I picked up a Hana Mini V3 and a Magma at vape Bash 3 this past weekend. Trent from Hana mods gave me some advice on his set-up and I am a very happy camper...best performing rebuildable I own!

That looks great on a Hana! I usually hate boxmods, but maybe... I was actually looking into a vaporshark with the dna30 because of it's size, but that Hanna looks similar in size and likely has a better quality case.

Oh yeah, I also forgot to mention before that the Magma's top cap threading matches Kayfun tubes/tanks. I was goofing around and put a nano ring + clear tank section on the Magma and it looked neat, the magma cap doesn't have enough threads to go all the way down on the rings though, so there is a tiny gap. The Kayfun top cap on a Magma base looks pretty nice as well.

Considering the aftermarket support of the kayfun for top caps and tubes I bet you could put together some nice looking setups. I was hoping to figure out a way to use the Magma cap on a Kayfun, but there really isn't any way to seal the chimney top that I can see, and still have a drip tip used. Maybe a really, really large ID tip would work with some silicone from a carto-condom acting as a seal.

Interesting. Looks like i'll have some tinkering to do when my Magma gets in.

I can vouch for the bore on this drip tip from Vaperev. The ID will slide over the chimney perfectly. Maybe a little plumbers tape would do the trick for sealing it.

I just got a Magma delivered to me yesterday which was a big surprise cause I was not expecting it til Mid next week but after reading your post and having both a Hana V3 and a Nemesis I had to test it out on them. However I found it fit perfectly on both and was solid and tight on my Hana with no wobble at all. Does your magma have actual screws in it or are they grub screws?

-Derek

I have been thoroughly enjoying mine. I keep switching between it and Patriots and now a Quasar. I have only 2 issues with the Magma.

1. 510 Connector is a little long, it wobbles on my Hana V3. If it were a little shorter I could put it on any mod. There are barely enough threads in the Nemesis top cap for it to work well. It does work well with my other mods.

The biggest issue I have with the one I own.

2. I do not own 2 or 3 of them.

That is excactly something I noticed and was about to reply to before I see you were already aware of it. I would get in touch with Local Vape and get it straightened out ASAP.

edit: I did also notice that my airholes decrease in size from left to right (3 - 2 - 1) rather than from right to left, compared to other magmas that I've seen

Will be subscribing to this thread.

Hi, I'm dice, and I am a Vapoholic, love all things vape, mechs, dna, rba's, DIY juice,.... but am primarily a tank system rba kind of guy. And no real interest in dripping, just seems like extra work for no added benefit.

Before you all try and rip me a new one, lets just submit for my resume the following:

1 Rose 2 @ 0.2 ohm build, mec
2 Rose2 @ 1.3 ohm, dna at 30
Russian @ 1.2 ohm, Beat Box at 22
Flashi @ 0.61 , 0.7 , 0.9, mechs and dna30
Aqua @ 0.3, mech

I'll put any of the above tanks against any dripper for total vape satisfaction. Period. That said, when I stumbled across the Magma, I'm seeing everything I love in a great tank, but in a drip format. Just kept going back to it. The large juice reservoir, is what made me proceed to checkout. Going to put the Volcanic dual Verticals on this puppy for sure, once I figure out how to intwine to wick so that it stays in place, that is.

Hope I didn't offend any one, but, just saying, for an rda to attract a guy like me, that's saying something about the Magma!! Looks like a keeper to me. Probably won't receive the Magma till Friday or Saturday, but know what I'll be doing this Sunday. lol.

And yes, I bought the real ones.

Vape long and Prosper!!!

P.S.: The cat bites.

Running Dual Coils, 28G, 8 wraps each over 5/64 drill bit to get a combined resistance of 0.8 ohms.

Loving it so far :thumb:

I'm waiting on a Magma clone from IllVapes for my Hana V3. Best price I've seen @ $32 http://www.illvapes.com/magma-rba-1-1-clone-by-infinite-ships-may-14th/ If I like it I'll put it on my Hana clone and get a real magma for my real Hana :) I also picked up an Origen v2 clone to compare to the Magma from them and a Taifun GT to run against my Russian 91% and my 3rd gen Kayfun light. Any thoughts on the Origen vs the Magma?

Received the Magma Saturday before work, just did a quick dual twisted 28 horizontal build 0.74 ohms, Rami fiber wick, driving it at 30 watts, and, well, um, I am really liking this vape. Very Nice. Going to go vertical on it today when I get up and shoot for 0.3 ohms. She what she'll do. The Authentic is worth the price of admission fer sure!!

Best price I've seen @ $32 Magma RBA 1:1 Clone by Infinite (Ships May 14th) - ILLVAPESAny thoughts on the Origen vs the Magma?

I've had an Origen V2 Tobeco clone for about a month now and like it the best out of the RDAs I've tried, which isn't very many, but was totally worth it at $25 -- a quick eBay search and you can find one for a buy-it-now price under $20 shipped, or you might be able to score one for even cheaper for a standard auction listing.

I don't own a Magma -- only found out about it a few days ago but I'm definitely interested in picking one up now from that link you posted. I had been considering a second Origen since I like it so much, but I'm also a fan of having some variety so I might hold off on that and get a Magma instead.

As for building the Origen, it takes some patience. My first attempt at a dual horizontal coil build took about 40 minutes, but the results were solid. Most recently I tried a dual vertical coil build and I think the performance is even better... it isn't pretty but it vapes great. I should be able to cut it under 30 minutes with my next attempt.

I wish I had a Magma to give you a better idea of how they stack up against each other, but I might be revisiting this thread shortly if I finally pull the trigger.

