I used to do quite a bit of traveling and had good results with Priceline. You need to understand the perimeters if bidding because you must accept whatever is offered and sometimes I needed something more speciic (like traveling with pets). Just bidding, with no special needs, I've gotten 4**** rooms (resorts) at 2** prices (think Econolodge). Be very careful bidding.

When I have needed something specific (usually), I've gone into their fixed price area and screened hotels / anemities. I've found rooms in sold out areas at decent prices. What I like is that there are no hidden extra fees (like Hotel.com or Orbitiz - ugh). But the hotel reviews on the site and the maps are extremely helpful. They also list phone numbers, website, email so I can get more information, in a standard easy to read format. I've gone to Priceline just for that. Love that area.

If you want to try bidding, there's forums that'll help like 'better bidding' or 'bidding for travel' (it's been awhile since I've done that). They have lists of hotels and the ratings, what people are getting for what price and can help with strategy (you only get so many bids without increasing area or price). When I've asked why a hotel offered a low price I've gotten the answer "last minute group cancellation". I can beat rack rate by > 50% so the hassle is worth it sometimes.

Anyway, that's my :2c: Have fun.

Thank you for the pointers, aikanae1!!!

I missed out meeting Chooch when our August trip to that area got redirected home in the wake of my father passing while we were in transit. Looking forward to a more relaxed set and setting without family matters under way, and having my lodgings set up will help make that happen more happily =) Not to mention...my first real BIG vape meet *yay*

I'm excited for you Merryh!

So, my 'couple of hours' turned into four. Where did the day go??? I was out working on the Mines of Moria and time just slipped away. :D

Did I find these beauties in the mines?

SOLD Teal Twilight (This one looks very cobalt blue in the photos. It has cobalt blue in it, but in my living room it's looking more teal to me.)

SOLD Ghost Chunks (disclaimer: Doug named this one.)

Oh I doubt Moria could yield such treasures..just giddy looking CGI. I got two problems with these tips Kayte.

1) There ya go making me wished I was a girl again with that first one! Beautiful and sthapit..I'm feeling pretty all of a sudden!:p
2) You're making fun of my hero The Dustmaker. Give the guy a break..he makes up for his lack of imagination naming tips with fine craftsmanship !

As gorgeous as the wood tips are, nothing flies off the shelf faster than the sparkly's......

It's the chicken and the egg thing.

MHM is basically known for making feminine tips, so most of their clientele are females, especially females that like sparly tips.

If they would have started off making a majority of wood tips (not saying they should have, just an example), there'd probably be a lot more men following these threads, and sparky tips might not fly off the shelves as fast as they currently do.

There's a couple of other tip manufacturers on the forum (obviously) that deal mostly in wood and stone (nothing sparkly) and their tips sell out super quickly too when they're released, but the majority of members that follow their threads are men.
