The idea is being utilized elsewhere already so I am posting this pic for posterity sake I guess.

This mod was inspired by one called the Mahmba created by Tinear back in July 2009 then partly by the Mr Puffer mod created by Mr Puff and finally by madvapes that got me rolling with it by giving me a freebie Round Tactile Switch with my last order.

MadVapes LLC

My brother and I considered the fact that MadVapes had thrown in the 2 new switches extremely generous and thoughtful since Hoogie did not have them listed for sale at the time I made my order. These switches were special to us...... to be saved for something "special"!

And here is what I did with mine: I call it the Nico-Drip (combo of the nico-stick with a 3 ml bottle on the inside and a tube reaching up to the cart to pump fluid with)

Ahhh........ but alas.......... since Mr Puffer is being created as we speak..... my "special" will just look like a copy taken from someone else at this time.......... therefore I post the pic here for my fellow MadVapes junkies.

I've got a pic of Tinear's Mahmba in my profile for those of you who have never seen it. I've wanted to make one since I saw it. Mine is a "mini-Mahmba"..... LoL!

Hope you like. :)

TBM.... IF you're not handy it is only because you think you are not handy! I am trying to make this mod with all common parts that anyone could easily find so that anyone can make one. The thought keeps going through my mind of "keep it simple, stupid!" So that is what I have done. It does take time and patience though. Perhaps it is TIME FOR YOU TO MOD!?!

This mod is a 3.7 volt nico-stick mod made from the 2 "AA" boxes that MadVapes sells. It has a 510 atomizer and a 3 milliliter bottle. The battery is a 14500. The switch is the new round tactile switch that MadVapes now carries (link is in original post).

MadVapes carried all these parts except for the 3ml dropper bottles and the pipettes I used.

I messed up when grinding the indent where the switch is and in correcting my mistake I learned two important things......... These boxes can be melted and reformed and that they sand well! That mistake is actually why the box got sanded to make it "roundish".

The l.e.d. light on the inside turns on and illuminates the bottle. MadVapes also sells l.e.d.s and resisters....... That's the part of the idea that I stole from the Mr Puffer. (the thread can be found in the "modders" forum)

A link to Tinears Mahmba thread can be found here:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modders-forum/24832-mahmba-concept-pv.html

But the pictures were removed by him. The one in my profile I took from another forum and will not post simply because Tinear removed the ones from his thread so I feel I do not have the right. I do not think it was because of him not wanting people to see the Mahmba though... there were other reasons.

I'll try to post a pic of the inside of the Nico-Drip but my camera is not working and I am using a web cam (not good quality for detail)

Thanks for the feedback! Inspiration can be contagious!

Here is the inside pics..... sorry for the poor quality (webcam camera)... I need new camera batteries.

It is not finished yet although I have used it to vape with and it works as great as any nico-stick. Ever since I've used the "blue foam mod" in my carts I have no need to drip..... I just wanted to make this because I love the way that Mahmba looked! I am debating on whether or not to just use the pump ability to juice the cart with the blue foam inside or to actually use it to drip with. Or..... just use it as a very comfortable nico-stick that carries the 3 ml of e-liquid that I usually carry in my pocket.

In an attempt to only use what anyone could easily find.... I have yet to create the section that will be used to attach to a cart. Presently I have a brass tube there from a long camping/candle lighter. The tube connection going into the box is presently the dripper part off from another 3ml bottle that was slightly modified. Some of the tubing is from a pipette. The other tubing is from the same camping/candle lighter I got the brass pipe from.

The thing about these boxes is that the plastic can be melted and reshaped..... so I might mold an elbow from it to connect to the cart (like the Mahmba). That is how I intend to connect it to the box also.... just don't want to do that until I'm certain of the parts I want to use.

It is also possible to use a pipette instead of a 3 ml bottle. Pipettes squeeze easier but are not as easy to maintain in a user-friendly aspect.

