Are my eyes deceiving me or is that clear glass for the tank? Did you scrape the tint off? My Merlin should be getting to me tomorrow and I've never been a fan of tinted glass so intended to scrape the tint off as a few have said is possible. Wondering if you did the same or either the tint isnt nearly as dark as I thought or potentially they did start shipping a clear tank as well.

Pressed together where and how? The one I plan on taking apart has stripped out threads where the 510 screw goes.

the 510 pin should sit inside a mechanics socket large enough to cover th inner base

A socket needs to go over the top of the outer rim of the base base without damaging the oring or threads

lightly tapping the top or bottom socket depending on which you have turned topside being very careful not to crush internals

My seepage was evidently caused by my base not being fully seated it has virtually stopped seeping

I assume they are hand pressing these together and not applying enough pressure to some bases

This might not be your problem but it worked for me

That pic is with the tint on in the sun. Sadly when washing my tank Sunday my tint came off though. 20 min in a hot water bath for the first time since its original cleaning it's had a bath. Here's one after the tint came off.

Thanks for the response. I intend to take the tint off but was optimistic that maybe there was a clear tank and I would be able to vape it sooner (not that a hot bath and a razor blade would have taken that long but every second counts when youre getting a new tank!).

If you end up with v2 it comes with one clear and one tint from what I've read so you may get lucky anyway lol.

I took the tint off both glasses. Comes off easily with a razor blade. It was too dark for my liking couldn't see the juice ports.

Thanks. I'm really enjoying kickin it old school. Lol. I found myself adjusting other mods wattage to around the same voltage so I figured what the heck just get a VV and set it and forget it. All my builds are pretty much the same and I'm happy around 4.6v. The battery life on this invader is unbelievable and it hits like a truck and is built like a tank. [emoji106]

So far I've tried .83, .56 and .26 all at ~5.31v on it. I agree, go from 6:30 to 5:30 (i change before leaving work) without changing batteries once. My girl has the ss merlin @ .93 around ~5v on her blue invader and goes from 6:30 until 7 when we get home with the same batts.

Using vtc4's in both so I'm pretty happy with them both. After putting my boreas on it I'm just now noticing the lag everyone fussed about with the rx.

Edit to say: yesterday on the .56 merlin at the 11hr mark the batts read 3.75v when put on the charger.

I destroyed my Merlin last night mod slipped off the top of a pile of stuff I was carrying (I know, I know) and hit a stone floor from shoulder height, landing on the drip tip. The glass amazingly survived, as did the mod, but the tank body split away from the 510 base. Won't press back in. New one on the way...

I need to figure out how to break it down gently. There has to be a way??? It looks like most of it is pressed together.

Well I can tell you that the 510 screws into the base, so remove that first. But yeah, it press fits. Unfortunately can't figure out whether dismantling it also deforms it sufficiently to prevent reassembly.

Huh, well I think I may have fixed it. I used a method seen elsewhere of drifting it back together with a small hammer and a couple of pipe sections / sockets. Now in one piece... I'll pop a build in later and see if it works.

On the one I plan on taking apart the 510 screw and threads are stripped. It is useless because of this.

Having seen the internals, the easiest way I can think of to do it is to take out the 510 pin, place the base upside down on a socket that rests against the edge of the base "top" but slides over the edge of the JFC "rim", insert a rod through the 510 that's as wide as the 510 hole, and tap with a small hammer. That should push the deck out of the base.

May interest someone:

Proper oring lube. PG/VG is slippery, but can over time, especially if sitting or stored away can get funky, in a bad way.

Good luck. I have been unsuccessful with the disassembly of any press fit base. I would rather have a serviceable deck over jfc any day. Especially when the future of vaping is in question.

The Merlin's have found themselves on the sidelines as I venture into series building on the Baal v3 rda ready to try out a series unregulated high volt experience with the noisy cricket.
Merlin drip tip fits perfect on the BA'al so the Merlin's are now set up for MTL and I think the flavor is better like that tbh.
