Ummm, y'all need to read up on what regulation means. The US is planning on "regulating" vaping as well, and it doesn't mean it'll be all sunshine and roses.

It appears Malaysia is going to do its very best to regulate vaping out of existence. This is NOT good news, nor is it something you should be cheering about.

Over a few hundred shops have been raided and hundred of thousands of ringgit worth of vapes have been confiscated. The same day this .... law was put into motion, they raised the price of cigarettes by 40%.

It makes it look like they penalize the tobacco industry on one hand, but give them back the 'customers' they have lost to vaping on the other, by forcing a lot of shops to close up.

And, it is happening down south of Malaysia too, but not as severe as in the capital.

If they want to actually enforce this, it should have been done with greater care and have given time for the reality of this 'poison law' to set in with the people, not outright raids within 24 hours of informing. Heck, they have not raided anyone so fast before in history.

Government says no ban to vaping. So the Health Department did not get what they wanted. So, they use the Poison Act to put nicotine as part of it and begun a ruthless enforcement to raid stores which sell nicotine.

If the vape shop operator had a qualified pharmacist, they would not have been able to confiscate any vapes with nicotine, but come on, which vape shops are going to employ a certified pharmacist.

Don't for a moment, think that the MoH has our health in their interest. They don't. They talk a lot that they do, but, they don't. Its all about the money... or the lost of it from the tobacco companies.