Here's some pics of my latest build on the Magma. Vertical mounted twisted 28 @ 0.45 ohms, Ramie Fiber wick. Fraking awesome vape, great rda.

I used a ~16 guage mandrel from the Artesian wire winder thingy, and used the 16 gauge blunt tip needles to facilitate mounting and positioning coils into vertical position while locking down the coil leads. Just slid the coil leads in holes, tightened the screws slightly to put slight tension on wire, then rotated the coils to vertical and then sliding the needles into the air holes. Tightened down securely, pulsed and wicked.

I used the negative coil lead from the bottom of both coils, to ensure no grounding out. But it made wicking a major pita. But got it. Next wicking going to rotate one coil 180 to make the wicking process easier. Used one strand of Ramie to wrap around both coils, but weaving it around was a beatch so going to reposition one coil.

My first test build were two huge horizontal twisted 28. Vaped great, but the verts run cooler, and more intensive vape. Here's a pic of my first build using ~1/8" diameter mandrel.

Will enjoy the current build for a few days then going to do the exact same build but using triple twisted 28, that should get me down to the 0.2-0.3 ohm range. But for now am enjoying one fraking awesome vape.

Did measure my reservoir fill, took a bit over 1.5 ml of juice, so Magma seems more of a streamer or laker and not a dripper:D Glad I got this rba, great addition to the collection.

I picked up a Magma yesterday. I have to say, it's quickly become my favorite. My other RDA's are an Omega clone and Trident clone. When I bought it, I built it at the shop with dual 24ga coils, coming out to 0.18 ohms. Definitely the lowest I have ever tried and willing to go. Running it on my Emit Vapors Shotgun mod with a Sony VTC5. Man, it definitely chucks the vapor with the 3mm air holes. The bottom air flow system still cooled my vape enough that I could do full draws, but my 6mg juice hit the back of the throat like a right cross from Pacquiao.

After I vaped on it most of the evening, the 0.18 ohm coil was just too much throat hit for me to handle. So I rebuilt it with dual twisted 28ga coils, going up to 0.3 ohms. This made for a much easier throat hit, and still produces tons of vapor and flavor. I also went to the 2mm holes as it gave noticeably better flavor.

So far, I've dripped all the way to about 1.5mm from the top of the juice well and vaped it for about 15-20 min. No leakage from that. The organic cotton wicks consistently draw the liquid to the coils, no dry hits whatsoever.

One tip I have is if you unscrew the top cap from the base after use, wrap a paper towel around your mod, as the dome shape does get a lot condensation and it will leak out as you unscrew the top cap.

Overall, I'm very happy with mine. It's definitely not a cheap RDA, but for me, I am happy with the purchase.

I got mine in the mail this morning and haven't put it down! Build quality is phenomenal, and once I got it cleaned up there was only a single tiny flaw that I could find. They must make their own post screws from threaded rod, as one of mine has a sharp edge at the top. I'm being super picky here though, and more than happy that this is all I can find. The finish on everything is is just flawless with a nice rounded and polished feel to all edges.

I threw a single micro coil on there with a piece of cotton placed straight through, curled the ends around the body and cut the tails off level with the bottom of the threads. This gave me the perfect length so that each end only just touched the bottom of the well. This thing really holds it's juice! Definitely agree with Dice, this can hardly be called a dripper anymore :D

Before this I used my Atomic RDA every day. Don't get me wrong it's still an incredible topper, and I won't be parting with it, but the Magma just fills in the small gaps. I rarely suffered any major leakage, but the oily feeling of trace amounts on the body is pretty common for me, and I can see juice sitting on the body. To say that this holds SO much more, has no O-ring and hasn't leaked one tiny bit is incredible.

The only thing I find annoying with the Atomic (and most other drippers for that matter) is that if I feel the need to tighten it up on my mod, the body will turn the instant that the connection bites down. This then moves the air hole away from the coil and the whole things needs to be pulled off to line back up again. Obviously with the deck being part of the body on the Magma, it stays exactly where it should.

For me personally, the air hole selection is absolutely perfect. With the Atomic on the smallest air hole it's still a touch too airy. With the Magma, the smallest hole is about the same tightness as an Evod or Ego-T, middle hole is a touch airier (and my standard setting) and the largest is perfect for cloud chasing lung inhales.

Overall I can't think of anything I would change (other than the screws, but easily replaced for my preferred knurled hex key type) and it feels like it was built just for me :D I had my reservations after taking so long to get the knack of a Kayfun, but my first build just worked right off the bat and was everything I could have hoped for. It feels so strange not having to take my bottle of juice around the house with me, but top ups are so far apart now there's just no need to!

Well, rebuilt the Volcanic Magma. Did the vertical mount with tri-twisted 28, 9 wraps each, vertically mounted just clears the top of the inside of dome. Came out to 0.32 ohms. With this build have removed the wedding air control ring, and it's just right. Damn fine vape.!!! Talk about massive nic hit using 12 mg. If you are having problems sleeping, just vape a lake full and that will put one down. lmao. Speaking of which, goodnight. !!

Made sure the upper wire line where directly apposing this time, made for a very easy wick job, with the tails ending in the opposing inside corners of the twin lakes..

Does drain the lakes pretty damn fast vapping this build. Oh well, juice was made for vaping, might as vape it.

Yeah, discovered the configuration for single coil breathing when I accidently shut air to one of my coils and was going, what the Frak!! lol.

Can't imagine ever limiting the Magma to a single coil, it would be like taking one cylinder off my V-Twin Warrior and losing half the HP and torque. lmao. But yeah, can build it single coil for sure.
