Hey guys I just wanted to let you all know that I am still alive here. :) I had my son and 2 year old grandson here since Wednesday. Well they left a few minutes ago and now I am sick. Feels suspiciously like the flu and I sure hope that it is not. I was late getting my shot this year and just got it 10 days ago. Anyway, I hope that everyone had a great holiday and I will be back to keep things interesting as soon as possible :D

We DID miss you Salem- I thought things were a little too quiet the past couple of days- I hope you feel better! Aint it awesome having a grandson?? Mine is 22 months old and does keep my life busy and happy- I keep him overnights on Fridays and see him every day. Where do you live in SC? My parents own a condo right on the beach (near N. Myrtle Beach)

Thanks guys! I actually do not have a stomach virus but it must be all over the country. I had a few people ask if that is what I have. I have sore throat, swollen glands, chills, fever, body aches. I was in the PO about a week ago and the woman in front of me in line was saying how sick she was and on the way to the doc. She had the same symptoms that I have. I wish that people would stay home when they are sick. I bet that we wouldn't have 1/2 of the epidemics if everyone would do that. Of course I do know that there are still some employers out there that think you should be at work on your death bed. Dying is no excuse not to come to work. They need to wise up and realize how much more cost effective it is for 1 employee to stay home sick for a few days rather than come to work and give it to several more and everyone miss a few days.

Oh well. I wish I knew that lady at the PO. I would call her and thank her for this. :D

That sucks! :( LOL always a bummer getting sick, 'specially at during the holidays... but, on the other hand it is a great excuse to just lay in bed and watch some TV and vape to your hearts content! ;)

The problem is that none of the juice taste right so I have not vaped much. Mostly sleeping. But you are right, this sucks.:(

My son and 2 year old grandson were here from last Wednesday through yesterday and I just know that by the end of the week they are bound to have it too. Especially the 2 year old. He is the sweetest baby and loves to give hugs and kisses. So he was piled up on my husband and myself the whole time and I will be shocked if he doesn't get it.

Oh my, that does sound like the flu...

I'm an older mom, I have four grown kids and then my now 5 year old, anyway I'm old school. He doesn't go to school sick or even an inkling of being sick, but I'll be darned if there wasn't a child there two weeks ago, throwing up in the morning. We see it everywhere too, not just school. I told my little guy I might just buy him and I mask for when we go shopping. I'm half not kidding either. We take illness so lightly in this country.

Anyway, didn't mean to get on my soap box...but yep, I agree! If you're sick stay home. Don't get on a plane, don't go shopping, to work or to school. :)

I am sorry to hear you are sick. How was this 'flu' transmitted. Through sneezing, coughing? Or did you both touch the same things?

Many viruses are air borne and can be transmitted from breathing the same air as somebody that is sick. I had my flu shot 9 days before I got sick but it is supposed to take 10 days to take effect. I usually get it much earlier but drug my feet this year. I actually think that it started last week. The Wednesday before Thanksgiving everything started tasting bad to me. Thanksgiving dinner tasted like everything was spoiled :-( I kept asking everyone if they were sure the food tasted good. I was the cook and was afraid that something had gone wrong.

Good news is that I found something (juice) that taste good while sick! Candycane to the rescue! I have been vaping Strawberry Twist and Butterscotch the past 2 days because I just didn't feel like filling a carto. Well the nic cravings were setting in from not vaping so I broke out an atty and dripped some Candycane into it. Ahhh, just right.

El Dee! Glad to see you! I am a HUGE believer in viatmin C. I take it daily and funny thing is that I ran out a couple of weeks ago. I am convinced that is partially to blame for my getting sick.
Don't use the extended release though. It is not as effective. I take 500 mgs in the morning and 500 mgs in the evening. I rarely ever get sick. Been through a little bit of stress lately and the fact that I was too lazy to get more vitamin C surely contributed.

BTW- Give me til Wednesday and I will get that sample of French Toast in the mail to you. Pretty good stuff.
