So I have the extender and didnt have any magnets. As you probably know magnets are needed to make the extender work. I put a small delrin washer on the positive screw and now I'm in business. No magnet needed. Fyi

Great idea! I don't have any magnets either and I've tried a couple different things but can't get my AW 18490 to work. Thanks for the tip!

At first I took an old delrin drip tip and cut the end off. Then filed to the width needed. It dont take much. Pretty thin. 1mm maybe.

You can fold up a bit of paper or cardboard for nuthin'

Are you using yours in the 18450 mode? I haven't tried yet as really for vacation I want the smaller design and also I have tons of 18350 batteries. I might give it a shot once I get home though just to compare...

I didn't want to cause any unnecessary alarm as mine could just be an isolated bad stick, but since LittleDonkey hasn't gotten back to me yet, thought I'd just throw it out here to see if any more experienced vapers can help troubleshoot my problem.

My microstick simply stopped firing all of a sudden after working flawlessly with the minigen for 5 days in its default 18350 mode (haven't even unwrapped my extender yet). I've already ruled out faulty atty and battery by testing them with other mods so that leaves the microstick.

I removed the base and noticed that the brass pin in the 510 connector was loose, so I tried pushing it back up and gave it a go but it still won't fire. With a little push from the top, the brass pin, together with the black cylinder around it can be pushed out. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be like this, but the connection is obviously broken somewhere and I don't know how to rectify it.

What I find strange is that I didn't overtighten the atty on my microstick, have handled it with a lot of care and haven't even taken it outdoors or dismantle it to add the extender, yet it just stopped firing all of a sudden.

This is very frustrating for me so I'd appreciate it greatly if anyone has any insights to offer.

There is a brass "rail" inside the bottom piece. This is the piece that connects the positive post of the battery to the positive center pin on the 510.

Be sure that the bottom piece is well tightened, so it makes proper contact with the pin and the battery...let us know if this works.

After cleaning mine once, I had the same issue. A tiny bit more torque on the screws solved it.

Do you have any other atty that will fit the microstick to try? I have had an issue where if I screw the minigen in "tight" it will not fire. If just snug it fires fine. My spheroid fires regardless of tightness. I haven't had the bottom plate off yet, but plan to soon.

Thanks so much for the responses guys.

I tightened the screws as much as I could like you suggested but it still didn't work. The pin does not push down with the base on so I'm pretty sure it is in contact with the brass rail though.

Unfortunately I don't have another 16mm or less atty. My minigen was working from day 1 with the microstick regardless of how tight I had it on, but it just simply stopped working on day 5, hence I'm baffled. :(

Do you have a multimeter to see if the connector is firing correctly?

What about a carto...that would fit...

I really appreciate your assistance Akdare. Unfortunately I have limited resources to vape material in my country (banned) so I don't have a carto.

Someone in the UKVapers forum mentioned having firing issues too and noted there is voltage on the centre pin but not the outer 510. Could that be the problem I face too?

Umm, isn't the outside of the 510 just a negative ground ?

The center brass part inside the 510 is positive. The outer threaded part is ground. If you have a friend with a multimeter, measure between those two points while firing the button.

Do make sure you have a charged battery, too, but I'm sure you've checked that...
