I've been thinking....having a Janty Stick as my favorite PV thus far, here's what I'd like to see in the Cameo, which I see as just an improved/more powerful Janty Stick:

1 - a rubbery duckbill mouthpiece (easy on the teeth)
2 - a mouthpiece that 'snaps' into place, others tend to slip off
3 - an easier battery removal than the current Janty Stick
4 - a juice reservoir
5 - a puff counter
6 - 801 as main device/adapter for 510
7 - Please make it easier to seat the atomizer into the stick

Edit: Dr. Russell Fell, you are a silly willy.

I agree this is the stupidest idea ever a cheap ... mp3 player , and it vapes come on Janty at least give us something new to the vaping world not this half-witted idea

Since it appears people have a gene for ranting, but at the same time a gene that makes them unable to read entire threads before posting ill repeat myself:

We are currently putting the Cameo on hold, while re-designing it, without the mp3 player, and seeing if we can integrate some / more of your wishes.

I finally had to give in and email Ethan about our switch issues. Hated to do it, but after 2 weeks of giving it all the effort we could, my hubby gave up and is smoking analogs again. Ethan replied to my email promptly and will be sending us the replacement bodies shortly. I will definitely give Ethan kudos for the great customer service! Am crossing my fingers that the 1st shipment of replacement JS bodies were just a bad batch because I do like the JS and hate to have to shop for another type of pv.

no, i read the entire thread, mate. still doesn't change the fact that you ham-fisted something horrible and, in hindsight, realized it was just that.

if janty really wants to step up their game, maybe they'd get started on a better atomizer/cartridge design, or a hybrid cartomizer for dripping; you know, SOMETHING slightly inventive and not just some overpriced gimmick with a janty brand logo.

Whatever happened to that stupid looking .... thing that was supposed to be a real winner with the business types that was super duper top secret?

this is nothing personal against you, but i have yet to see anything significant come form janty since the kissbox, and even that thing was overpriced.

I have had six batteries go kaput on me in since July. They were all a mixture of the original ICR and Ultrafire. A few minutes into using the stick. The blue light fades to nothing. Keep pressing and it does the same thing. I put the batteries in a wall charger and they are charged in a few minutes. Try vaping with them and it fades away again.

I did some experiments and was able to replicate the problem. I vape my Stick like a passthru. Leave it to completely charge up and the batteries go thru the same symptom when I unplug it. The fully charged voltage registers as 4.12, the dead voltage shows 3.7x. All in the normal working range.

Anybody else experiencing the same thing?

if connection contacts are clean and battys testing ok could be cheap batteries.
Ive had many of these fail in that time too..
Testing a battery with mutivolt tester doesn't always tell the story.
When you place a battery under a load it can fail but will test ok on volt meter.

Just like a 12v car battery. It can test at 12v but under the load of the starter it just clicks. same thing here.

Have lots of batteries on hand and If I were you using the janty, Id use an external charger to prove it isn't the charging circuit in the janty not recharging the batt..

Dr. Russell Fell;

I get really tired of the lack of civility on the internet. I doubt that if you were siting face to face with the Janty people, or anyone else for that matter, you would be so flippant and dismissive with your comments.

When typing on the internet, we are in essence sitting across from each other, virtually. And I, for one, would preferr comments of, "This is trash, but here is why I think so.
1) I have enough music devices. To add one to a PV seems redundant and complicates my life rather than simplifying it.
2) etc. [add your own]

Concrete constructive comments that further a conversation. The quick one liners are insulting to the rest of us, degrades & devalues you to a simpleton and stops constructive conversation.

I am sure that was not your intention, but it is the result.

Hi guys, battery contacts are fine. I crack open the stick once or twice a week to clean it up.

I had six failed batteries. Add another two more after the experiments. These last two that died are very new. About two weeks old from dealextreme. I usually use a wall charger. I observed that if I charge the batts with the Stick, they are fine. Until, I use the Stick as a passthru, that is where the problems start. Also the failed batteries continue to work fine as a passthru, but unplug them and take three puffs and it's dead.

I am wondering if anybody else has observed the same symptoms.

Ive been using the battery that came with the stick for over a month now, vaping constantly and havent noticed any reduction in charge whatsover. I bought four extras when I purchased the stick and am starting to think Ill never need them. I do top it off when I think about it and dont wait until I need to, so maybe that plays a part in it. I do know the days that Im away from a power source for an extended period of time, a full charge is still giving me 3-4 hours. Im not using a wall charger, in fact I have yet to open the battery compartment since I got the stick. My batteries are from Janty though, maybe these others you are finding from alternate sources are inferior somehow. Did the battery that came with the stick meet the same fate?

You know, i wrote a long text to you, but the more i looked at how you typed, and what you wrote, i realised i have to do a first:

Im just gonna ignore you - theres no point in discussing further with you about anything - not with that attitude.

If anyone else has any suggestions, or other items regarding the Cameo - please feel free to chime in. Even though we have put it on hold for now, we are listening to your ideas.

trust me, friendo, i would've been more vocal in person. what ludo and janty pulled on my friends over at east mall didn't exactly rub me the righ way. they're money grubbing, uncivil, and petty, and i have neither the time or patience for it.

constructive conversation went out the window when janty took advantage of the boards and expected free market research on this monstrosity.

You know....there are about 18,746,127 products that I think are stupid. I do this weird thing when I see one....I DON'T BUY IT! I don't sit on my ... and ..... about some one else work. The same mentality as ASH if you ask me(I think it's a bad idea and I'll sit here and ..... about it loud enuff so no one can use it now) I'm pretty sure you can turn the MP3 player off, hence a choice to listen to it or not. I for one thought it was a useful idea for when I ride my road king. I can hook it to my amp and plug it into my cig lighter and cruise all day with it and play music.
This forum represents about .004 of the market out there and now they are going to redesign it because some folks here .....ed about it. Being an employer, it would be great to have something that employees could stop leaving the building to have a smoke and stay at their desk, hook it to their computers and vape away. And if you don't use the MP3 player it will last twice as long as the stick. Now after reading this....there won't be a choice.
Remember that if the gov takes our choice away

Thanks for clearing that up. You have outted yourself as a troll looking for revenge and trying to hurt a company for a preceived wrong. So you come attacking without announcing that fact. That is truly a cowardly thing to do. You are now on my ignore list. I truly feel sorry for you to be that filled with hate.

Thats your opinion, and you are entitled to it. But there are other ways of looking at it.

I for one would rather Janty asked me, as a customer, what I thought of their product, before I bought it and found the problems.

I also think, Janty are making a big step forward by listening to their customers. This is prgress in my eyes, not free market research, although I am more than happy to give my opinions, in a civil manner, of course, as Janty are now asking for it.

civil or not, it's insulting. I mean, who else would they ask? even giant companies hire other companies to do that very same job for them. the only difference here is that they have an easily accessible source of FREE research and product evaluation, ideas for marketing and PR, etc, all at the expense of a message board that was never intended to be used for that purpose in the first place!

looking back, now i realize why so many people lefts the boards - they knew it was all changing, and some of it wasn't for the better; too many people trying to get an easy dollar off of honest people with money burning their pockets and problem they'll pay an arm and leg to solve.
