Just an example to make a point. Replace it with "give every American citizen $1000 per month (Andrew Yang) for sitting home and doing nothing" if you prefer.

Can we drop the politics on this? I haven't seen too many Republicans rallying in defense of vaping. That being said, the way automation and AI are going, UBI, might have to become a reality.

The irony here of course being that if allowed, Whitmer would be turning a blind eye towards a Michigan company exposing potential out of state teen customers to the dangers of vaping as long as the company contributed to the economy and paid their Michigan state taxes.

Which means it's probably OK.

Out-of-State Teen's Parents can't Vote in Michigan Elections. So if they Drop like Flies, it ain't Her Problem.

I hope you're right. Fingers crossed.

Ahlusion and Mr E-liquid are two great companies here. Killing off their retail outlets without warning, with leases and employees, is real damage that could affect their ability to continue.

It actually would force owners into business and personal bankruptcy from a political whim enacted without legislative approval. If it happens there should be done form of eminent domain requirement to make up for essentially the seizure of an otherwise legal business.

Odd that in your request to stop the political discussion you add your opinion.

Are we allowed a rebuttal, or is the discussion over? You decide.

Besides, politics are the underlying cause in many of these situations, so it is often unavoidable.

Still haven't answered the question is Corp welfare ok? Are you upset about it and post about it? Or just people wanting a fair wage after leveling the middle class and lower class? (Disclaimer I'm far above that wage).

Anyway this a vaping forum I'm not going to waste anymore time posting back.

Sent my email and tried to leave a voicemail. My wife is not happy at all she's a cereal flavor vapor. Guess back to diy we go.

I would get an order in NOW or earlier. I am sure Mister E will be addressing this, watching their FB page to see what their response is. I can't even articulate my feelings at this point, the gall of that woman, gah! Her voicemail box is full so I was saved from ranting to a machine.

Is Mr. E Liquids based in Michigan? For some reason, I thought it was in Illinois.

It's not a political opinion. It's an economic one.

I believe they have a location in Ill they purchased a couple years back but they originated in Kentwood Michigan. Dan started out selling out of his house through Craigslist then opened a storefront nearby. They are currently my exclusive vendor.

My son just texted me that a friend of his who works at a BnM was told he could transfer to another state or lose his job. I've run out of adjectives to assign to this travesty.

And in 6 months how many more will be unemployed? Lost their business?

As much as I’d love to see this NOT work what a kick in the knees to the vape shop owners that had to close shop. “Oops! The ban didn’t work. Carry on”

So sad.

The reason I ask is that at least 1 media report said that it wouldn't affect businesses that had adult only areas or the whole store was age limited access.

That's probably an old article about different legislation (she did some earlier about carding and under-18 access).

This one hasn't been written yet (confirmed by ear on TV news). Once it is written and published they'll give stores 30 days to use up the existing stock somehow.

Michigan moves to be 1st state to ban flavored e-cigarettes
(Today's video, but older version. There's a newer one that has some vaper's input.)

But these bans can't fail. When you decrease availability one of two things will happen. One, underage smoking goes up, which is clearly because they were hooked on Juul (statistics can say anything) or vaping continues through grey and black markets showing the kids are hooked. Oh, and then they get respiratory failure and are hospitalized so you can see vaping is even worse than we thought.

Besides, at least this governor didn't try to just shutter all but 2 or 3 favored stores in the state like our current VP did in Indiana when governor. Here at least tobacco flavored can still be sold, and you don't need a super rare license only the bestest of friends of legislators could hand out there.

So I guess it's not political. Just business as usual.

OMG, I can hear it now. "See, through this ban, we have proven that vaping is a pathway to cigarettes."

They are headquartered in Grand Rapids and have 4 other stores in Michigan. They have 2 stores in Illinois, they are BloNoSmoke stores. (I believe)

You don't even need a fake id, just get someone of age to get it for you. That's what we did when we were too young.

I would like to know of the people that were sick and the one that died. What were they vaping? What brand was it? Did they add something to it? You know the facts so the rest of us can make an informed decision.

We have a non smoking association in my state. And thanks to them my state as of this year no vaping (or smoking) on beaches or boardwalks, they site the clean air act. Fines range from $250 1st offence to $1000 3rd offence. Another states along the east coast followed right along.

So I will not be surprised if other states don't follow right behind Michigan.

When my grandkids were young they and their friends were all on the porch smoking. I said I thought young people didn't smoke anymore? Response: we all smoke. Yet I don't remember a ban on the sale of cigarettes in any state to keep minors from getting their hands on them.

Sorry I don't get it.

I just read about this. My local news is going crazy with vapor horror stories that are foggy on details or intentionally decieving. The funny thing with this Michigan business is that a shop could just add tobacco to the name of every juice. None of it tastes like tobacco at all. It is all an interpretation. Josh out.
