Looks like the right side doesn't have enough. The video i posted earlier, is exactly how i wick.

Bigger coil, moar cotton!

I would place your coil higher.
Then when you wick, fluff them out.
Next, cover the cups with a little goiing in the cups. You want your wick fluffy.

*note, that is not a ton of cotton. It's just fluffed out. After I fluff it, i place some in the cup and the rest fluffed out covering the cup and a little of the deck.

I'm using a 2.5 coil rod. Should I use the 3 rod?

No. I would just move your coil up an rewick.

I vote for bigger coil from the various reviews I've watched, and from seeing other builds on here, more cotton is definitely a plus on this device.

There's no need. Look at Bodens pic. Parallel micro coil.

Unless that's how you build. Then go for it! I build bigger coils too. It will work either way.
If you guys are still having an issue, I can snap some pics of a rewick when i get home in an hour.

Just cleaned and filled my SS one. Had a little oily smell but no oily feel. I used 30g kanthal wrapped 7 times and wicked with Japanese cotton. Vaping great so far. I have to close the air control 100% to get enough of a restricted hit tho.(not a problem at all). It's restricted enough like that. Liquid control is 100% open. Going to clean the black one now and check that one out.

I wicked mine with the cotton filled in those cups. I figure since both my liquids are 100% PG and very thin I would need it filled that way. No leak or gurgling at all. Putting the black one together now...

I got my black in this morning
Works exactly as my stainless does
I leave the cups open on mine and fill the deck with fluffed cotton all the way to the front just like in the video
My coils is about 2mm from the air hole
I dont get any leaks and no dry hits to 70watts in power mode while chain vapeing
I dont have a way to take pictures of it but it is just like the video
