That's true, we kind of had the start of the huge drug problem I guess what with the hippie's and all ... course like I said previously, I wasn't really a part of all that. But it did occur during my youth
I don't know about over there but young people here seem to think we all owe them something beyond raising them, feeding them, clothing them, sending them to school, taking care of them when they are sick etc ... etc... and then they are grown and out on their own and still want us to pay their bills
Sheesh! I got bills too and half a lifetime to make up for

Yeah exactly the same here, sense of entitlement seemed to hit the generation after me cause if it hit during mine it seems to have missed me. Everything went out the window including manners and respect for your elders.
It's all very much me,me,me,me now. Turns my stomach to see it but what can you do but despair for the future.

I think you are a little different from the average young person today ;) It's quite refreshing to meet someone like you ... even if it is just on-line :)

To be honest it kind of horrifies me to think of what my grandchildren will face :( But, there's nothing I can do about it.

Goodness! Enough gloom and doom!!!

It's Christmas time, do you celebrate or have someone special to spend the time with? My bunch will all be coming here to our home for Christmas day and have a big meal together.

It did get a bit gloomy there  however, thank you I do aim to spurn the current perception of young people lol.

Anyway! someone special, I'm single now so I'll spend it with family which as you'll know is as special as you can get in most cases.
Have some little cousins to entertain after the big christmas dinner, which I always look forward to, hilarious little kiddies. Then we do it all again on new years. So, you'll have a pretty full house christmas day huh? who's doing all that cooking!:laugh:

I'll be doing most of it but my daughter has gotten to be VERY helpful and my mother will bring something with her if they are able to come. Their health is really bad so it's always a bit iffy...
Son and his bunch just eat
We'll be 14 or 15 people all together ... 15 if DH's brother comes, we invited him anyway :)

I envy a nice big family, spend most my time alone  having said that, if I had one, I'd be wanting to be alone.
What you don't have is always appealing until you get it

    Edit:
    Lori's back :)

Yup and deliberately keeping me in suspense with those potatoes I suspect.
    Lori! potatoes!?!? Good?

You can see my family sometime if you want in my profile, there's a B-Day picture of us all on the deck this past August in Other Stuff :)

Do you like to listen to Elvis? A little before your time I know; I still like to listen to his albums I have :)

 What's wrong with Tuna Helper Lori? :sneaky:
No really, add some vegetable's and stuff and you've got Tuna Casserole quick N easy :)

    Lori's baaaad!

Oh hey, did I mention my son is getting married tomorrow night at 5 pm?
Not a thing is wrong with it. I just don't care for tuna warm. I like all other fish warm/heated, but just weird about tuna. I meant though that your DH must not have wanted it cuz he went out.

    Ha, thank you.

I say it was a better time for music and movies, it's probably more appropriate to say it was better time in general.
There was respect towards other people, class and just overall a sense that people did things right, still wasn't without it's problems either.
    I agree!!

Preach it sister!! Wait, what am I saying?? DH and I don't have children.

Wow, that's going to be a full house!!

Welsh, sounds like you'll have wonderful holidays too!! Now what about Thanksgiving. It is celebrated there?? I know it originated here, just curious. You know...peer pressure. and another opportunity for companies to sell greeting cards.

Well, the potatoes were very good. However, unless you need a dish to take to a family gathering, or some other function, just go with loaded baked potatoes. ;)
The recipe wasn't difficult to make or anything. But a loaded baked potato tastes just about exactly the same and you don't have to pay extra for the convenience of already diced up potatoes. Again, perfect if you need a dish to take somewhere, easy peasy for that.
I would cut out 1 pkg. of the ranch dressing mix, it's pretty "ranchy", not to be confused with raunchy., and add extra cheese to the top near the end of cooking time for that browned cheesy goodness on top.

DH has pretty much perfected "baked" potatoes in the microwave, and they're darn good. So next time that's what we're going to do.

Okay, I guess I'll clean up this mess now. Wish I could just twitch my nose.

Hello dear! It was good, I ate about a fourth of my sandwich

Can't seem to eat much these days :) What did you have? Or have you eaten yet? :?:

    I haven't really eaten yet.

I answer to a lot, too. I usually ask folks about now, just please don't call me late for supper.

Twice in my life a best friend was named Tony. :thumb: If you don't mind, from your avi, Welch will be easier to remember. :)

Ant..any . . . is that the UK way of pronouncing your name? Sounds a bit like our lazy Southern ways.
