Wow, Rift! That tube looks completely different! All 10 of my cartos (sans the one that freaked me out) had a very thick pliable ring at the top as seen in my pics. I suppose it stands to theory that it could be an adhesive and someone put WAY too much in mine. Also, the polyfill in all of mine was absolutely pristine. Perhaps that's because I never let them get dry.

I just torched the infamous ring with a lighter. It quickly bubbled, smoked, caught fire, and turned to ash. I sniffed a very small waft. It vaguely smelled like pvc, but I'll fully admit it could be psychological. It was however very stinging and acidic and burned my eyes. It was the EXACT problem I had with two cartos, fresh out of the pack, that I described as rancid and never used.

If it's not plastic, then whatever it may be is still nasty stuff that has no business being in these cartos. I wonder if the manufacturing was changed? When did you buy them? Mine shipped on 2/1.

The cartos were purchased on the 8th of this month and delivered the 10th I think. The inner casings in mine definitely had a lot less adhesive then yours. The three I took apart actually had the majority of the adhesive on the inside of the inner casing as opposed to outside. Ill see about adding a picture tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to finding out exactly what it is and what the inner casing is made of. There could be a slight inconsistency in the application of this adhesive that might be causing problems. This is all speculation of course.

Where are all the special parts that make this so different from all the other Krangers out there? I'm so surprised.

The metal pin is alittle shorter on Knger and also the O ring is white and a bit smaller. Otherwise the same. Coil is horizontal, like MF's.. They go pretty much the same if its the soft cap ones you have.

I can see that. And your pictures are excellent. And possibly even helpful, because there was a part on the previous one that looked like cracked plastic, when actually it was that braided part (no idea what it's called). It isn't so much what you posted, as the fact that people are jumping all over this as though it further evidence that something is wrong. And we really don't know that. For example, if there's an adhesive in there, what's to say it's not a perfectly safe adhesive. You know, Leaford and Toni vape with Bloog cartos too. And he does know exactly what they're made of. I just wanted to mention to everyone, not just you, that there's real people who have put their hard earned money and butts on the line for us, for this company, for something they believe in. Let's not destroy that in the name of something we know nothing about.

And Rift, I know you're trying to help. Maybe I should have posted my thoughts on the other thread instead. For that I'm sorry.

Dont worry. Leaford has more than once asked for feedback on the cartos so they can find out whats going on.. Pretty shure they wont like my discovery with the Kangers though, cus of the secret manu and all that, but frankly I'm a bit annoied if whats happening is, that they are trying to get exclusive dealership on the cartos, cus then I cant get thm anymore...So its just business and in that, one must look out for number one.
When advertising the way they do, they get alot of attension, so naturally the product has to live up to the advertising.
Will also say all the ones i took apart had O rings intact, no melting here. Just a blackened coil like other type cartos..

Well, I understand it seems that way to you, but we really don't know that for a fact. It very well could be, but let's see what light Leaford can shed on this before we make conclusions.

True, but I thinking we are differing on the intended definition of the term "nasty". Fully agreed, it's not yet known if it is toxic/carcinogenic. This is where access to a MSDS (material safety data sheet) would come in very handy. However, I think you may agree it's reasonable to classify anything that burns and stings the eyes and lungs, whether toxic or not, as "nasty stuff".

After seeing your pics, I'm willing to bet we've discovered the main cause of the varied reports of burning. When the stuff we think is adhesive is only sandwiched between the silicone sleeve and the inner casing, then it's probably not very noticeable. If it's glopped everywhere, then heating it causes the acidic/rancid/burnt/etc issues that many others have reported.

If this is indeed the problem, then eliminating the substance would likely negate the need to raise the ohms. I sure hope the problem is this simple... I want my damn bloogs back!

Actually, I wasn't referring to the "nasty stuff". The part of your comment I was saying was not a fact was that whatever the stuff is, "has no business being in these cartos." That's all I meant.

Actually, I'm happy to report it is indisputably a fact. I've proven the nasty crap is definitely the problem and has no business being in a carto. Read on!

