Not very original but I always have empty mason jars-I am a canner. The small, 4 oz jelly jars are wonderful for soaking small parts you wish to clean and for storing all those little extras. I have a jar full of organic cotton balls with my small bobbin of kanthal and tools tucked tucked in with them--a sealed mason jar keeps them clean and free of humidity, and together! And when i want things to dry? They sit on the window sill resting on a lid with a mason jar over the top trapping the heat but propped up slightly to vent. The beauty of it all is they are easy to clean. If I am worried about an aroma clinging? I drag out a canning pot and rack and boil them with a bit of vinegar in the water. When done, cool, rinse and perfectly fine to reuse for anything - vapor or jam.
And they are CHEAP. A case of 12 jars up to quart size (with rings and lids) is less than ten dollars.
