Ferrari seems down on power though. Based on the graph below, they are also geared shorter. Maybe it's to compensate for lack of power? Either way, it won't be good for them in the long straights of Bahrain.

Wow that was a pretty good race! Maldonado's dangerous driving actually gave us heck of a final stint. I'm loving the racing between the Mercs. Clean yet intense.

Man, what a great race! Although Alonso wasn't on the podium, I enjoyed seeing inter-team battles. The Merc boys drove cleaner than the red bulls when Webber was still there. It was actually funny when I heard "Sebastian, Daniel is faster than you". I never thought the team would ask their 4 time world champ to let his teammate by. I hope the other teams catch up to the Mercs or we will have a Senna vs Prost season.

Wow what a race!!! Easily one of the best in a long long while.
Plenty of action and mostly clean racing. Maldonado really deserved more than a 10 sec stop and go penalty.
I know a lot of peeps are not happy with all the rule changes and engine changes. Personally, I love the sound of the turbo 6, I listen to one all day in my daily driver. It's shaping up to be an awesome season!

Agree. It was one hell of a race even though I learned who won before I watched it by accidentally dropping into this thread yesterday . It was really not a big surprise though.

It is amazing and disappointing to see teams like force India decimating the Ferraris but exciting at the same time.

Yes, Ferrari is struggling and I need to read up on what rules they and RBR are whining over and trying to get changed. On the surface it just doesn't seem copacetic that they wanna change rules

RBR wants the max. 100Kg/hr. fuel flow rate done away with, and Ferrari wants the max. 100Kg fuel capacity changed to 110Kg.

Read today that Ecclestone is upset over the lack of engine noise, so we'll probably see that addressed soon.

I saw the interview that Ecclestone did with Martin Brundle, he's a man of few words is Ecclestone. He did say that he will wait for the reaction of the fans first before pushing for the change in engine noise. I honestly don't think they'll change it for this season. Their trying to keep costs down in F1, so changing the exhaust to give more noise would mean a lot of other changes too and a lot of extra costs.

I do hope they change it for next season though, keep having to turn up the volume on the TV. The Wife is pleased though, she hated the scream of the old v8's - no taste that woman, that's why she married me

Not too sure if the change will last. It did get Zo on the podium. Was happy to see RBR lost their appeal but not as happy as when I heard get out of the way Seb Danny is faster, again.

I don't think they could get much worse for a team with the resources and history of Ferrari.

I hope they do better, but the guy replacing Stefano has 0 experience in F1. Running car dealerships may have been enough to get you into F1 in the past, but I think the sport has changed so much over the years and some specialized skills is now a minimum requirement.

We'll know more as time goes on I guess.

Awesome work by Fernando at getting 3rd. I did not expect that at all.

As a Hamilton fan, I actually wanted Rosberg to win. Too bad his luck just didn't pan out during the race. Those telemetry issues surely had an effect on his race.

In F1, upgrades and the like happen within days, in the car industry those changes can take years - so he'll have to up his game a hell of a lot. It might be just what Ferrari need though, new blood and a new perspective. I hope he does kick a few butts and get things moving, Lewis and Nico could do with a decent challenge

I'm wondering if part of the problem with Vettel is the lack of the blown diffuser from last season. Danni Ric's old car didn't have one, so he seems to have settled right in. So I'm wondering if a lot of Vettel's previous pace was down to the blown diffuser.

I also think that the younger a driver is, the quicker he will adapt to all the new control input required by the driver by way of buttons / knobs / screens on the steering wheel. I know that younger kids excel at Xbox video gaming because they adapt seamlessly to different button configurations and control functions. Their reflexes are much quicker too. My 12 year old began to kick my ... at games (that I was pretty good at) when he turned about 8.

If vertical look isn't inverted on my controls I can't adjust. My son can jump right in (and he plays non inverted) and within a minute he has 85 % adapted to it. Perhaps that also explains Kimi's struggles?

I saw the Ferrari wheel "boot up" when ALO attached it yesterday. A screen about the size of an iPhone screen in the middle of the wheel that's hard to see during race footage.

Must admit during the pre-race coverage, hardly anyone seemed to be interviewing Vettel on the grid - big change from last season.

You're probably right about the younger drivers adapting quicker. I've never played video games with my Step Son though, was too scared that he'd beat me Besides I always play them the hard way, whereas he just goes for all the cheats - don't see the point myself, I'd rather win fair and square.

Back to Europe next, so a lot of the other teams should start closing the gap to the Mercs, always plenty of upgrades after the first long haul part of the season.

I hear that an American team are looking at joining F1 next season, apparently they've been granted a licence already. So they'll be creating a brand new team, rather than buying an existing one. Also heard that they only want American drivers in the team. Should make things a bit more interesting

More problems for Vettel in quali - that's a shame

Mercs dominant again, looks like we're set for a great race tomorrow. Should be a superb start, as it's the longest run to the first corner of any track - I expect to see plenty of front wheel lock ups before turn one.

I'm all set for tomorrow, mastered dual nano coils in my Kayfuns now - some nice sub-ohm vaping and Lewis at the front, can't wait

I enjoy seeing VET struggle while his new teammate is "best of the rest". I'm sure RIC is thinking "tough luck" for VET

And Kimi qualifying ahead of ALO. Should be an interesting race tomorrow.
