Watching for some tall woods, & sayimg a prayer for Ziggy!
I'm liking the looks of the wood ones too! I like the 1-1/16 ish size best I think. However, the size of this one looks perfect with the pattern that it has.

I'm watching for a cracked silver/bronze like this one but short like the champagne one from girls night out.
I love that it looks like fall leaves and branches. :) Shoot the music even reminds me of a fall day with the wind blowing the leaves all around like little funnels of color and there's that one little leaf that want's to fight back and struggle against the current. Just awesome.

I hear "voices" too, Angelphyre! I always do better when I don't argue with them. :p Nice "snatch and grab" there.

Kayte, does Doug use same vertical wood as on the Dyed Birch Veneer, only horizontally on other tips enclosed top and bottom by ebony? :)

Edit to add: Just watched again the video of the Veneer and am liking the graduated cirles on the two sides. Wonder tho,......uh oh, if Doug encased those two sides with 3 layers of ebony, how that would look with the vertical stripes in between? Would it even work on the lathe?

Yep... we got a nice little stack of dyed birch veneers in a great range of colors. Turning them horizontally causes the two bright sides and two dim sides, but they look so nice turned like that with the ebony caps. You don't get the 'dim side' when they're turned vertically. Instead, you get the graduated circles on two sides.
As for what you're asking about 3 layers of ebony... I'm not picturing what you're saying. Maybe you could write Doug and explain it to him. :D

Aww KS. Hate to know you're feeling so lousy.

I'll be posting three more beauties in a few minutes. And then we're taking Evie out to dinner. Because she called and grandma and grandpa are suckers.:laugh:
