Okay....I'm going to renig on insisting that it's not triangle shaped. I guess you need that for 2 batts. Not really so bad, I'm getting used to the idea.

I use an iPod, don't need MP3, so squash that idea.

801 Atomizer for sure!!!

Hurry up, will ya? :D

The problem with the 801 atomizer is that its _really_ long in case you didnt notice. :)

We could use it for this one, but it would kill the retractable atomizer idea, or significantly extend the chassis in order to make it work - both of which is .. well something we dont like. :)

I have tried the dura adapter on 2x ecigar batteries (ofcourse) and it is _really_ good - and i am a sworn 801 supporter normally ;D

After reading this thread, speaking to alot of you and heard your inputs, and consulting with Ludo, im going to try and design a Cameo version that does NOT include the mp3 player.

Im not saying we are ditching it, just that i will try to make a design without it - and change some stuff. Then ill post it in this thread and get some feedback on it.

Dont expect it tomorrow though.. its 4:17 am here, and i have alot of stuff on my plate for when i wake up im afraid =)

But i thought you'd like to know!

WOW! People that see me with my JStick always joke it should have an MP3 player and/or camera in it or even that it looks a bit like the 007 cell phone.

But a REAL MP3 player.....not for me :(
LOVE LOVE LOVE the dual batt
Would rather have the 801 atty - that I've ban stocked.

I guess I'm just getting old and un-hip (HA! assuming I was ever hip)
If you get an adapter from ecig-city U.K. or Altsmoke you would be able to use your atty of choice but the 801 is a larger diameter and the retractable feature would be of no use.The adapters would also increase the length so your atty might protrude in the retracted position.

The kid in me, reaaaally wants to believe that Ethan is receiving tons of emails now, - not about Janty stuff but just "sooo.. hey how you doing. Yeah i just bought a new car, and its red.. and uhm.." - completely flooding his mailbox.

*muhaha*

Ha, I do this!! Drop an e-mail to say hi, not brag about a new car.:D

I was just going to reccomend a Dura-C to a beginner so I checked the new reworked Janty World site. There is nothing about a warranty stated on the attys. and batts. as before? Are they still warranted?

I've seen no post from Janty to state otherwise, but then the product/order page does not state they are warranted any more?

Would appreciate a reply, as I am confused and seen nothing in the Janty forum about it changing. Thanks.

I like the way you think. Although I like the larger cart on the 801, generally I like everything small, small, small. That's got to be why I like the Janty Stick so much. I love the idea of the atty not showing. I think I might just be happy with whatever you come up with, because by your posts I know you've got everything well thought-out already. Good job, and thanks again for that great Janty Stick.

I don't mean to start the debate here again, that's for another time and place. But I prefer the 510/dura atomizers. Right now not having the adapter is the only thing keeping my JS as my #2 device.

Also I must say, props for being so involved in this whole discussion. It's great to have someone do this.

The more I think about this thing the more I like it. You mind if I ask what the system will be for retracting/extracting the atomizer? I would think either a slide switch or spring loaded push button deal but I could see issues with both.

Someone had commented on how electronics and PVs won't mix, but they already do. The JS has a good sized circuit board built into it, as does almost every "non-mod" battery.

After using a shed load of PVs for the past 10 months the only one I now use is the JantyStick, and there are things I dont like about it. To get me to buy something else it would need to be;

  • One larger battery (14500 protected is good)
  • Slot for a dropper so I only have to carry one thing and not two (bin battery number two and replace the gap with a dropper bottle)
  • Slot in other end for a spare atty in case the one in the unit goes while I am out and about
  • Button that lasts
  • ABSOLUTELY NO LEAKS
  • Nice build quality - am willing to pay the price for quality - not plastic! How about a return to the quality we used to expect from Janty?
Being able to carry just one thing around wil be a MASSIVE step forward for most of us, I for one am tired of carrying stuff.

Andy

Excellent post! You hit all my checkboxes nicely!

Did we ever stop to think how much an LCD screen is going to drain the battery? it might have 2 batteries in there , but you would NEED 2 batteries in there just to power the LCD screen.

Uhm, i dont know if you're expecting a WVGA 24bit LCD TFT display, or as i am a simple b/w 1-3 line lcd.... If you've ever owned a good old fashioned calculator from texas instruments, try and remember how many lifetimes those lasted on 1 or 2 of those small flat batteries...

Not to criticize your work (i love the cigar looking thing btw, i WILL be getting one) but i think the whole cameo project needs to be rethought. the slide in atty idea is good, i think that will go down well. but the pointless other features seem gimmicky.

IMO there are a few things janty could make (and WOULD sell loads of) is a custom cart which holds a tank of juice. or maybe a non disposable refillable cartomizer. or a really small 6V mod.

A bit more questions:

I cant tell you that yet, - i mean this is something wed like to keep a secret for a bit longer if you understand.. :) and yes, there ARE issues with both

And here is some more pictures of the Cameo, in its current mold state.

As you can see there are two buttons underneath it - this will be one button in the end - or thats the plan.

Looks nice to me. Are you going to use the battery screw-top caps like the Stick has in the final build? Seems they would be easier to deal with, since folks don't normally carry a screwdriver with them. :)

I think so yes, - but we might also just do the new ones that are coming out that has a small semi-ring you can flip up and twist.

horses for coarses i guess but the MP3 thing just isnt for me personally. I like the two battery Idea although with 2 10440 batts in there your still only at 700mAh ( a generous estimate )

Now if you done a metal Janty stick with a 14500 batt , retractable atty and a dc booster chip ala nucks fistpack for variable voltage up to 5 volt ......Id buy one.

Still , look forward to seeing what other stuff you guys have up your sleeves. I keep watching Janty because I'm sure they'll do the perfect PV one day...but I'm still waiting ;)
