Back when the kick first came out people talked about sanding the inside of the reo for the ground. I don't know if that's what people still do.

i bought a sanded grand+kick off the classies, but haven't used the kick yet. waiting for a kickstand to show up.

Here is the Reo kicked with cooper foil tape.

You can get the foil tape off of ebay or at some music stores. It used on electric guitars. I got 6 FEET X 50mm Copper Foil Tape EMI Shielding for Guitars Pedals for less then $6 on the bay.

I just cut a piece to fit - then slid one end under the spring. I didn't take the backing off just because I wanted it to be temporary. So I can take it out and put back in anytime. You can take the backing off and it sticks really good. I used the same method on my VMOD. Takes all of a few minutes.

So I've read a couple times throughout this thread that micro coils don't change too much as far as wraps and resistance... At least I thought I did. I can't find it but I read someone had say a... 10 wrap at around 1.7 ohms and said it felt the same as say... 8wraps at 1ohm.

My question for you is; is there a major difference between less wraps, lower resistance with obviously lesser coil vs more wraps higher resistance with obviously more of a coil to burn. Does having more of a coil on a high resistance even out the low resistance of a smaller wrap coil? Just kinda got my mind going with it.

High resist w/ smaller wire ~ low resist large wire. 8-10 wraps of anything is perfect. 8-10 of 30g for VV devices, 8-10 of 28 for low resist mech, 8-10 of 26 for super low resist mech

Personal preference really

I am of the same mind. Although I do break my own rules. Right now, I've got a 6/7 of 26 Kanthal as a substitute for my 8 wrap of 26 Nichrome.

I add koolada to a lot of my juices. Adds the cooling aspect without the vicks vapo-rub menthol taste. Very similar to the frostblossom

... I thought you said kool-aid for a second. What is kolada, Google didn't come up with anything. Lol

EDIT: reading owns me. Found koolada juice.

slightly different composition of metals. Some people taste a difference and some prefer one over the other AND visa versa. Biggest diff. is resistance. Nichrome of same name gauge is equal to Kanthal -1. So 30g Nichrome = 29g Kanthal in resistance.

Is it any easier to work with? Or about the same as other sizes?

It may be a bit less flexi/springy, a tad more rigid. I always flame or torch it before I wrap. I use them interchangeably. Some folks have a strong preference. don't go buying truckloads til you try it. You can get 10' for $3-4 (I think) with free shipping from here.
