I blow on the mouth end.

I tried that, into a tissue, but no residue (nor juice) comes out. If we are kind of 'wet-burning' the carto, the junk is still in there, unlike an atty, where you can actually get the gunk out of there.

Blowing the other way would just put the gunk up into the filler, or onto the braided tube.

great thread. i vape thick 100%VG (avejuice.com) so i'm a bit scared. Going to try a bloog MF and cartos regardless because at the very least I'll end up with a superior batt to my generic kr8's and if i have to I'll just keep using my wow cartos for my thick juices I guess. They (v4l wow's) do indeed burn filler like crazy though and I do think bloog will work to get that issue with the adhesive nastiness resolved. Although, I am somewhat less optimistic that they will succeed w/ the success rate they desire. For sure it is not supposed to be there and sounds quite toxic but these are Chinese manufacturers we are talking about. I don't want to overgeneralize but they're notorious for promising one thing and delivering another or quietly changing to cheaper parts without telling you. The burden of QA/QC falls to the seller who has to waste tons of product checking samples that should be tested and discarded at the factory because they cannot fully trust the factory. And before people get mad at me, I'm not saying that Chinese people can't be trusted, I mean they are manufacturing some very high quality products ranging from high end server components to the iPhone but that being said there is little to no regulation and mfg standards in place and very little means to take up any legal action against them when they make horrendous errors (be it from negligence, greed, or carelessness). There was a story about a manufacturer in China that purposely added plastic to baby formula to thicken it so they could sell it for more. PLASTIC in BABY FORMULA. Now before you all freakout, none of that was sold here. It caused a huge outrage in China but the news story I read said it expected the company would not be shutdown and would not suffer much more than bad press because their legal system doesn't allow for lawsuits like here. But anyway, if said nasty adhesive substance were to cause someone health issues, all liability would fall on Bloog and they would have little ability to reclaim their losses in a lawsuit by suing the factory which was the real problem. A tough spot to be in no doubt in having to deal internationally like this. Despite all that, from reading around quite a bit I think its safe to say that the number of bad cartos are in the minority and the good i've heard far outweighs the bad so once the restock is done I'll be placing an order. And I'm sure if I have problems they will take care of me as so many have indicated by the positive feedback about the customer service.

perhaps your just making the gunk wet and cooling it so it doesn't burn and that's why this works? i dont have one yet so i'm just speculating. wait, are we talking about just cleaning an old carto here or are we talking about this mystery adhesive that some reported is acrid and causing bad taste/noxious fumes... cause i think these are very different things and mixing them in this one thread is going to lead to confusion.

One thing we do have to our benefit is Leaford is on site in the factories in China... part of the reason he has not been in this thread...as they are so busy getting out the out of stock product he has not checked in....but it allows us far more quality control then other vendors... that being said I am sure he will resolve this adhesive issue.

Indeed. That is a HUGE factor. By far the deciding factor in the quality of goods produced from China is that the big companies like Apple and IBM are all over those factories with their QC people, so it might be "made in China" but it's inspected and policed by those who will ultimately have to atone for their products quality.

I'm quite glad to see how seriously the QC is being taken, this is an often overlooked area in manufacturing. I also have no worries Leaford will chime in when hes done with the more pressing issues at hand.

I want a package of cartos with an "Inspected by Leaford" stamp on them. (and no I won't pay for shipping from China to get it.) ;-)

There is so much wrong with this post I'm not even sure it justifies a response.

dont go green on me now.....some posts have so many spelling errors that i have to read them twice, but they deserve to be here to dont they?*

There weren't any spelling errors (not that I noticed and I'm usually picky about those things). I think it must have been the content he disagreed with. Not like I'm going to check on the facts, but it just sounded like an opinion I've heard many times before and don't entirely disagree with.

@mOjO

If you like to vape 100% VG juices, like those of Avejuice.com, then I am not sure that the MaxxFusion is right for you. I could be wrong, but my experience has indicated that 50% VG may be too high from some vendors. My comfort zone and performance peak is around 30% VG. At that mark it vapes well, doesn't clog the cart and I get plenty of vapor.

YMMV

This is a very interesting post and really appreciate the time you took to document it all!

I use bloog maxxfusion cartos on my KR8 batt, love their performance as they seem to resist burning more than any other cartos i've tried, which include V4L, litecigusa, and v2cigs...not sure why.

Just wondering, have you dissected any of the cartos mentioned above? If so, are there major differences in the atomizer bridge, lining/stuffing/wicking materials? I guess I want to know why some cartos burn so fast and bloogs don't. BTW, I never let them run dry...always keep them saturated w/ juice but some still burn regardless.

Also, are you and the other posters saying that some cartos don't use adhesive, while bloog does? Just want to understand all of the carto construction details as best I can to make informed decisions when buying...still a relative newb.

Sorry for the long post...but had to ask since you seem pretty darn knowledgeable, Thanks!
