Girl, that is AWESOME!!! GOOD FOR YOU!! You're BOTH worth it, and I'm so glad you're on your way!!! Glad we're ALL on our way!!!

Yes, mine also has navigation, so that is wonderful too! I don't have to go to unfamiliar areas too often, but we've used it traveling, and it's just wonderful!!! Except if you're going to The Grand Canyon...print your map.......thankfully DH has the brain I didn't get.......:laugh:......except we ended up on roads that weren't even on the map!! We have a good time with it though.

ya know, if your app has "cache" you can cache your map and just pull it up by your phone/tablet when needed

and thanks!! Trying hard here.. and love me dripping

Blue! Sniff...sniff...you're such a good person & parent; I sure hope you find a special someone!

Kayte, you know I have the best protection available!!! He takes good care of His children:)

mmm big hugs Dale!! I am in no rush at all.. things happen for reasons unknown.. but there is always a spot in the storm for a bit of happiness.. :)

Morning everyone!

Kayte let's see...
1. I guess it was both social & experimenting in the beginning. Then I went to a gas station at 16 & the clerk never asked me for ID and it only got worse from there.

2. I never really wanted to quit because I actually enjoyed smoking. It was relaxing for me. Then I was in another city for a district meeting & one of my colleuges had one. We talked about it & I started to do research but I still wasn't seriously ready to purchase. I read up on ecigs for weeks. Then last Thanksgiving weekend one of my moms good friends passed away at 55 from lung cancer. I placed my order immediately!! Took me 5 days to kick the cigs once it arrived & haven't had one since!

I am so proud of you, Chim... ^5

He used that too when we found we were on roads that weren't on the printed one...LOL. It was his phone, he didn't have his tablet then....you're right though...I'd forgotten that.

I wouldn't like the weekends/holidays either. Been there, done that, soooo happy not to have to do that anymore. But you said you're working to try to get away from that, so hopefully that comes about sooner rather than later!!! Prayin for ya sweetie!!!:) Because, yes..they grow up in a blink.

Thanks Lori! It'll all workout! I'm confident of that! I just have to remind myself to be patient...not my best quality lol!

Started because? Hummm, I guess for two reason's: grew up with smoker's so that was an influence; then to "fit in with the wrong crowd".
2) Haven't quit completely yet and may never (2-4 cigs a day doesn't bother me after a 2PAD habit); switched because I saw my daughter's set up & just had to have one! After that it was all purely accident! Nice accident huh:?:
Hmmm... I was probably the wrong crowd. Hope no one started smoking because of me!:D
Was your daughters set up cute? (I know you're drawn to cute.) And yes!!! Wonderful accident!
hmm..

me.. I smoked when I was mmm about 11 or 12.. why? My parents did.. my friends did.. I tried, I liked, I smoked.

the switch to ecigs.... well I tried them back in 2005-6 ish.. and they were horrible.. had seen an ad for them on the net back then when I designed web sites. I even did some graphics for the company, however.. their product was so defunctive in so many ways.. charger would fry if you looked at it wrong.. filters broke, and batteries.. well.. I had one explode, one crack and many just stop working. total of over 6 months trying it out.. I walked away and thought maybe if they improve at a later bit, I'd retry.. (heck, I even got a few of my friends to try with me)

Now.. it's been a month since my last smoke.. why? because I am trying to live better. Knowing I can get me back into shape, is my main goal. My next is so I will stop being so hard on me, and try to live a bit longer on healthier choices, so I can be here for my kids. My youngest son pulls for me so much, I swear, he is my number 1 fan.. Without him.. I probably would be smoking it up at a bar, and waiting for the afterlife.. :)

but I am wanting this life I have now.. to share it with him.. and maybe find a friend to share it with the both of us.. someday..
I'm SO glad things have improved so much in this wonderful industry!
Congrats on your month free!:thumb::banana: That's wonderful that your youngest son is such an encourager for you. And obviously, you're a good mama, making the choice to put your kids first and be around for them. :)

Ah Lori, you hit the nail on the only reason I SHOULD have a cell phone. With my hearing problem making long distance trips alone is a bit nerve racking to say the least. If I broke down somewhere I would be at the mercy of whoever came along & these days that's really a scarey thought:(
I slid off the road in the boonies one night. It was raining hard/red clay dirt road. My car fish tailed and did a nose dive into a ditch. I asked the Lord to pleeeeease send me angels to put my car back on the road. And along came a van with a couple of scary lookin' men in it. They got out of their van, told me their names and got to work pulling me out of the ditch. I had no idea that the Lord has angel's named Carlos and Moose.:laugh::laugh:
1) How: Originally, a friend would swipe them from her mom./Why: I guess we thought we were missing something, and that it was cool. I think an older brother of hers kind of led us into it...he was really cute.....LOL.

