If it's already in the mail for return, how is it that your ticket is being addressed after the fact?
I get you like the thing, not an excuse to troll me....

Simple, i put in a ticket as required in the rma process to enable a rma, and posted it back to the address specified. That they replied days later after instruction from AugVape is neither here nor there. It was always going back, its defective.

Right, they want YOU to prove there is in fact a DEFECT. No where in that are they saying you are right or for that matter Roxy was correct in what I was told. You're trying to put words into that email that simply aren't there.

No, youre trolling again and they used the word defect, after i described the issue i was having, and they repsonded under direction from AugVape

You can see the ticket, i specficially screenshot it so i couldnt be accused of making it up, i didnt have any input into its wording....

Other people are reporting the same defect, here and elsewhere, am i somehow responsible that as well?

Seriously, trolls and fanboys, you just look silly.

I like how the makers etc can refuse to even contact me, spread bs about the issue, and yet, youre trolling me....

Later...

There you go again lmao, calling people trolls simply because we are questioning you on it? Of course they would call it a defect because you are after all, trying to rma due to a defect. I'm well aware the "defect" as you call it has been brought up elsewhere. Thus why I posted the fwiw after discussing it with Roxy.

The word defect is used, and that the manufacturer requires proof, its hardly in any way ambigious.

Look i get it that youre pro Merlin, as are a lot here, i wanted to be too, and was one before i got mine.

Its troubling to me that the only people with any integrity and responding to the issue are fasttech, and they were told by AugVape to get proof of the defect.

Im going to go with the only people willing to respond to an email on this one. Its hard to give equal space in a post to abject silence from the other parties i contacted. I think we can agree on that. :)

Been ordering from fasttech for a long time now and they have *always* asked for videos for things that do not work properly and/or photos for things that are broken/damaged. They offer that response to tickets for everything, so I doubt that it was due to instructions from Augvape directly. It's just their way of validating a claim for RMA.

My Merlins came from fasttech as well and I am considering a return, as one of my Merlins leaked... no, gushed... juice out of the air flow holes. I closed the JFC & AFC prior to filling, but when I opened them back up, the whole tank nearly drained all over the RTA, my mod, my counter, and my hand. I am going to attempt another re-wick (if a fellow rayonati can give me tips on wicking, that would be great) to see if it is user error, but I shouldn't have had that much drain so quickly in a couple of seconds' time. Something is definitely amiss, but I am willing to accept that it may have been my fault and give it a second go. I haven't tried my other Merlin yet. If someone would be so kind to tell me what I should look for to determine if mine are from the lot that wasn't assembled correctly, I'd really appreciate it.

Actually its the completely condescending way the questions have been asked...

And youre displaying your superiority complex openly again for all to see in that comment

Make sure that little o-ring is still in the center of the tank top between the filling ports.

Thanks, I recall that was one of things people were told to look out for, as the little buggers love to run off, but I'm pretty sure that mine was there (it's black, right?). I'll give it another look, when I have time to fiddle with it, but I recall something about the JFC/AFC rings that was an issue, too. What else should I look for?

Can you snap a couple of pics of the build? May help in solving the issue a little easier when you have a chance. I haven't tried rayon in my merlins yet as cotton has had no issue wicking in it. Are you opposed to using cotton at all?

i haven't gone back through the thread but if I remember correctly some of the MTL guys found the afc to be too loose for their vaping style due to an o-ring inside the base. They got replacement decks from whoever supplied them.
Try to rewick and make sure the o rings are all in place and making a good seal.

Nah, just effin' lazy. LOL! With rayon, I've learned that it lasts longer than cotton, so I wouldn't have to rewick as often, and it doesn't burn in the same way that cotton does. I'm relatively new to building/wicking, so my skills probably suck (I'm using the restrictor in the Merlin, BTW). I built/wicked a Serpent Mini (got that before the Merlin) and it doesn't leak at all, despite not having a JFC. :::shrug:::

I recall someone saying that if you turn the AFC to the closed position, the draw should feel restricted. If it's not and it's airy, then that is a symptom of the defect, but I can't find the post(s) right now. Is this true?

You are right, it was meant to be read in a condescending way. Because you seem to want to classify people asking questions, maybe not the ones you want to be asked or ones that differ from your view, as trolls. So if you want me to be a troll why not act like one? Despite what you think, I'm just here to help other use their merlins. If questioning you on YOUR device and the defect you claim makes me a troll, so be it.
