooks.
They had clippings and note as well. They didn't have internet, or cookbooks like what we do now. Recipes are PLENTIFUL these days, but way back, they had to do just that...clip, and exchange recipes.
My mom could sure make good milk gravy, but I didn't get a single Betty Crocker gene. :(

Well, DH is hungry...better git. BBL.
