No, well, that too, but a faulty charger or battery (or any USB device that uses a lot of power) can damage the whole mainboard, which is a bit expensive to replace. It's a rare thing of course, but it can happen, and has happened. (Although AFAIK not with an eGo-charger.)
A wall adapter or self-powered hub protects against that. Kind of like a safety belt. Chances are excellent you are fine without. Just when you do need it you are very glad you used it.

Got my xl battery in & I charged it up before I used it.. Wow I put it on July 13 at 2 pm & it Lasted me till today at 10 am.. I vape 2 egos at the same time & I vape all day & night till bed time.. So was impressed with how long the battery lasted.. It looks long. Got to get used to it but so far I like it.. Also got the xl atomizer but they forgot to put the xl carts in with it.. So I used some blue foam with the cart that came with the atomizer.. It looks ugly LOL.. Just got to get used to it I guess.. Lots of vapor with this so far & thoat hit is not bad.. So far its going good with no leaking.. Will wait & see how it does seeing I got 6 month warrenty on it..

Yes. There is primer fluid in most new atomizers. It's a good habit to blow this primer liquid out and pre-prime with 2 drops of what ever juice you have. Atomizers also have a "break in" period where they get better tasting after use.

I still have 4 atomizers that are new, but I really should just break them in and put them away so I don't forget to.

Thanks. Is there a proper way to go about doing this? I'm not sure how to blow out the primer liquid or how to prime the atomizer

Blowing Primer liquid out - From the threaded end (connects to the battery), blow into it and have a paper towel or rag at the other end (where the cartridge goes) to collect the fluid.

Priming the atomizer - Just drip 2 drops of juice into atomizer from the cartridge end. Attach cartridge and you should be good to go.

Thanks. I did just that until there was no more liquid coming out, added a couple drops of coffee into the coil part (at least that's what it looked like inside) and tried it again, but there's still the same horrible flavor and smell. Tried changing cartridges with different flavors, but there are no flavors at all and just this one bad taste. How long does it usually take for this primer to go away? I've been vaping this for a while now every once in a bit since I made this thread.

Hey

First of all, do you have any other liquid you could try - or another atomizer? it could be that either one of those simply arent up to the job.

But if not, heres what you can try:

Pull of your filter, then while holding down the button making the atomizer "burn", blow with your mouth as hard as you can into the atomizer for 5 seconds. Then let go of the button, and let it rest for 10 seconds. Then repeat this process 5 times.

After that, add 2 drops of liquid, let it cool for 2 mins, - then pick it up and add one more drop and then try again.

This should help - if it doesnt, you might have a faulty atomizer - or your liquid could be bad - in either case, describe what you have tried to do, how long you have had the atomizer and so on, and put that in a mail and contact your dealer - and ask them what to do, as it might be a warranty / complaint.

Hope this helps - and have a nice weekend!

Might take a day or two. I can usually get a new atomizer going within a hour or two, but I also vape for a like a hour straight with it. The only time I notice a burnt/foul taste is when I run low on fluid. Usually the hit before last will be toned down and the nasty taste will show.

There shouldn't be anything wrong with atomizer as it seems to vaporizing fine. If you can, try another atomizer out and see if you have better luck. If it's the same nasty taste, then it's just the "break-in" period. Or it could be a faulty atomizer or just bad juice. Like Mik_Janty said.

Where did you purchase your liquid and atomizer from?

I have 5 different liquids that I've all tried, and they all seem to taste the same. I don't have another atomizer, though I guess I can order some spares.

I am about to try the recommended atomizer cleaning method now that Mik posted.

I got everything from the Janty USA store.

I haven't been vaping consistently, but here and there for several hours, maybe once every 10 minutes on average for about 7 hours maybe?

The only advice I can give is to contact Janty USA. See if they can help. Keep vaping and see if it still needs to be broken in. Order some atomizers and do a comparison.

The best advice I can give - Don't give up and keep trying. It takes time and patience, but once you get the hang of it. You'll be in love.

I only use Super T drip tips. I tried others and Super T's are the best. I really like the shorty contour ones. I have them in stainless and delrin black. They are perfect for eGo's and look like they were made for one another. I only drip - it's my preference. Except in the car and I load a carto for that (but I can't wait to get to my destination because cartos don't compare to dripping.)

Sorry, don't know how to post an active link.... but you can get there.

The " needle" bottle is a cinch to use while driving, especially with a Super T Tip. It truly is a no look ,dripping solution.

PS: ah it posted as an active link automatically .

Hi all--

I've been using the Ego quick charger/wall wart combo for quite a few months now, and it still works great. the question I have is about cleaning the connections. I've tried to jam a Q-Tip in there w/ some rubbing alcohol, but it just won't seem to get all the way down there (twss). Has anyone found a good way to clean the connections of the charger? Thanks.

Janty's atty's used to be primed with a good tasting primer, but those were the good old days. Now they are awful tasting as you've noticed. One trick (after you've done the previously mentioned tricks) is in not inhaling. Just puff it like you're trying to get it lit better, and keep adding good ejuice as needed. Hang in there and let out a yell to Joye co to bring back our good primer.
MIK!!! Make Joye bring back the good tasting primer!!! The stuff they're using now is no different than their competitors nasty stuff. We'll back you up if you need backing. :)

Should have posted this here first.

Got a brand new Manual Janty eGo yesterday and it has a cutoff after about 7 seconds of use. Light flashes like its dead. But it's not. Power stops for a few seconds and then I can vape for hours again.

Posted this a few other places and no one seems to think it should do this.

Thoughts?

Supplier wasn't sure and said they'd get back to me. I have no chance on a warranty.. Got it yesterday and it was doing what i've described. Then this morning it fell out of my pocket at the drive thru. Went back after 15 mins to find it dented to hell cause it got ran over at least once.

Still works fine except for the cutoff..

Maybe i'll post a picture sometime, tough product.
