Ok i got Vape mail in today and have been doing allot of reading on MICRO coils so this is my First and OMG I have fallen in love is is not as small as i could have gone but I have fat fingers and didnt want to use all my Wire in one day so after trying 4 times to get it right and burning ups 3 other coils that looked good but just would not burn right here is what I got. how I got what I got.

Stuff I had that I could use.
28 gage wire
32 gage wire
3mm wick
2.5 mm wick
Igo L (atty)

I went with 28gage Wire and 2.5 mm wick

I wrapped a 3/32 drill bit as close and as much as I could to make it fit between the post of the IGO L I have.
Then re heated the wire and used tweezers to compress the coil.
Re installed the drill bit so i would not lose shape of the coil and installed it on the IGO L
Fired the empty coil and used tweezers to compress it again when they were red.
Below you can see the empty coil

Time for some wick I took 2.5mm wick and folded it because of the size of the coil and got it in the coil..
Add juice

ok let see where is ohm's out at I was shooting for 2.0 (I missed the mark) but not by much another wrap or 2 and I am golden

OK now for what I love about it.
More Vapor and I don't mean like going from 100% pg to 80/20 pg/vg
More like 100% pg to 50/50 pg/vg and thick clouds
TH is almost dbl
Because it is above 1.2ohms I can use my VV VW mods

I will be building a coil around a 1/16 drill bit as soon as my new atty comes in because it will have holes in the post making it more easy to put the coil in

Thanks for reading

Nice looking build bro.

Cool I'm going to try a 12 coil micro coil tomorrow on my Igo-L.

Btw, what rebuildable are people using on their reo's?

+1 on the REO RM2 RBA. With the wide posts ceramic base and large but low profile chamber it's like this atty was designed for micro coils and perfect dispersion of the clouds they generate. :)

As much as I enjoyed my first coil today, I thought I'd play around a little when I got home. New coil is sitting at 1.6 ohms, which is perfect for me as I have an addiction to 1.5 ohm coils.

Although it's taking a little longer to find the sweet spot on the VVG dial than it did with the first one, but I will find it :)

I started to wind a micro coil for my wife. She has a IGO-L and I was using 32g wire and for the life of me, no matter how long the wire, and no matter how many coils, I was never able to get it to fire on her eVic. It would error out and register like .4 ohms... Very irritating. Luckily I ran out of that wire and I tried 28g (i think). So about 10 coils (i think) and it read 1.5 ohms on the eVic and it fires nice. Glowing orange from the middle out. Got some Sterile rolled Cotton from CVS and used that as a wick. Put in some Pink Starburst for her and she loves it. Not getting large plumes of vaper, but flavor is better than her carto tanks she is currently using. My goal is to get the the ohms to around 2-2.2. I am thinking a few more coils would do it. Also my coils are not touching

I had an extra piece of cotton below the coil, thinking I would use it for additional wicking, but I took it out

I have just filed my neg post down to get the coil to sit horizontal on my IGO-L. Watched a guy on YouTube suggesting it last night to get the coil lower and in line with the air hole.
I think next I will experiment with a micro coil and maybe try opening up the air hole.
It seems to be about 1.1mm stock so will try 1.2mm / 1.3mm.

That's a lot of wick in there. Do you find that it holds a lot of juice? As I've been scouring these threads trying to learn more about rebuilables, the general consensus seems to be a smaller wick, just touching the bowl, to keep the hits fresh.
I think you are probably rite about being to much wick but tried it as I only have dripping atti's.

Will try the small wick when I build a micro coil.

So... First micro coil for me... I don't have an rda, I don't have cotton.... What I did have is an aga s rba and some silica. 11 wraps of 32 gauge kanthal, unravelled silica and threaded a strand through... Ohms out to 2.3, which is too high for me but easily fixed. Gives nice plumes. Flavor isn't fully there, might have to break the silica in a bit. Definitely have to drip a lot more with this, but it's nice. Might have to get an igo l from fasttech and try this again, for realsies. What do you think of my coil?image.jpg

Thank you. :)

28 awg Kanthal, came out to 1.1ohms. On the next one I'll probably add a couple of wraps though & shoot for 1.3-1.5 since it performs so well. 1.1-1.3 is usual.

Your welcome
I am going to start experimenting with micro's this week on my IGO-L but am a little concerned about how often I will have to drip.

I am going to start experimenting with micro's this week on my IGO-L but am a little concerned about how often I will have to drip.

Before using this IGO-L with the micro, I was using two other drippers with slightly larger coils & Ekowool. With the micro & cotton I have to drip way more often, not only to prevent singeing of the cotton, but because is makes the juice disappear fast! I even try flooding the juice well on the IGO-L up to the point where the coil is not taking a bath & it still disappears fast. It's anoying as I'm not much of a dripper type but it's perfect for me for trying new juices.

Tried a micro today but can't get the coils to touch. Wrapped it around a very small screwdriver. 12 coils with 30 awg comes out at 2.9. A little too cool even for me.

If I can get the coils tight and touching I think I should be good. I might need to peruse the earlier portions of the thread for my answer.

Annoying it is but I have been stuck on dripping for the last month or so as enjoying the vapour and flavour and constantly experimenting with coils.

I have tried about 5 or 6 drippers but have not been happy with them for different reasons but have been pleased with the IGO-L.

I normally run it with 30swg kanthal at about 1 to 1.3ohm's with either silica or ekowool but got some cotton yarn yesterday which is good.

I am looking forward to trying micro's with higher ohm's to see how they compare but will need to get some cotton balls first as I think the yarn will be far to difficult to thread.

Don't get me wrong, I see the reasons for dripping. Guess I just find it much more convenient to squonk the Reo to feed fresh juice to the atty. As they say, bottom dripper.

I thought cotton balls too but the rolled cotton X recommended are not balls. It's comes in a large roll & is really dense. Cotton balls are fluffy. Probably why the rolled cotton works so well. I suppose cotton balls can be worked to be similar but maybe not.

The rolled cotton does sound far more suitable.

I have never seen or tried a bottom dripper as never liked the idea of box mods but will maybe feel differently if I like the micro coil.
