Yes. I am looking forward to it. Still hard to grasp that Ferrari is qualifying 2 seconds off Mercedes pace

I enjoy seeing VET struggle while his new teammate is "best of the rest". I'm sure RIC is thinking "tough luck" for VET :)

And Kimi qualifying ahead of ALO. Should be an interesting race tomorrow.

On the F1 show before quali they were talking about the difference in pace and comparing the size of the different factories. From the technology available at Ferrari and McLaren, they should be miles ahead of anyone else, if the size of their factories is anything to go by. I think it's more a case that Mercedes got their act together earlier than anyone else, so their reaping the benefits now.

There's rumours too, that Alonso might be looking to move next season if things don't improve at Ferrari. Wonder how true that is ??

Yes, I suspect he's tired of not having a car on pace with his abilities. Where to go though? That's the bazillion dollar question.

Who would have predicted Mercedes would be so dominant?

Or that red bull would be mere mortal?

Or that force India would be running towards the front of the pack? In the right drivers hands, could they be on the podium challenging for win?

Or that mclaren and lotus would be rolling chicanes for the first few races?

How about Williams? Could ALO drive one to the championship based on their pace so far this year?

Decisions decisions. I'm more of a team fan first though. You could put VET in a Ferrari and I'd pull for him over ALO in a Mercedes :)

I feel bad for Rosberg. His face after qualifying said it all. He knows that this year will probably be his best chance at winning the championship but his teammate is beating him squarely. He must be close to his mental breaking point now.

Lewis is playing mind games too. He keeps on saying that Nico is driving great, but he's doing better. That won't be helpful at all for Rosberg's frame of mind.

There must be something fundamentally lacking with Ferrari for them to be 2 seconds off the pace. They are the only team other than Mercedes that builds both the engine and the car. They had every opportunity to make both components work as closely as possible. The gap shouldn't be that large if they were working well as a team.

Well Alonso did say after the race that he wouldn't take a seat at Mercedes, so as you say there's very few other competitive options out there.

To be honest Rosberg, seems a bit sulky to me. I know he's really hoping for the championship this year and he can see it slowly slipping away, but he doesn't seem to have the same attitude as last year. The smiles seem to be put on for the camera. After the race in the cool down room, he hardly said 2 words to Lewis and Danni Ric.

Superb race though, especially towards the end. Lewis and Rosberg, Vettel and Botas, Alonso and Kimi - loads of battles going on. The last few laps were proper edge of the seat stuff.

There's also rumours that Ferrari are looking to recruit Adrian Newey from Red Bull. Just imagine what he could do for the team.

Both ROS and HAM are acting like little divas. Imagine having to deal with those two in a setting as manly as F1?

Id rather deal with two women drivers than those two little tools. Imagine 2 extremely hot women drivers that were bad ..., crushing the field, lapping up to 5th position fighting between each other for top spot? That would be enjoyable and expected.

Lewis was clearly girling on the radio- I mean, come on, your flying around the track at serious speed, undergoing multiple G's, taking your life in your hands basically entrusting it to the car and you keep getting on the radio with that little shaky voice asking the engineers for help? I wonder how much more extreme girling wasn't even broadcast?

I totally prefer icemans way of driving. Leave him alone. He knows what he's doing.

Must admit I am a Lewis fan, but I can agree with what you're saying  I remember him acting like a diva even more last season, when he was having family and personal issues, with the lovely Nicole. Leave the issues off the track and get on with the driving :D

He does seem to wear his heart on his sleeve. I'm wondering if Lewis' pleas for help are a bit of reverse psychology - if I moan on the radio about what a tough time I'm having, but I'm still out in front, will other drivers think bloody hell he's that quick with issues just imagine how quick he would be without the issues

Perhaps. Good point.

Or like VET last year, how at the end of several races there was communications from engineering to VET warning him of various possible problems with the car, a car that ultimately finished with a big lead in each of those races?

Just adding drama so it's more enjoyable for us scoring at home?

I think there's too much Politics and mis-direction in F1 these days. But I guess it's the same with any sport, a bit of drama helps increase viewing figures. Kimi's radio talk does amuse me though - leave me alone I'm trying to race

I'm glad that Danni Ric managed to keep his trophy this time though, it's good to see his beaming smile up on the podium. Alonso still seems pretty laid back about Ferrari's season so far, wonder if he knows about some major upgrades in the pipeline that the other teams don't know about ??

The amount of radio chatter is probably the same for the past several years. We're just able to hear it now. :)

I think the increased chatter between the Mercedes drivers and the team is also due to the fact that both are in equal machinery at relatively equal pace. Both are trying to find out what the other is doing (which they can because of how the team is structured) so that they can find that additional advantage in order to catch-up/run away.

Personally I find it to be good entertainment since it gives some insight on what the drivers are thinking and what the teams are doing to keep their drivers' peace of mind.

Monaco is coming but never fast enough. I don't see ROS winning it again this year. I predict that factory Mercedes doesn't win this race.

Not sure who will though, perhaps RIC.

That's the thing about Monaco, it can often throw up a few surprises, especially if it rains. It's not about all out speed, more about who has the best set up.

The hardest bit is the wait though, I agree :D

Are you there bro? You must be :). We want lots of pix :)

Video would be great too! The FOM mics are terrible at capturing the sounds of the new turbos!

LOL! I don't think I make enough money to go to and watch the race live in Monaco. Although looking at the picture I posted, it does look like a spectator took it. I'm excited to see who takes pole this weekend.

Damn. I had this vision of my UK brother hobnobbing with the Monaco jet setters taking in the events of the weekend :)

Now I have to adjust it to a vision of you watching it on the tube like the rest of us ham and eggers :)

Still gonna be an awesome F1 weekend though. Cheers bro :)

Interesting qualifying there! Things are heating up in the Mercedes garage. IMO, even if this team runs away with the season, the battles between their drivers will make the season worth watching!

I really don't like those two drivers much. Aside from Vettel, both are prolly my least favorite.

That was a pretty crafty little gimmick that ROS pulled. Wouldn't surprise me to see similar stunts pulled in the final couple of minutes of future Q1s by the leading driver especially when concerned that his teammate will best him.

I think it was choreographed and if it wasn't that time it will be in the future. :)