2)Deep down I knew it was just terrible for my health, then one night I saw a Blu commercial, and even though I'd seen them many times before, it kind of hit me that I should try it. So I actually first tried a disposable, who knows what brand, from a convenience store/gas station. I was really impressed, and just kind of "went" with it. I was off the stinkies within one week of trying that first disposable.
I would steal them from my mom when I first started.
Cute older brothers can be such a detriment!

So glad there are commercials for ecigs! I really really hope it stays that way!

What's up with clerks that don't check ID's? I was never asked either. Although, it may not have been illegal when I bought them...? (I have no idea really.) I liked to smoke Eve's. They had pretty flowers on the filter. I liked pretty things... and besides, the guys never bummed cigs from me when I had those.

I enjoyed it too.
I'm really sorry about your moms friend. I'm also glad that it spurred you to switch! You're such a sweetheart... this planet needs you!

Yeah.. same here. We don't need the extra bill. And I really don't want to end up so tied to it that I can't go anywhere without it. Like my son... Mr. Gadget.
I use my email to text people... it goes straight to their phones.

So I have a question for everyone. Well... two.
1) How/why did you start smoking?
2) What was if for you personally that led you to quit and switch to ecigs?
Good morning, ladies and gents. :)

Ok onward to Kayte's questions.

Everyone smoked back then, it was the "adult" thing to do. I was just a kid (14), but I wanted to be an adult.

I hadn't planned on quitting smoking, I just wanted to cut down a bit, because of the cost. I thought that e-cigs were just a gimmick, but I figured that they might help me cut down on my smoking. For two months, I smoked and vaped, but then I couldn't stand the taste or smell of cigarettes anymore, so I stopped smoking. I could have continued smoking a pipe, but I knew that quitting everything was the best for my health, so I gave it all up.

Thanks Kayte! I'm glad those angels were there for you that night...even with those names! Lol! Her passing really put things into perspective. I'd been smoking Newports for half of my life! Luckily I enjoy vaping more than I ever did smoking. I look forward to being able to say I was a non-smoker for more years than I smoked!

BTW...people always thought I was older. Probably didn't help the store was up the street from a college campus. The clerk thought I was a student there! But it was still totally illegal. I was young & just kept taking advantage so it was both of us. More me than her though! After I knew I could buy them I kept going back

Good morning! Is it time to go back to bed yet? :D

Dalegirl... no cell phone here either. I've never had one. We got our first computer because it was a 'must have' for homeschooling. I didn't really want one and knew it was a trap! I was right! I think the internet is an amazing place though. To be able to meet people from all over the world is mind boggling and so 'normal' now! I'm fine with my laptop and my land line phone. For now anyway.

Nice carpet deej.

I worked hard to make sure it matched the drapes... :p

1) Getting shot at during work (Circle K, 17yo) during the Farm Worker unrest in the Coachella Valley. Needed to calm down. It worked.
2) Heart attack

Hey!!! That's MY job!!!!!

Morning peeps! One of those nights...tossed, turned, paced, finally fell asleep around the time Haze turned off the lights in here.

On cell phones....I'm never far from mine. Living rural, it's a must have, and I use it for my business (although I don't take the write-off, too complicated). I have Pandora on it, as well as Audible Books....and Angry Birds (that has to be the MOST FRUSTRATING GAME EVER!!!!!). I have a note app, so any lists or stuff I need to remember is instantly available (Evernote)and what's really neat is that it syncs back to my laptop. When I go to an estimate, I can take pictures of the rooms and the paper and have it right at my fingertips when writing up the quotes. Our son is still on the plan, so he sends us $65/month and that helps defray the cost.

No word from Rhonda...

On smoking...I didn't start until I was 22/23. I think the reason I started was mainly boredom. But I enjoyed it and it definitely was a stress reliever. I quit mainly because smokes have gotten so expensive. A carton here is close to $55 and I was going through one every 5 days or so. And, of course, the constant grousing from family. Now that I've switched to vaping, I've had no complaints; although it took some printed material to convince my mom that nicotine isn't the monster in the closet. I think she finally understands that I need the nicotine to keep me sane and off the stinkies. Now that she's on board with that, it's all good.

hi again everybody :)

my turn to answer kayte's questions.....

1. my parental units put me in psychiatric treatment when i was 15 (go figure) and while i was there, EVERYBODY smoked. so i had to in order to fit in. after that, i never smoked all that much, maybe a half to 3/4 pack a day. i smoked more during my college days and a few years after when i drank a lot.

2. i got all health conscious when i was in my mid 30s, started running and biking a lot....but still couldn't stop smoking. finally i got tired or coughing and being out of breath, so i quit. but it didn't work. i quit like 5 times and started again, mostly due to stressful situations. finally i decided to try ecigs and once i did, i never smoked another real cigarette again. (since february).

i am very proud of all of you for quitting.

and rhonda....where are you?????????
