The tension is high cant you see! its melting the silicone!

Did you have any with burned polyfill like the ones with the coils off to the side? I haven't noticed a great variation in the ohms so far most were in the original specified ranges with a few around the 3.0 mark.
I'm grateful for now that the ones my folks have are working well and between the two of them they have over 50. That and the v4l WOW Kamel have them pretty set with no problems.
Now if only we could hear something from Leaford. Because that silicone needs a looking at its definitely not happy with the temperatures. Id also like a little more details on the center casing and what it might be coated in.
Now that is interesting and could prove very useful, thanks I hadn't read that anywhere yet!look through the hole on the battery end against a light source to see what the airflow path looked like.
On the best performing cartos, the path is completely free. A pefectly round visible path.
On the worst performing cartos, usually only a half circle or less is free.
I'll admit to that. I am not an engineer, let alone a materials engineer. I am a smart guy who knows how to read, listen, and learn however.Rift & Darrigaaz are exactly correct: all silicones are definitely not safe. I've built aquariums. I currently have a 90g with a homemade 75g sump in the basement, so I know a thing or two about silicone. I have confidence Leaford will try to figure it out, but his current knowledge of silicone appears rudimentary at best. That's by no means an insult, and I could be wrong.
I want a package of cartos with an "Inspected by Leaford" stamp on them. (and no I won't pay for shipping from China to get it.) ;-)
