MadVapes Nico-Drip Mod

Perhaps I stray a bit off topic to some...... but this is, I think, my 100'th post. I noticed that and decided to invest it in something I discovered late last night. Since my thread here has referred to Tinear and his beautiful mod "The MAhmba" already.... and since my mod the "nico-drip" is being modeled as my "mini-mahmba"...... I wanted to make sure that my madvapes buddies are aware of recent developements with the real mAhmba.

I hope Tinear does not mind..... but he has created a mahmba version 2 and has four YouTube videos displaying it. For those on dial-up like myself, who have a difficult wait downloading videos and wonder if they are worth it............. Oh........ THIS is worth it!

That is one awesome looking device. I have been following that one closely ever since first seeing the pics of the first version. Thanks for your post as I hadn't realized he was back over here posting on it.

You might want to try to design your own mechanical switch using a small button.

But I guess it's no big deal to just replace your switch when it fails or starts getting intermittent. Eventually the thin plates/contacts will start to deform.

While I will admit that my 'switch' is probably the ugliest switch ever made, I'm pretty confident that it will still be switching long after every other switch sold today has failed
I am all for mechanical switching. It's just the simplest and most reliable way to do it.

BTW: thanks for NOT giving me credit for that pic willyb (seriously). My rev2 is coming together nicely though

I like your switch! I spend too much time replacing failed switches... not switches that have blown or failed from being put through abuse outside or at the edge of their ranges... but simple failure as a result of poor quality control. Grrrr

It looks good Dreams. I wouldn't worry about it. I've been using 50ma switches in my 3.7 Volt boxes since last June. I haven't had one fail yet. If one does, I'll replace it.

Thanks for posting the MAhmba update. I had missed that too. I love it, but I want a 14500 version too.

Ooo Hoogie.... that's a different one! A simple but pretty MadVapes two "aa" Nico-Stick that will carry a 3ml bottle and have one of MadVapes color changing LEDs. I've ideas for three different versions of the Nico-Drip.

I'm putting together a pictorial how-to on this Pearl Purple one and will be posting it when it's done. It'll be my Pearl Purple Practical Pictorial Posting by Patricia.

I've learned how much time you all invest in making these "how-tos" for us and am much appreciative to all the modders that do. I'm going to attempt my turn.

Oh.... and some MOSFETS I ordered came in the mail today to protect my lil' MadVapes switch........ so there WillyB!....

Sure! Good idea. So glad you like! This is a 3.7 volt small 510 mod that does fit and feel really nice in the hand! I plan on making some 5volt larger mods like this but just haven't yet. So, choose which you want and have fun!

Here is the list for this one.

From MadVapes:

• 2 "AA" Battery Box
• Battery Connector of choice (I used a 510)
• small switch of choice
• LED Light with Resistor
• 14500 Protected Battery

Other:

• wet or dry sandpaper (I used): 420 grit
  1000 grit
  2000 grit
• small files (would be nice/faster but I still need some)
• Paint and/or clearcoat (if you're going to paint or seal it)
• solder iron & solder (preferably one with attachments to melt things also!)
• x-acto knife
• drill ( but actually not necessary if you have a dremel rotary tool)
• dremel rotary tool w/ detail grinding attachments
• 3ml juice bottle (but not necessary)
• Imagination! The best tool of all!

Other parts like fittings and tubing will be for the initial mod shown in this thread..... but that can all be made from this purple mod mostly hidden in the pic above.... the one I'll be doing a "how-to" on.