Any nico-stick (even those already made) can be sanded and rounded to give the appearance of this one. I used 220 grit sandpaper to shape with, then 1000 grit, then 2000 grit... then it just buffs easily with a soft cloth.

I am waiting for another MadVapes delivery as I type this.... LoL..... and am hoping I remembered to order the purple l.e.d. lights because I wanted a purple one in this but only had a red one my brother gave me. I have it so it lights when the main ON-OFF switch is in the "on" position.... and it does not drain the battery much at all........... meanwhile........ Man does it look good in the dark!

BTW Hoogie....... THIS is why I voted to keep the freebies or go to points. Your Freebies are inspiring! Thank You!

Forgot to ask, how do you like the switch you are using? It looks really small which is great in such cramped quarters. That is one thing I haven't found yet, a switch I really like.

The switch is MadVapes round tactile switch and I absolutely love it! Very comfortable with a nice pronounced "click". Just seems really well made.

When I ground down the corner of the box and drilled the hole, I accidently got the hole too big... that's when I learned that that plastic molds nicely on those 2 "AA" boxes. I used my stencil burner (basically a glorified soldering iron) to add plastic to it and re-mold it to perfectly fit around the switch. Then sanded and ended up not stopping there... sanded and shaped the whole box!

I wanted the switch in the corner and that round switch fits beautifully. I did intentionally melt a little of the inside of the box corner in order for the switch to fit.

Maybe I'll splurge and buy some batteries for my camera tomorrow so I can show better detail.

Edit to add: Recent order from MadVapes just arrived.... OMG! OMG!..... gotta go!

It was a false alarm.... the mail lady left me no package from MadVapes... :(
I wanted to make a 5 volt box using one of MadVapes 4 "AA" boxes but am not sure I ordered any of those either! Perhaps tomorrow....

And just a note..... I found it is easier and more accurate to use a Dremel rotary tool with a pointy mild grinding bit to create the little holes in these boxes. On high speed the Dremel grinding bit will melt right through the plastic without chance of cracking it.

Yea but the specs on that switch:

SPST with 4 leads Rated 12v, 50 ma.

And with a 510 atty? Hopefully you at least use a clone and not a 2.2 ohm Joye.

Could you elaborate WillyB? I know the problems everyone has with the small tactile switches but we all know, also, why we use them. I'm back to studying switches and MOSFETS and with limited time I am learning. There must be something I could use to protect my precious little switch?

Perhaps I stray a bit off topic to some...... but this is, I think, my 100'th post. I noticed that and decided to invest it in something I discovered late last night. Since my thread here has referred to Tinear and his beautiful Mod "The MAhmba" already.... and since my mod the "nico-drip" is being modeled as my "mini-mahmba"...... I wanted to make sure that my MadVapes buddies are aware of recent developements with the real mAhmba.

mAhmba v2 by tinear DEMOpt1of4.avi:
YouTube - mAhmba v2 by tinear DEMO pt1of4.avi

I hope Tinear does not mind..... but he has created a mahmba version 2 and has four YouTube videos displaying it. For those on dial-up like myself, who have a difficult wait downloading videos and wonder if they are worth it............. Oh........ THIS is worth it!

And here is a link to the thread in the Modders Forum where Tinear has posted a picture:

Okay..... 100'th post! (I think?)

Unfortunately you are constrained by your rather small enclosure , which looks quite nice though. Tinear was able to make his own enclosure based on the size he needed for his components. Getting a mosfet to take the pressure off your switch will be a tough fit, but that is what you need if you are sold on your switch. Note with a 3.7V battery and a Joye 2.2 ohm atty you are pulling about 1.7A that's 34 times (kinda) what the switch is rated for.

You might want to try to design your own mechanical switch using a small button.

Look at this 'switch'.

But I guess it's no big deal to just replace your switch when it fails or starts getting intermittent. Eventually the thin plates/contacts will start to deform.