I took my one remaining carto which escaped my wife's pitching fit. It was a nasty one. This is the one I used earlier to burn the "nasty stuff" on the tube. I cut a 1/4" off the end of the tube since the crap was still in the meshing and I couldn't burn it all out. I carefully reassembled, filled with exactly 1ml of my thicker liquid (black licorice) since that's been considered another issue. I measured the ohms at 2.5. So far, so good...

I put it on a freshly charged V4L battery and blew thru the battery so I could waft the vapor before inhaling it. Smelled ok! I was very nervous, but I vaped it... It tasted great! I gave it a few more to make sure. It was incredible!

Then I decided to brutally test it. I have a passthru that I've only used once because it completely toasted a wow carto. Guess what? I'm vaping my bloog on passthru right now and it's never tasted better! I feel like a dragon emitting gorgeous plumes of delicious vapor! I've taken at least two dozen drags and there's nothing but the flavor of sweet sweet licorice. Not a hint of burning, and my chest feels wide open. Wow, I'm giddy, and getting quite buzzed. I'm in love again!

So there you have it. Leaford, get that damn horrid crap out of your wonderful cartos! PS. Please send me replacements since my wife chucked the other 9... ;)

Witch means if they'd left them the way they were, the problem could have been none existing... Because the Kangers dont have that as far as i can tell, and they dont give that weird taste... But they do have all the nice fretures that makes these vape so damn well....( if Bloog comes out and tells me they are NOT from the same company i will offcouse seese to mention them, I only keep bringing them up because i believe they are the same and that the answer to the burning must lie in the small details they changed for the MF's)
The only thing i love about the small changes made is the cap. Much better than the reg rubber cap...

Interesting cryx so you were able to get everything out in one piece and remove the adhesive compound (for the most part) and then get it all back in there and it works perfectly? Did you try it before removing the adhesive too?

Also when you get that nasty taste and take the cartomizer apart can you see the compound singed?

Given my engineering and statistics knowledge, I was very carefully to test one and only one variable: removal of the white stuff.

1) Yes, the carto was a bad one. Even fresh out of the pack, it tasted much better than a wow carto, but yet a little off. I'm new to vaping, so I assumed it was inherent to a different carto design. After a week, the sweet black licorice taste was almost gone and turning acidic. Yuck.

2) Yes, before I modified the carto, I tried it again to be sure. I topped it and took two puffs with a V4L battery at 3.9V. After returning to wows, I could tell the flavor or lack thereof was terrible! It also stung like I ammonia when I exhaled through my nose. I opened it, washed all the wrappings, dried, refilled (what a waste), and it still tasted terrible.

3) Yes, it came out in one piece. Quite easily I might add. The nasty ring was in good shape. If you looked hard (like with a 30X loupe), it was a touch melted around the top of and inside the tube.

4) Yes, I removed ALL and I mean ALL of the adhesive. There were small pieces, not chunks, of white stuff all over the silicon sleeve. I remove it with tweezers and an exacto knife. I burned and then cut 1/4" off the tube to make sure it was gone. There was no way I was going to inhale any quantity of that white stuff again.

5) Yes, it worked perfectly! Reread my exuberant post, it worked better than ever!

Also when you get that nasty taste and take the cartomizer apart can you see the compound singed?

No, only the one that freaked me out was singed. Based on cursory visual inspection, I would have never guessed this particular one "I've fixed" would have been bad. It was one of the better looking of the bunch.

Back to vaping it! Now I just wish all my flavors could be back in a bloog... But they're gone...

Oh. Given that I roasted it by super-chain hitting with 5V passthru for over 30 minutes last night, I was sure I must have burnt the wrappings even though I tasted no burn. I was taking large (5-15s) back-to-back vapes to overheat it. It got pretty hot, but tasted fine. My chest was airy and my sinuses cleared out. BTW, I have NEVER vaped like that, nor for that long, nor do I ever intend to again. Shortly after I stopped, I became disoriented, broke out in cold sweat, and threw up. Nic poisoning...

I reopened it and I'm shocked that all the wrappings are pristine. There were some tan blotches on the inner casing, but I think it's liquid stains. People truly burning the wrappings (like in Rift's pic) might be vaping them completely dry?

The one in my pic was still slightly moist not saturated of course but left moist residue on my fingers. The same was with another one I had opened that had a similar but smaller burn spot. The third one was more moist then the other two and had no burn marks.
