What's wrong with the button cover? Mine worked fine on the new buttons. If it's too loose just put a piece of thread or dental floss across the button and the put the button cover on.

That worked incredibly well, thanks! So simple yet so effective, like everything else about REOs lol. I just used a some thin sewing thread doubled over and it's perfect; you really don't need much to snug it right up.

The build design on these mods down to the little accessories never ceases to impress me.

Ok two kits installed. Seems the bottom spring screw is a little big or something. My mod won't sit without being wobley. I've tightend it as far as it can go. I put the old spring in and it wasn't as wobley. Guess I didnt' notice it as much before.

So the screw head is sticking out just enough to be a pivot point. LOL. Going to have to see if there are any screws on reosmods. Or perhaps send it in to have the recess made a little bigger.

Phew.

Other than that... Everything went smooth as silk.

I did have a loose button cover. A bit of string and bamm not going anywhere.
Take your screw and the spring out of the mod . Thread the screw into the spring .If the screw looks crooked you can straighten it with a pair of pliers . Put the spring back in your mod it will sit flush . This is from one of the guys not tapping the threads straight .

Just installed my kit:)!!! The hardest thing was getting my old juice tube back on the new pin. My old pin was filed to a bit of a point, so it was really easy to get on. I followed Rob's video and BROKE the old one off, or I would have threaded it back in... it broke at the old thread, but still took a small piece of the threading off the top, so I couldn't reuse it. But once I got the tube on it worked great:)!

On the spring, I didn't think it WOULD fit, the hole looked so much smaller than the screw... but once I screwed it in, it was fine:). Just perfect and WOW, does it hit harder!!! Doesn't the battery drain faster from hitting that much harder?? Definitely notice my juice disappearing faster than before... but I like the density of flavor:)!!

I LOVE the new gold top bar, it works fantastic with my flat tops now:)! YAY!!

Now... what about woodvils??

That made it better! I'll mess with it more in the morning. Thank you!

There is no firing pin in a woodvil. Perhaps we can invent one?

The battery will drain the same, because all that has happened is you have removed voltage drops and get more of the power to the atty coil rather than lost in heat in other areas.

T

Oooh! Thanks T! You are always so informative:)!

I think FB said that we only need to upgrade the spring in the Woodvil for the same result... but it requires solder... so if we can't solder, we'd have to ask Rob to do it? I can imagine that right now, Rob doesn't want to do ANYTHING else, but maybe a bit later they'll be a price for replacing the Woodvil spring?

Also... this is the sub-ohm kit... so how low can the REO Grand go now?

On another thread ZMauls makes himself sick with 0.2Ω coils! So pretty much whatever your battery will tolerate.

Hope my gear arrives tomorrow, but i am in a strange place and expecting gear arriving from all over just now! I send HRH to the mailbox and she dutifully returns with a bill

T

The REO Grande can do .2 now? Really?? o_O

Is the spring still the 'fuse'? It collapses if the battery becomes unstable?

Installed my new kit just now.

BEFORE:
Battery: 4.10V
Atomizer: 0.61Ω
Voltage at contacts: 3.23V
Voltage drop: 0.87V

AFTER:
Battery: 4.10V
Atomizer: 0.61Ω
Voltage at contacts: 3.61V
Voltage Drop: 0.49V

Dear U.S.A.: Sorry about the giant phallic storm system I've created with my sob-ohm kit. It's Rob's fault, not mine.

I have a friend currently running .13ohm. Sparks like a lighter though. Added some nolax/deoxit. Sparking stopped....YEA!! New problem... after some chain vaping, REO starts to smoke from behind the battery cover. Pull the cover and pop out the battery. Heat is liquifying the nolax/deoxit causing it to smoke....told him to run with it without the nolax/deoxit and see how the button holds up. I will update when I know more.

Personally I think he is certifiably nuts. Raise the nic from 6 to 10-12 and double the resistance. He just says no, that he likes a warm vape. Personally I am not a fan of roasted lung tissue or roasted tongue but to each their own.

Watching him hit the damn thing it sounds like he is trying to inhale the whole mod. I take drags at about the same intensity as I took drags from the coffin nails. Then again he is only 20 and I smoked for longer than he has been alive.

If the FDA or other powers that be monitor this forum vaping is doomed for sure.
